The Holy Spirit only works in the church, the communion of saints!

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The only exception of the Holy Spirit working outside the church is that the Holy Spirit draws men to repentance and to become members of Christ, sanctified by grace thru the sacraments of Christ in His church!

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Acts 9:31
Then had the church rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

1 Corinthians 1:2
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord…

Ephesians 3:21
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

1 Timothy 3:15
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Hebrews 2:12
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

The spirit leads the apostles into all truth! Jn 16:13 and they teach the disciples with thee faith! Eph 4:5 The sacred deposit of faith once delivered to the saints! Jude 1:3

The Holy Spirit brings Unity of faith!

The gifts and fruits of the spirit found in the holy church founded by Christ for the sanctification and salvation of all men:

Gifts:

Wisdom
Understanding
Counsel
Knowledge
Piety
Fear of the Lord
Fortitude

Fruits:

love
joy
peace
longsuffering
gentleness
goodness
faith

You need to read the Bible more thoroughly. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15a, " If I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unproductive. What should I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind."

I speak and pray in tongues daily, and it is exactly what Paul describes above. Your unbelief doesn't affect the truth one way or the other.

Acts 2:3-5 shows it was speaking foreign languages.

Acts 2:3-5 shows it was speaking foreign languages.

And 1 Corinthians says something different. The gift of tongues is totally different than what happened in Acts. Two different "books" written by two different people at two different times. Why did they hear their own languages in Acts but Paul says that an interpreter is needed?

Yes he does - so how do you know you are standing in the truth?
Hint - there are a few things satan will not do...

You mean CANNOT do and that is kill a child of God. But ultimately, Satan has nothing and can't do anything towards God's child.

ALL I HAVE TO DO IS RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM ME
! This is Jesus' promise if you didn't know it already.

I can tell you're not going to be answering my question, Lol.

To put it plainly, and I certainly mean you no disrespect here, your theory is little more than a modern religious fabrication with no basis in history. This is why many who hold to it cannot point to any specific date.

God bless,

The date might be important to you. But for me, the more significant is knowing that what God wants His children to know about Him, about sin, and about salvation, have been written in book form, AND there will no more information coming from Him after He wrote the last book according to Revelation 22:18-19.

The BOOK that was penned for 1,500 years that God wanted His children to know IS COMPLETED!!!
Why is the date of completion so important to you, what is the significance?

You follow "I believe Satan comes as an angel of light mimicking Jesus" with "lol", i.e., laugh out loud. Do you really think this is a laughing matter?

According to God, it is!!! ha,ha,ha,ha.

All this we agree on, but it is your next statement where we part company...
AND there will no more information coming from Him after He wrote the last book according to Revelation 22:18-19.

There appears to be a type of fear driving this particular stance, maybe not necessarily from you, but I sense that this was driving its origination. It's as if people are deathly scared of any other document or statements made other than the Bible, so we go into a type of mental cocoon to insulate ourselves from the threat of falsehood. But that's not the answer, IMO. God has not given us a Spirit of Fear, but One that helps us discern truth from falsehood in every area of life, not just concerning what is Spirit-breathed and what is not.
Why is the date of completion so important to you, what is the significance?

If one can simply argue, "When Revelations was written is when the gifts ceased, whenever that was," there is no way to challenge the credibility of such a claim. It remains forever in the world of personal opinion and cannot be challenged on any historical basis.

peter plus the eleven minus Judas plus Mathias equals twelve!
Matthias came onboard much later, well after Jesus appeared to the 11 who were behind closed doors, when Thomas was missing. Matthias was appointed after Jesus ascended. Read Acts 1 for the timeline. It's good to let go of tradition when it conflicts with the actual scriptures.

Show me anywhere in Scripture what it says (or even suggests) that Satan coming as an angel of light, mimicking Jesus, is funny!

You are helping Satan, whether you realize it or not.

Interpreters are used daily to share what someone says in a foreign language they do not understand.

So? That is irrelevant.

The gift of speaking in tongues isn't even understood by the mind of the speaker. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15a, " If I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unproductive. What should I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind."

Not a single person understands a single word of the gibberish being spoken in some religions, its a scam. I would guarantee those religions make one give a tithe even though a teaching from Jesus shows it was done away with and God wants out of the heart not a written Law.

IMO. God has not given us a Spirit of Fear, but One that helps us discern truth from falsehood

Indeed. This is how we know that the BOOK [Bible] has been completed through the Holy Spirit, and we are to adhere to the contents therein.

If one can simply argue, "When Revelations was written is when the gifts ceased, whenever that was," there is no way to challenge the credibility of such a claim. It remains forever in the world of personal opinion and cannot be challenged on any historical basis.

You keep talking about gifts and I keep talking about "tongues."

It boils down to this, 1 Corinthians 13:9-10:
09) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10) But when that which is perfect [Jesus] is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
