Why do some "churches" omit the word "Satan" in Jesus' reference to Peter when there is absolutely no basis for doing so? While it's true that Peter was a man of God for sure, that was not always the case. Before he boldly declared to the unbelieving Jewish leaders, "We ought to obey God rather than men", he denied our Lord three times. He had to be rebuked "to the face" by Paul, who is Scripturally far more prominent than Peter, having written most of the New Testament and who's evangelistic efforts are primarily focused upon therein.

However, there was an occult practitioner, one named Simon Magus aka Simon Peter...Simone PETER. Could this be the "Peter" which is the one to whom is claimed to be the "Peter" to which others claim to be a "successor"?

Jesus remark wasn't directed at Peter - he wasn't calling Peter Satan - but he was addressing the tempting thought. And we all need to address tempting thoughts which enter our heads, and the lies too - the poisoned arrows.

I'm not sure where you received this horrible untruth.
It is in blatant reverse of what scripture says.
No it is NOT Christ SIMON PETER !

Yeah , but the peter the CC follows evidentally AINT the PETER who KNEW JESUS .
I want every man and woman who reads this to examine the truth .
WHEN peter entered into the house of cornelious and cornelious tried to kneel before HIM
DID PETER say ,
A . HOLD UP , LET ME SIT ON A CHAIR SO YOU CAN KISS MY RING and call my MOST HOLY FATHER
or B
GET UP i am but a man . SO WHY has every known pope in the CC had folks to kneel before them , KISSING RINGS
and calling them only names THAT GOD and CHRIST SHOULD be called . That church is false . I expose it .
I dont know when it went wrong . BUT I know it did . Cause the the popes and leaders of such place
DONT EVEN BEHAVE ONE BIT like the apostles i know in that bible did . PEROID . ITS TIME we expose that church
and do all to get everyone out of it . IF WE LOVE the peoples , by GOLLY we WARN the peoples .
I am so sick and tired of this LETS GET ALONG nonsense as they over look errors and doctrine for the sake of unity .
TIME to expose it all . SO I WILL . I Do it not because i desire LORDSHIP , not cause i think i am some great thing
BUT SIMPLY Cause i love the peoples .

"And Jesus said unto Peter..." - not to Himself, not to the wind, and not to Satan either...but to Peter - who was unknowingly doing the work of Satan by refusing to accept Jesus' plain words and instead clinging to his own flawed ideas.

He did, but Jesus knew he would. So Jesus later asked him three times, 'Peter do you love me?' And Peter answered three times. 'Lord, you know that I love you.'
Peter was a great man of God, for sure...but some invest in Peter things which the Bible does not. I think the "Peter" that is exalted by certain religious groups is actually Simon Magus the Magician, but that's another story.

Please don't misunderstand...I'm not saying the Apostle Peter is evil...there was a totally different "Peter" named "Simon Magus the Magician" to which I'm referring...it is him that a certain organization exalts as the one from who they succeed, according to the true evidence buried under layer upon layer of deception.

Okay then if you think Jesus would have called his friend Satan. What would your own friend think if you called him Satan?

I wouldn't know about that, I never heard of the other one.

Peter was a sincere follower of Jesus...and Jesus knew it. Was He saying Peter was actually "Satan"? Of course not - He was saying that at that moment Peter was allowing the spirit of Satan to distort his thinking - which is a lesson to all of us when it comes to guarding our faith.

He's the one who tried to buy the Holy Spirit from Peter and was told "thy money perish with thee".
