We can no longer ignore the ever growing crisis of child sexual abuse at the hands of those in whom Christians and their children should be able to place their implicit trust - faith leaders.

Nor can we keep silent.

The time for diplomacy, courtesy, delicacy, has ended. The time has come to raise awareness of those accused of these horrendous acts - that we may see them exonerated as true Christians or found guilty as demonically controlled agents of Satan - as well as expose any networks, religious or otherwise, that enables, conceals, and protects these Satanic agents among us.

Raising awareness is fine, but shutting down a criminal enterprise is what is required. What should have happened by now is that the entire Catholic hierarchy should have been compelled to step down, and the Vatican should have been shut down.

So what do you have to say about the ugly reality of what is going on in Catholic churches across the world, and has been going on for A VERY LONG TIME? One would think that you would have come out of "the unclean thing" by now. So in fact you are aiding and abetting those criminals with your support. Think about that.

Child predators are everywhere. They don't discern between Protestant and Catholic. It is up to the individual church to protect the children in their church, and it is up to the parents in the church to discern if that protection is there or not and to make decisions accordingly.

To me these are important rules when going to a church if you have kids.

1.) No men in the nursery. None. Almost all predators will be men. If there are men in the nursery, don't leave them.

2.) No kids going to camps far away. Stay in your area.

3.) Don't let your kids go to any camp where they require the kids to give up their cell phones.

4.) Have your kids call you every day from the camp. If the camp has a problem with that, then forget it, don't let them go.

5.) The youth directors must be happily married. No single youth directors.

6.) Make sure the camp is just for the Christians and not also some social work where teenagers are allowed just because they are from some unfortunate background. You are bringing the wolves to the sheep.

You may think this sounds extreme, but predators prey on these Christian camps.

"Extreme" isn't the clinical term that comes to mind for that fanatical a degree of paranoia.

The problem is not limited to Catholicism, therefore I encourage everyone to post links to news reports of any cases of child sex abuse at the hands of religious leaders no matter what the organization.

Are you saying that Stranger's measures for protecting kids are to the degree of fanatical paranoia? Please clarify.

As I have stated before, the Molesting of Children is not a Church problem, it is everywhere! Right here where I live we have more than 6 Convicted Pedophiles, and not ONE of them were ever a leader in any Church. And I have to put up with these people almost Daily!!!

I suggest that people find a web site, and find out how many are in the theater near you, within your own neighborhood's, I Guarantee the majority won't be Ex priest's or Pastors, or any Church Leader!

And as someone who has worked in this field for nearly a quarter of a century, I suggest you be VERY careful with the information you think you are getting. In the first place YOUR harassment of someone like this could actually put a child in danger who otherwise might not have been. And it will be your fault. And if you REALLY care, I am willing to fill you in on all sorts of things most of us don't know.

Well, that attitude never helped even one child BEFORE they were molested. Not one. But, it does feed our vindictiveness. If you (or anyone else) REALLY care about helping children BEFORE they have to live with any of this, I am here for rational conversation.

I worked with pedophiles as a socialworker - they should not be demonized, but they do need to be managed. One crime is too damaging to the victim and their family to risk

And, BTW, it is estimated (as of course things like this can only ever be "estimated.") that only about 1-5% of the population are Pedophiles, and about 80% of THOSE Pedophiles never act openly upon their attraction. Perhaps as many as 30% of our population molest children, and many of those are juvenile offenders, themselves, but most of these are not Pedophiles. (Meaning "sexual attraction" was rarely the motive behind the molestation.)

Now, the immediate inclination is to say "So what?" But, these are important facts to know IF (and unfortunately it is a BIG IF.) seeing that a child is never molested in the first place is TRULY our priority. Sadly, for most of America, it actually isn't...... and they really don't even know it.

Why shouldn't they be demonized? If ever there was a stupid statement, yours is it.

And by the way what? All the more reason to follow the rules I laid out in post #7. I don't care why they do what they do. I care that they do it.
