I watch it three or four times every year starting in December, as I think it is one of the most contemplative stories every written outside scripture. Always makes me take account of how much I am devoting my life to the Lord with each passing year, and about how fleeting life really is. I'm currently watching the Disney animated version while redesigning my Christmas wreaths and decorations; the one with Jim Carrey doing the voiceovers of Ebenezer Scrooge. This is my favorite version by far (despite Disney's shortcomings in other areas), especially the scene where Jacob Marley appears in chains.

My uncle said he prefers the George C. Scott version because it follows most closely the original, but I seem to pick up something new from every version I watch. My wife and I watched that one last night and I like it too, though the Ghost of Christmas Past kinda gives me the creeps. She looks like she crawled out from under a crypt or something, LoL. I liked watching the old version with Alistair Sim as well.

Anyway, post your favorite rendition of Charles Dicken's A Christmas Coral, and why if you have a favorite scene or two. Note: For those who prefer the book, that's a valid answer as well.

Scenes from Disney's A Christmas Carol:

My favourite version is the Muppets one

I forgot that one! If you watch the bloopers in the extras sections, they have a take where he's swinging his arms out wide while singing a song, and he accidentally pops this 7 foot tall muppet right in the face. They try to contain and keep going like nothing happened, but after a few seconds they realize they have to do a retake... one without the pop in the face part.

It's pretty good, LoL.

Did you see where Michael Caine had to sing on that bridge.
He had never sung in his life before...and felt very silly...but I thought he pulled it off.

I have seen that movie so many times...and yet I still ALWAYS cry when Tiny Tim sings "God bless Every One." Sniff...

I guess I'll have to watch that version again now. Been a while, but I own it. I like him too. Had no idea he'd never sung before. It may make me chuckle a little more when I watch it again : )
