So, if you are born again, then you "body is dead because of sin" and you mind" (where you think) ...both of those are not born again.
So what is left that IS born again, friend of?
Our position before God, when we are born again, is that we are sinless.

But we still live on earth and fall short.

If you don't think you sin and if you think you're sinlessly perfect, then I disagree with that.

Your quote was spoken to Jews prior to the giving of the Holy Spirit. It does not have applicability to Christians who have been born of the Holy Spirit.
Ok, thanks for that information,@Jim B

Therefore I deleted that post to 1ST century lady, as it’s not relevant...many thanks for the correction.

I wish it was as simple as that. But there are those who "believe" that just accepting who Jesus is as the Son of God and accepting Him as their Savior and freed from condemnation is enough. No! We must follow Him. And we can't with a sin nature. So we must repent and want to be freed from sin, not just hell. The first level of sin Jesus takes away is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4-5. But Matthew 7:21-23 shows that there are many Christians calling Him, "Lord" who still practice lawlessness, so obviously they never truly repented and been filled with the Spirit to be born again.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Jim, because I can hear God's voice, I am always listening for His will. Or His meaning of a verse. Or what to write. Or what to delete. He has written His laws and His will on my heart to do them, and I obey. Always. I abide IN Him, and He abides IN me. We know each other.
So you never have a unkind thought?

My sins have ALL been forgiven, past, present and future....this is the Living word to his Born again children.

1 John 3:9
Context Crossref Comment Greek
Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

New Living Translation
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

English Standard Version
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

Berean Standard Bible
Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

Berean Literal Bible
Anyone having been born of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God.

But that's not what 1stCenturyLady thinks. She thinks she's sinlessly perfect.

I disagree. Only Jesus was sinlessly perfect.
Is there something that you don't understand about..?

If we are in Christ, i.e., part of His body, then we are considered sinless. Even though a Christian may sin, s/he is not judged to be a sinner, just someone who made a mistake.

You don't ask for forgiveness when you do something wrong? Then what is the purpose of Christ saying "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us" , if the future ones are already forgiven.?

So you never have a unkind thought?

"Where there is no Law, there is no Sin (Transgression)

"Christ is the.... END....OF.....THE....LAW......for righteousness, to/for everyone who Believes".

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law".

Where did all the sin go?

"God hath made Jesus to be sin for us"... because..."Jesus is the one time eternal sacrifice for sin".

What is the Born again Christian become?

"Made Righteous"
"one with God"
"In Christ"

When does this change?

A.) When God dies.

A.) Never.

What I can relate to is the 180 degree about face in my desires to sin instantly. It is dead, I know it, and I know who I am in Christ. He also gave me the gift of hearing His voice that night. He also answers all my prayers. For the 30 years before that not one prayer was answered. But I had been a fake Christian for the first 30 years. But God was drawing me during those years to Christ, until I finally truly repented, was born again and filled with the Spirit. I also received most of the gifts of the Spirit.
I still await your 4 gifts of "hearing"-but you have me on ignore-
J.

You clearly don't know to whom Jesus was talking when He recited the "Lord's prayer": His Jewish followers.

This does not apply to Christians, even though (unthinking) Christians repeat it in church every Sunday.

Our sins -- all of them -- have been forgiven by Christ's sacrifice.

Yes I read it. He died for our sins. But we are still human--and we still fall. If we fall, we have an advocate. We tell Jesus we are sorry, and He forgives us. I do not believe any future sins of mine are forgiven, unless I ask for forgiveness.
You sidestepped my question--Why did Jesus tell us to pray "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
If you have any hate in your heart, any anger toward another, covet anything, etc, you are not sinless.

His Jewish followers? His disciples.

Stop with the clearly stuff. The counsel He gave is for you, too.

It's because you don't have an answer and are relying on what Jim wrote, even though in Luke, Jesus tells the disciples how to pray.
