Hello, I find Pauls definition of Agape love good enough.
4 The love is long-suffering, it is kind, the love doth not envy, the love doth not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,
5 doth not act unseemly, doth not seek its own things, is not provoked, doth not impute evil,
6 rejoiceth not over the unrighteousness, and rejoiceth with the truth;
7 all things it beareth, all it believeth, all it hopeth, all it endureth.
It can only be done by abiding in Christ.
While writing to these same Corinthians, Paul said:
2 Corinthians chapter 5
[
9] Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
[
10]
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
[
11]
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
[
12] For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
[
13] For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
[
14]
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
[
15] And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
The love of Christ is what constrained Paul to live for Christ, yet he persuaded men because he understood the terror of the Lord. According to his own testimony, he preached that everyone should repent and bring forth works worthy of repentance.
Acts chapter 26
[
13] At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
[
14] And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
[
15] And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
[
16] But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
[
17] Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
[
18] To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
[
19] Whereupon, O king Agrippa,
I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
[
20]
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
