Just as Christ is made sin, or a sinner, by the imputation of the sins of others to him

Christ died with our sin ON Him, but no sin was ever found IN HIm.
He was not judged for His sin, He was a body being slain (judged) for ours.

So, Jesus was never a sinner.
He is The sin bearer.

The 2 criminals who were crucified next to Jesus, had sin in them, as they were Adamic.
Jesus has their sin, On Him, but not in Him, as He is not of the Adamic nature, as God is His Father.

You can't become a "new Creation in Christ" , Born again, without becoming "the righteousness of God in Christ".

Salvation is to become joined to God's Spirit, by Spiritual Birth......not by water baptism.

Your mind however, is going to try to bring you back to the "old man".
And if it does, you'll doubt your salvation, and you wont understand ..."God hath made Jesus to be sin for us"...... which will lead you to trying to confess sin, so that you can keep yourself saved.

Once you are doing that, then your faith in Christ is broken, because you are "fallen from Grace".
Yes, obedience to God's law is the outward evidence we're inwardly a "new creature in Christ" and "born again" which is the result of our faith.

There are many who claim to be a new creature and are born again, but they refuse to surrender to God's law (Romans 8:7 KJV) and view His commandments as grievous (1 John 5:3 KJV) - by this they demonstrate they are going to hell, no matter what they profess by mouth.

"The Law is the power of sin", the Power of SIN.... is the law" = "the CURSE"

The Born again are "Not under the LAW....but under Grace".

"Christ is the END OF THE LAW......for righteousness, for everyone who BELIEVES". (born again)

I don't, for one moment claim Jesus "Became" an Asham offering-thus sin, but you will be surprised how many here do believe Jesus became sin in a literal sense brother.

The born again Spirit, is the "Son/Daughter" of God.

This is SInless, "made righteous"... "One with God".

That's the real you, if you are born again, and one day you'll get a new body that is designed for the real you who is the BORN AGAIN Spirit.

The "self" you keep referring to is your THINKING.
That's not born again, so you have to renew your THINKING......(mind) so that you see yourself as the Born again, only, because this is the only YOU that God sees.
Understood-and we are to crucify the flesh and the behests of the flesh.

Amen-there are over 1000 Imperatives recorded in Scriptures, I get the impression that some here think born again is all that is important, and can sit with their arms folded-no need to be a doer of God's word-"let's talk the walk but not walk the talk"

Starting to appreciate your biblical viewpoint.

See, if you are trying to crucify it, you are allowing it to live.
Instead what we do is recognize that "the old man of sin" "IS Crucified with Christ".

We can't DO that.....we have to believe that and in this right faith, is how its done.

Christianity is all about not seeing what we believe.
Its all faith based, as then, God steps in...with GRACE.
When we are trying to keep this, and confess that, and do do do....then God is set aside, because self righteousness is trying to do God's work.

This is why Jesus says...>"apart from me, you can do nothing".

"apart from me" means..... that the believer is trying to strive to do only what the Grace of God has already provided.

= "are Christ's".......... this means the person is "in Christ".

Its not by doing, its by BEING Christ's that the lusts are crucified.

So what is the "flesh" that is the affections and lusts?

= That is the "old man of sin".

So, when you are "in Christ", the old man of Sin, is "crucified with Christ'..
You dont do what is done already.

He's DEAD.

= "have crucified the flesh"...."the old man". "Have"..... not..."still trying".... as this is a finished situation, that is to have become who you are now as a "new creation".

This is the result of "being now made free from sin". because you "are Christ's".


So once again, this is the spiritual result of the Cross and of becoming a new Creation.

To become a new creation, you are no longer the old one, which means the old man, the lusts, the affections are gone.

But a struggling believer's fleshly mind, says...."no, that can't be true as im sitting here wanting to get high, get drunk, watch porn, and have sex with my neighbors wife".

See that?
That is THE MIND, that is not the real you......That is the OLD MAN that is CRUCIFIED, but not yet "reckoned dead".
This is a believer who is trying to FIGHT The Flesh, instead of seeing the old man as "crucified" and powerless.

Fighting the flesh, empowers it.
Trying to do right, or trying not to think about sin, causes it.....so that is how NOT to find deliverance.
Instead you have to come to believe that you are the "righteousness of God" and put on that mind.
That is the HELMET of Salvation.
So, you have to not fight the flesh....., but rather understand its "crucified".
That is a different MIND......the renewed mind.

This is why Paul says to "reckon" the old man dead, not to resist him.

Your mind, is unable to stop thinking about sin, unless you put on the understanding of being " NOW being made free from sin".
"Im the righteousness of God in Christ".

You don't resist sin, you believe beyond it as the right mind, the renewed mind.
You can't turn off the mind, you have to change the way you think... the way you understand the finished work of Jesus that has dealt with your sin.

You have to literally believe that you are the "righteousness of God in Christ"., no matter how you think or feel., as that is just THINKING.
Its meaningless, as the REALITY is what God has caused you to become.
THat's the TRUTH, .. that's the RIGHT MIND.
That's the Helmet of Salvation.

We must Indeed HEED the SPIRIT and not the flesh . Yep . That is right . For those who are truly born again
Have the SPIRIT . a new heart has been given . and when the flesh rises up the SPIRIT always reminds them and they see
the lust as EVIL . A lamb must heed the SPIRIT and not the flesh . and these two are contrary the one to the other .
How do we crucify the flesh . FOLLOW , HEED THE SPIRIT and ye will not fullfill the lusts of the flesh .
Yes indeed my friend . and we are to continously , as did paul and others , remind and stir one another up
with all pure and holy reminders . Like this one . ABSTAIN from all appearance of evil .
Its all a work of the SPIRIT through the body . Every Word of GOD is pure , holy and true .
And the SPIRIT puts a LOVE FOR HIM , Upon our hearts .

We crucify the flesh through repentance of sin

If you are repenting, the your flesh is not crucified., its alive and kicking. Its running your mind.

If its Crucified, you are like this.

"Christ always Gives me the Victory". ... over the world, the flesh, and the devil.
