So then, in your opinion, Paul is talking about a different return of Jesus than what Peter is saying.
2 Peter 3
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall MELT with fervent heat?
It is apparent that verses 10-12 have everything to do with the OLD heavens, the OLD earth and everything in it, however not many comprehend by the Holy Spirit what verse 13 is actually describing.
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for NEW heavens and a NEW earth, WHEREIN DWELLETH [God's] righteousness.
We find the answer in
2 Cor. 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in [through] the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we HAVE this TREASURE [of God Himself] [with] in earthen vessels [our mortal bodies], that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Now, can you tell us what or who it is that verse 13 describes, and what it means to be in the body of Christ?
Here is a clue:
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place [of placement] for you.
Q. Since Jesus is not talking about literal buildings, like what man builds, who is God the Father's House, the place of His DWELLING?
