@Pearl

Be Warning...don't bother to respond. You will just get frustrated.

This again is just another waste of time circular arguments with her. She can "go forever" on abortion and baptism..two of her favourite arguments ...the thing is, it doesn't matter who she is speaking to, she says the same things to everyone over and over.

She only ever answers a question with a question...she never give a true answer, and is just an antagonist.

I know no one on this Site who has not fallen into the pit of thinking that she really wants a real genuine discussion. Amadeus was the most patient of us all, but even he gave up..and you know what a gentle spirit he has. ✟
Just be warned :)
I can only "go forever" if others respond to me. When they don't respond I stop. I guess it is ok for others to voice their beliefs but Marymog can't respond to that? Hmmmmm......I wonder how that compares to communism fascism and socialism?

It is not true that I only ever answers a question with a question. 9th Commandment.

You are quite hard work Mary but don't let that stop you from enjoying your posting. I've quite enjoyed our chats so far.

I did say that people have a right to their views. You spoke about theft and I agree that if they commit crime then they should be held accountable for their crimes.

This is like trying to knit spaghetti. :D
Thank you. I guess I am not articulating correctly how your theory is not sustainable sooooooo I digress.

Thank you for your time.

It's good if discussions can be constructively in the Scriptures. "SOLA SCRIPTURA".
Sola Scriptura is not "in the Scriptures" soooo how can we discuss it "constructively?

Thank you. I just wanted some clarification. Earlier you said anyone that is not a Christian has as much right to their views as we Christians do. Now your saying they should be held accountable for their view. Sounds like they don't have a right to their "view".

hard at work Mary

Everyone has a right to their opinion and can be held accountable for it......both are right

John 17.17: The Lord Jesus said: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." Psalm 119.105: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
I agree, thy word is truth. Like I said, Sola Scriptura is not in scripture.

You can easily convince me if you, by using Scripture alone, show me what constitutes Scripture.

Thank you aspen. I agree with you: everyone has a right to their opinion. Can you explain to this coy woman how two opposing opinions about Scripture both be right? If Scripture is the Truth then both opinions (which are opposite of each other) CAN'T be right. Right?

You said we can be held accountable for our opinions. Held accountable by WHOM?

Curious Mary

It cannot be done, Marymog - sola Scriptura is deeply ingrained in their house of cards. You never could have convinced me it was wrong when I was a Protestant either. God had to bring me out of it

Sola Scriptura is foundational - when God intervened in my comfortable faith - you know the stirring! It allowed me to look at it from an outside view - I became metacognitive. It simply does not stand up to reason nor did I find it in the Bible. I have to deal with enough oxymorons at work, I didn’t have time for sola Scriptura any longer. The Catholic Church welcomed me home

Hmmmmmm.......I do love a lively conversation. A conversation is when at least two people talk to each other and they respectfully answer each others questions.

You said we can be held accountable for our opinions. Held accountable by WHOM?

God, ourselves, and others

I agree with you about good conversations
