What's the Weather Like in your part of the world Right Now?

HI, I'm not in the medical field so I want give any advice here on vitamin C, especially when there are children. consult an expert in the medical field.

but for adults, and only adults, the vitamin C tablet helps. but again consult an expert in the medical field, or your family Doctor. and if I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I drink as much orange juice as I can stand. a High School Science teacher once told me this, and it works for me. the old saying Feed a fever and starve a cold is true. fluids are the key. I'm not saying it works for everyone, but it works for me.

and GREAT new on the snow, I hope the sun stays out longer that expected. wishing you and your family well.

also glad to hear "no snow" for a few days.

@BG, don't even Fed ex any of that cold my way... . we almost tied another record yesterday, missed it by only 2 degrees. had to turn on fans and then air conditioner.
but we had a GOOD Mardi Gras fat Tuesday parade, the weather was beautiful. so stay warm,
still praying for you both up there.

Oh by the way I guess we need two groundhogs to predict the weather. one for you guys up north and us down here south. that groundhog in Pennsylvania needs to be fired.

I guess it's a bit like the concept of 'heaven' Seeing all this deep snow around us, and trying in some way to picture you with hot days and fan's on!!
Very hard to do...what we see effects what we believe...ie...I believe snow because I see it...but I must believe your heat there.

For some reason my son does not believe in taking the Vit. C. ? maybe the price ? maybe he has done some reading.
He seems to understand a lot after reading things. I seem to catch colds fast, and now living with 8 grand children
what are my chances of missing this ?

Oh grams...I agree with 101G I have taken Vit C for years...it sure helps me.
It's not too expensive. Plus I always take Vit D too...as we have long winters with sun but not sun we can sit out in , in sub zero weather! Ha!
Many Canadians have low Vit D because of so little sun.
D also keeps away the cold, and is inexpensive as vitamins go.

I have been taking Vit. C for a long time, some times it helps some times it does not.....
I think taking extra when you know ahead of time..... but it wont help me if the colds all ready started.
And I take a lot of other vitamins...... Now that I am old, I have added at least 6 other kinds....... well more then that........ embarrassed to say.

THANK GOD THAT YOU'RE ABLE TO KEEP THEM. give him the glory. amen. many can't do what you're doing, so be thankful unto God.

and yes, as we alll are get older. (that's 3 L's in all, one for me, one one for U, and one for BG)... .
and for those grands, got to wash those little hands and use a lot of soap. also, spray Lysol on door knobs, especially the frig door, and in bathrooms, it helps.

I mean the official record. it depends on where, and what part of the city one live in. where I was, it went up to 76 degrees, the official record was 72. today they predict even more warmer weather. the record on this day was 77, and the prediction is 80.

Wow that is hot! This may be a stupid question ...but when it’s nice and hot there , do you still get “winter flu’s” or is it only closed doors and central heating the spreads germs? To me coughs, colds and flu are winter things. Your sun sounds healthy.
While your records are warmth, our records are snowfalls.
I’m sure the trade off for your nice weather must be bugs, spiders and snakes!
Those I can live without.

@BG, yes we still get the winter flu. it can be in the 70's today, and tommorrow or the next day back down in the 30's. that's the only draw back about living down here. hot then cold, then hot again. don't know what to wear, coat or short sleeve shirt. we get a winter blast from up north every now and then, not only do we get the temps, the cold germs come too, (smile), LOL. but sinus is terrible down here.

but the worst cold's are the one's in summer. it hot and one is miserable. I would rather have a winter cold than a summer cold.

The sun was out for a few minutes, its supposed to be cloudy ! And the plains keep putting more in the sky , I guess all
City's / States do this ??
The Grand Children are home schooled....... [ [ " all 8 of them " ]] but they go and do sports and that is now in doors. "weather"
And if you pay attention the boys and men seem to not wash , maybe not all, ,,, but quite a few...... I had noticed that years ago and
its still going on......

@Grams, yes, boy's tend to do that, keep an eye on them. and yes, the contact with other kid,... that it!. scientists say it's about 600 different cold virus out in the world. so if we get just one cold per year we will never get immune from all of them. so, the cold medicine making people will always be in business.

Hot... HOT.... Sunny and clear. we smashed another record, 82, previous record 75 degrees. it's unbelievable.

It is 56 now going up to 61 And it started to rain last night , and we live on 10 acres and have a pond, and the rain has

made a connection to make smaller ones around earlier and then they are connecting now connecting , which is not good because its

going to slow down in a while ,,,, but start up again in 4 hours.......... don't know for how long, but tomorrow its going to rain again.

Sure hope it does not connect to the house and flood us out ........

When I started to get up this morning it was raining. Since it was the first substantial rain since September, it was welcome. Somewhere during the early morning hours it changed to an ice storm. That is not welcome as it makes it difficult and/or impossible to walk or to drive safely.

just caught this on the fly, fwiw i would run screaming from doctors, and "vitamin c will not cure scurvy," believe it or not! The point being that by extension it will not serve you either, for the most part. Orange juice or limes are a completely different animal, and just drinking the juice is not the best idea either. Turns out the vitamin C is protecting all of the good stuff that one gets from eating a piece of citrus, and it should really be called "ascorbic acid," not "vitamin" anything.
I know this flies in the face of all the Dr advice, but "dead doctors don't lie."

Yes, it would, but today is income tax day for a couple of people I help. They haven't called to cancel yet due to icy roads, so I am here on the computer reading and waiting.

Ah and just I am writing this they send a message on our cell phone that they will not be daring the ice today. Rescheduled for next week, same time, same station. I'd like to get it over as I don't really enjoy working people's taxes, but I don't control the weather. That is definitely as someone says, above my pay grade.

I would not dream of it.

I actually don't ask them for any dollars, but it's not unusual for them to give me a donation for doing the work for them. My wife and I are retired so it may buy us a dinner out somewhere. It may be in dollars as you say, but so long as people honor it as being worth a meal, we'll not complain much on that...?

But... no trips to restaurants are likely until the ice all melts.

hey, if you want to treat loans made at interest as money, what can i say?
i know the rules got changed in your lifetime, dollars got turned into promissory notes somehow with the Federal Reserve (not Federal, no Reserves), not really fair, but nonetheless
the interest is going to come due, and you will not be released until you have paid the last penny imo

do you think that restaurant has your health more in mind, or making a profit? with some exceptions, i guess
i put most restaurants right below most drug dealers, lol
