Well now that's a mouthful... <chuckles> But for now, yes, we do see in a mirror dimly. One great day it will be face to face. Now we know in part; then we shall know fully, even as we have been fully known (1 Corinthians 13:12).
You say "now" as if you too lived 2,000 years ago. Why have you not pressed on and matured? Why are you not of a mind to do so after all this time?

You can call that now (as the scriptures also do)...
Good, so you're here acknowledging what I have been saying (eternity is the age to come); you seemed to be refuting it before. Which is at least a little odd, but okay. <smile>

but that means not pressing on as the scriptures also say.
Ahhhh, not sure what you're saying here. Are you talking about what Paul said about him pressing on ~ and thereby exhorting us to do so also ~ in Philippians 3:12-14? If so, yeah, I disagree. Calling eternity the age to come and pressing on are not mutually exclusive; things are what they are now, and will be what they will be. And for us, in the here and now, in the words of the writer of Hebrews:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:1-2).

So like those born again of the spirit of God are blessed to be a part of the first resurrection, we can also be blessed with the renewing of our minds...or not.
Not "or not," I would say, but maybe to a greater or lesser degree. As Christians ~ if we are indeed Christians ~ we do have the Spirit, and He is not... stagnant... <smile>

You could say that, but what do the scriptures say? Do they say, "I knew 'every' man in Christ, or 'a' man in Christ caught up to the third heaven?"
Ah, so you think you are like the man Paul was talking about who was caught up to the third heaven... Or maybe you think you are that man... Hmmm...

Those who at the world as being of the world, are yet of the world.

You say "now" as if you too lived 2,000 years ago.
Well, according to what you seem to be saying, I did... LOL! I'm... kidding...

<eyeroll> I said, "Well now that's a mouthful..." this first instance of 'now' in my quote was obviously not relating to time ~ which you know... or maybe you don't... In the second instance of my use of 'now,' I was quoting Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:12, speaking of himself ~ which you also know ~ saying, "Now I know in part..." and we can say the same of ourselves (even you). You really should quit with these "gotcha moment" grabs. You're reeeeeeeeeally bad at it. Yeah, very poorly played. LOL!

Why have you not pressed on and matured? Why are you not of a mind to do so after all this time?
Ohhhhh, well now... see what I did there? <smile> ...who's being judgmental now, Scott? And hypocritical... And condescending, and several other... unsavory things, including worldly... Like I said, yeah, volumes...

Grace and peace to you.

I made a couple of typos (I'm on my phone, but I corrected them).

Even so, the gist of what I have been saying should be clear and confirmed by Paul...which was my point: That its been 2,000 years, and no, after that much time it is not judgmental or any of the other things you called me--but more than kind to even be trying to reason with you and bring you up to speed with the trajectory, the call, and the expectations set before us so long ago. Which is me with a word from God saying you are most comparable with the servant who buried the one talent given to him--you had one job--and you're blowing it by remaining within all that was just the beginning 2,000 years ago. That was then, this is now--our now--not Paul's.

Crow,
38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

This simply means that life goes on just has it always has, and then the unexpected happens that changes everything.
Yup.....and at the end of the tribulation life won't be going on as it always has.

With all due respect..you sound like another here who post as if Noah got on the ark after the flood.

You misunderstand what the flood would represent in comparison to the endtimes.

Before the Ark's construction would be the tribulation which is a very sinful and wicked world, the Ark represents safety taking ppl away to a new location so that is like the rapture, and the flood is the wrath of God AFTER the tribulation.

The flood is NOT symbolic of the trib. Pretrib always makes that error.

Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
"we" - are they believers ?

Start a new thread on that and I'll comment. For now I'm discussing the symbology of the flood with the tribulation and rapture.

My post is about:-

Connecting the dots = a pre-tribulation rapture.....

In the tribulation believers can lose their salvation < become UNsaved.
eg Lord Lord have we not......
...
Today - before the TRIB, what does >>PAUL<< teach a believer must do to lose salvation ?
Titus 3:5-7, Eph 2:8-9, Gal 2:16, Rom 3:28, Rom 4:5,Rom 5:1 teaches that SAVED is not the result of do or don't do.
1 Cor 15:1-4, Eph 1:13, Col 2:13 teaches saved, HS sealed & forgiven of ALL sins.
..
Point and HUGE problem for pre-trib deniers :-
If a TRIBULATION believer can become UNsaved.
and a TODAY believer can't then how can TODAY believers exist in the tribulation ?

Yup.....and at the end of the tribulation life won't be going on as it always has.
It will be according to your pre tribulation.
The wicked who marry and eat and drink are swept away with Gods wrath/flood Lol

So shall be the day the Son of man is revealed.

Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
..
Hey JW < no offense BTW,
Life now is a bed of roses but wont be in Matt 24:29
Why do you believe pre-trib teaches differently ?

Postribbers have always contended that they, in their superior Christianity will ENDURE THE TRIB ON EARTH "AS NOAH DID IN THE FLOOD"

They see Noah as GOING THROUGH THE TRIB.

So now, that you are shown that folly, you are backpeddling to make the trib into Noah building a boat.

You are confusing the ENTIRE analogy.

Yes, they were judged and didn't last long.
1/4 of the population gets wiped out in the opening chapter of the tribulation....

