Care to elaborate?...with a hypocrite
The quote from Peter doesn't say anything about them being TOLD by God to write their letters down in a "Book", as you falsely claimed.
The Holy Spirit INSPIRED what they wrote - they were not coerced.
BIG difference, sparky . . .
ah, i'm a hypocrite too bro, fwiwCare to elaborate?
Yeah - I didn't think so . . .
Ummmm, gee, I hate to be the one to tell you this, sparky - but the Council of Nicaea was convened by the CATHOLIC Church. ALL of the bishops were Catholic. ALL of the decisions and declarations made by the Catholic hierarchy.Look. Every thought, every word, and every letter of a word was dictated by God. In other words...God breathed! God didn’t have to write in minute detail because He wanted us to search out the scriptures (Acts 17:11; Proverbs 25:2).
Are you saying all the Prophets and Apostles understood what they wrote and wrote with their own personalities? Not so! (see Luke 24:13-35).
Flash...Flash!!! The Bible is a Historical as well as a Spiritual Book!,
According to history, did not the Council of Nicea (consisting of the Universal Church) and Jerome, compiled the “Books” together in A,D. 325 as opposed to your claim it was the CC doing the same by the end of the 4th Century, almost 70 years later?
2 Peter 1:21 must be read and understood spiritually...sparky!
To God Be The Glory
That's fine, if you want to admit to that.ah, i'm a hypocrite too bro, fwiw
I'm a Catholic, confirmed at St. Martin of Tours church in Bethpage, Long Island, NY, back around 1969. That's okay nobody expects you to know what you're talking about. Just say 3 hail marys and an our father and call it a day.Wrong.
You know what you know because of your Protestant Fathers. The problem is that you went further off the rails than they did because you have invented some newer, wackier ideas.
This is the fruit of the confusion that is Protestantism.
eWhere did you get the warped idea that all of those Bishops and Jerome were NOT Catholic??
oh, you are obviously pretty evil hearted, i mean 20-30 witnesses telling you the same thing can't all be wrong BoLat least have the courage to tell them why.
"Long-held beliefs can become entrenched over time, making them hard to change. But psychedelics might provide a way to alter them, a study suggests.Waht those funny ones??
Oh, maybe from this little remark from post #1102:Firstly, where did you get the notion I said the Bishops and Jerome were not Catholics. You are too quick to judge when you think someone disagrees with you.
No - I completely understood the "thrust" of your post.Secondly, you did NOT understand the thrust of my post. Next time ask questions before you respond,
To God Be The Glory
First of all - a million "witnesses" can be wrong.oh, you are obviously pretty evil hearted, i mean 20-30 witnesses telling you the same thing can't all be wrong BoL
you asked, so i told you ok
No - a Catholic doesn't reject the teachings of the Church.I'm a Catholic, confirmed at St. Martin of Tours church in Bethpage, Long Island, NY, back around 1969. That's okay nobody expects you to know what you're talking about. Just say 3 hail marys and an our father and call it a day.
yes, and two can be right, so what. goodbye.First of all - a million "witnesses" can be wrong.
Don't go by the number - go by the truth.yes, and two can be right, so what. goodbye.
So if I'm apostate from an apostate church, then I'm an apostate squared. You can keep your idols of wood, stone, and metal. Praise the Lord, at least I know Him.No - a Catholic doesn't reject the teachings of the Church.
That's called "Protestantism." You're an apostate Catholic.
You should look that up. Happened in the 16th century . . .
Certainly not yours if we have you to go by, since the truth is in Jesus Christ, and what has mens churches to do with Him.Don't go by the number - go by the truth.
The Church is the pillar and foundation of Truth (1 Tim. 3:15).
Yes. That was why he is a Saint. Many of our Saints are holy people like the Apostles, the Mother of God, Mary, and so forth. Besides, Catholic elements of Christianity can be found in the ancient Churches.this is why, right here, wadr. Augustine was holy now? What should a Christian even say to this?
We become Saints because of Jesus and His righteousness, you cannot "earn" saint hood, that is religious doctrines gone mad like most., and they certainly not deserved of our praise.Yes. That was why he is a Saint. Many of our Saints are holy people like the Apostles, the Mother of God, Mary, and so forth. Besides, Catholic elements of Christianity can be found in the ancient Churches.
ya, that all works great until you crack a Bible, and find out the truth i guess. You are a saint too, right? Look, i like Catholics, ok, but i know what Constantinianism is and i can put Paul's wolves on a timeline for myself, wadr.Yes. That was why he is a Saint.
"The world is full of people who have stopped listening to themselves."Many of our Saints are holy people like the Apostles, the Mother of God, Mary, and so forth.
with all due respect i don't believe you really understand what a single one of those words even means; or let's just say that we are using them all differently, as you may certainly define a word for yourself...or someone else will certainly be anxious to do it for you i guessBesides, Catholic elements of Christianity can be found in the ancient Churches.
well, you are talking about Christianity, right, and they are Catholics. Now, i don't think they have any business here, but that is not our call, so why judge? If works meet for rebound are demonstrated any kind of way, aren't you interested in the path?We become Saints because of Jesus and His righteousness, you cannot "earn" saint hood, that is religious doctrines gone mad like most., and they certainly not deserved of our praise.
