"...the Gospel emphasizes that the Holy Spirit, as Parakletos [paravklhto"], is "sent" from the Father."
The bible shows me that the Holy Spirit has several roles- John 14:15-27, John 16:5-15, Romans 8:1-17, Galatians 5:16-26. Do you believe that the Holy Spirit must first "woo" us into the Truth before we could come to faith in Christ? Is His Spirit poured out on ALL people? If not, do you a have a scripture to prove it true or false?
If one were to choose His most important role-in our lives, as believers, what would you pick? :) Feel free to give an opinion on one or all of these questions...just curious where everybody stands on the issue of The Holy Spirit...one more thing, I hope nobody here will refer to God's H.S. as an "it"...He's a person! Lol...kk ♥

It is the Father that draws all men unto the Son.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is the Father that reveals His Son to those who seek Him so they can believe in Him to be saved. The Father can do this even for babes.

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

The Holy Spirit does not need to be prayed for to come into the worship place to draw sinners to Christ when it is the Father's job and the Holy Spirit is already in the believers in that place of worship to minister the word to the sinners for them to be converted by the Father in giving them unto the Son to save.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

So, yes the Holy Spirit serves a role but inside the believers in relaying the words of Christ to the lost. The lost do not receive the promise of the forever indwelling Holy Ghost at their salvation until they come to & believe in Jesus Christ.

believers that pray for the Spirit to come or for the Father to send the Holy Spirit ....as if He would send it at any other time than at the sinner's born again of the Spirit moment of his salvation, are leaving that opportunity wide open for seducing spirits and fakers to take the spotlight off of the Son in prayer, fellowship, and worship in putting on a show. So strive ye to enter through the straight gate Luke 13:24 by keeping your focus on the Son ( John 14:6 ) in testifying of Him ( which is exactly what the Holy Spirit is doing thru you John 15:26-27 ) in order to glorify the Son in all things ( John 16:13-14 )

Thank you H.I.H.
I am curious as to why God would pour out His Holy Spirit upon all flesh, if they are already believers and have the Holy Spirit living within them? :)

The terms "poured out" and "full/filled" communicate amount/ extent. To be indwelt by the Spirit is a characteristic of any and all who profess Jesus Christ as Lord. But to be "filled with the Spirit" communicates something different; something more abundant, and it is often associated with manifestations of supernatural gifts. For instance, the term "full" is used of Stephen. "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people." (Acts 6:8).

It becomes a divisive issue for many, however, as those yet to experience the baptism in the Holy Spirit often are goaded by the enemy into thinking they are inferior Christians simply because they haven't yet. This is unfortunate, as I don't know of anyone personally who takes the position that they are superior in any way because they have. But the argument comes up whenever you discuss the issue. I think it's because Satan seeks to create division wherever and whenever he can, but would also prefer it if the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with manifestation of supernatural gifts were done away altogether.

But there are too many for whom the experience is real.

Although the KJV has used the pronouns of "he" and "him" in regards to the Holy Spirit, "itself" has been used to signify that the Holy Spirit is serving as a an indirect means by which His silent intercessions are being made in Romans 8:26-27 and that means is by how the Son knows the mind of the Spirit for how the Father knows about the Spirit's silent intercessions for us saints that He dwells in forever as promised at our salvation.

So tongues without interpretation is certainly not needed when that promise about the Holy Spirit making silent intercessions for each of us is truth.

Nowhere has the Holy Spirit been referred to an "it" but when it comes to "itself", that should tell us that discernment is needed for reading His words in the KJV.

Bbyd, you have written thousands of posts on this board and i have enjoyed reading them - don’t get me wrong, but.....

I have no idea what you believe - i have no idea if you are a Christian or not - a gnostic, perhaps?

Have you posted a testimony somewhere?

this "person" of the Holy Spirit is a bunch of polytheistic Roman yack imo
God is Spirit. The Holy Spirit IS God. Jesus is also God. He claimed if you have seen Him then you HAVE already seen the Father. God is Spirit and He is holy, as He Himself has said. Super doctrines like the trinity were not pulled out of thin air.