Maybe living with smelly animals for just over a year is considered as a tribulation.

We are currently in the same world so to speak....wicked.....despite this they still had a social and economically functioning world....despite this tribulation you speak of. Then God judged the world, sweeping away the evil, the wickedness, the nephilim and their corrupted hybrid blood lines.
But, prior to the first raindrop...Noah and his family were on the ark.

As I have repeated to you several times....the description of the social economic conditions fit the social economic conditions just prior to Jesus return. Once the tribulation presented in the book of Rev begin....it all begins to change. By the time Jesus physically returns you will not have the social economic conditions presented via the Noah and Lot description...analogy...The world will not be recognizable. The Noah/Lot social economic conditions represent the pre-tribulation social and economical conditions when Jesus says He will return. Jesus returns at the 1 Thes 4 resurrection/rapture event PRIOR to the 7 year tribulation.

It's not rocket science.

I made a couple of typos (I'm on my phone, but I corrected them).
Well... you tried, I guess. <smile> And there's more than just typos at issue... <smile> But I mean here's another one... innocuous, but still:

Even so, the gest of what I have been saying should be clear...
That would be 'gist.' The gist of what you have been saying. Or maybe you actually mean jest... <smile>

Oh, and your clarity... yeah that's worth speaking to... <smile> What you have said has cleared some things up for me, yes, like some things about you that I've not really been sure of, and, honestly, tried to stay away from thinking are true of you personally... as in giving you the benefit of the doubt... But alas...

and confirmed by Paul...which was my point: That its been 2,000 years, and no, after that much time it is not judgmental or any of the other things you called me--
I've not "called you" anything. But your posts ~ to me and to others ~ are... lacking in humility, which is very true. Maybe you're not like that in person; I hope not, for sure.

As for the 2,000 years, if you think Paul's statement in 1 Corinthians 13 that "(f)or now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face.... (n)ow I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known," is any less prescient for us today as it was for him and his contemporaries then... Yeah, uh-oh... I mean there's that lack of humility coming through yet again, and, to use another "Paul-ism," evidence of your being puffed up (1 Corinthians 8:1, 1 Timothy 3:4, and 1 Timothy 6:4). And, to be clear... again, see what I did there? <smile> ...I'm certainly not acknowledging or conveying any, oh, agreement... <smile> ...with all your... "knowledge." <smile> I mean I'm pretty sure we would agree on a lot of things, but... <smile>

but more than kind to even be trying to reason with you...
Ah yes, you're... more than kind... LOL! We apparently need to talk about kindness, too... <smile> As Palpatine said to Luke in Return of the Jedi, "Yeeeeeeeeees, yes, I can feeeeeeeeeeeeeel the anger flowing through you...ha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaa!" <smile>

But just to what you say here, though, right back atcha, Scott.

and bring you up to speed...
<eye roll> There it is again...

...with the trajectory, the call, and the expectations set before us so long ago.
Those things deserve discussion, yes. <smile> And might be profitable for us both... <smile>

Which is me with a word from God saying you are most comparable with the servant who buried the one talent given to him--you had one job--and you're blowing it by remaining within all that was just the beginning 2,000 years ago....
And again... <smile>

That was then, this is now--our now--not Paul's.
Hmmmm.

Hey, I should say, the smiles and chuckles... just meant to, hopefully, convey some nonverbal winsomeness, really... surely not to be off-putting or offensive.

Yeah, grace and peace to you, Scott.

Postribbers have always contended that they, in their superior Christianity will ENDURE THE TRIB ON EARTH "AS NOAH DID IN THE FLOOD" They see Noah as GOING THROUGH THE TRIB.
This is only partially true. We Christians, all of us born again of the Spirit, are all enduring ~ regardless of what kind of "tribber" we are <LOL!> ~ by God's power worked in us (more and more, hopefully) by the Holy Spirit, not in our own power in and of ourselves.

Not just "as Noah did in the flood," but before... and after. He had much tribulation in his life, trials and temptations of all kinds, as we all do, before and after the flood. Life is hard. But God delivers us through these things, sustaining and even strengthening us through it all... God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. This was just as true for Noah as it is for us.

And what we're seeing in Noah's story, the flood in particular ~ and Lot's, with regard to Sodom and Gomorrah ~ is that they are being spared of the judgments inflicted by God on the unrepentant, the wicked. Just as we Christians, all of us who are in Christ, will be.

So now, that you are shown that folly, you are backpeddling to make the trib into Noah building a boat.
<eye roll>

You are confusing the ENTIRE analogy.
I... hope you were looking at yourself in the mirror when you said that. <smile>

Grace and peace to you, Rebuilder.

Keep in mind and do remember that we are not the avengers of God nor do we take vengeance into our hands .
SOON this all inclusive god will tell its children
that the time has come that we must report all suspscious activity
and that we must ensure peace . but its suspscious activity will have included
Anything and anyone that did NOT conform to its inclusive god .
This world and these nations , these churches with merged religions
WILL SOON be called upon for to report to authorities , to leaders in their churches who will report to authorities
ANYONE they deem as non inclusive . And AI will be a MAJOR TOOL in this .
As it already controls DIGITAL WORLD and can see anything one types
and hear anything spoken over the phone .
In other words , THE HOUR of the betrayal of the one true church OF GOD
IS AT THE DOOR .
