If we're saved permanently on earth after being born again then why does the bible say in phil 2:12 you have 2 work out ur salvation wiv fear and trembling. The race is not over yet theirs many hurdles 2 climb, many trials and tribulations you have to go through. eccl 3:12 1 peter 4:12.

Jesus said ull be persecuted 4 my names sake!! are u being persecuted? he said the world will hate you! are u being hated by the world? its not a picnic people so get this foolish Calvinism teaching out of ur heads. you have 2 cross the finish line 1st, its like walking a tight rope, jesus said matthew 10:22 those dat endure 2 the end will be truly saved not those dat are born again will be truly saved there and then.

Christianity is about a walk...not a saved status. To BE Christian one needs to DO Christian. Otherwise we are just fooling ourselves.

If we endure till the end, we will be saved. Then, it is a question of the quality of that salvation.

We are in a race. Run to win! :)

I'm sorry this is taught....it allows some to have a false sense of security.

Colossians 1:21-23

There's worse ideas taught with it though, like there's never ever anymore need to confess future sins to Jesus and ask Him forgiveness, because they're told we cannot sin anymore after having believed on Jesus.

After talking with people who hold this view, their biggest weakness is theology around the human spirit
and fruit in the believers life.

I am currently investigating both.
Human spirit - a spark of life, ones emotions, not eternal, not significant
Fruit - God destroys things that are not fruitful, literally.

This is due to modern preachers that do NOT teach what Jesus taught.
Because ALL sins were paid for, past present and future..does not mean we do not ask forgiveness.
Jesus paid for the sins BUT ONLY if we ask to be forgiven.

And what about the idea that we are not required to do ANYTHING because Jesus has done it all when He said It is finished from the cross.

What HIS job was, HE finished...Do we have a job?

As to not being able to sin anymore after being saved...I don't even understand that and have no comment.

I wish we could get back to simple Christianity as existed in the early church.

Phil 2 says work out not work for. Theres a difference. The working out in the greek simply means to work out to its logical conclusion as in a math problem. The natural conclusion for the believer is to mature from a baby through adolescence to adulthood.

I personally do not know anyone that believes in the security of the believer AND believes they never have to confess sins nor have i ever ran into anyone that thinks we never sin after believing. Not sure where youre getting all of this.

I've never talked with anyone that thinks we don't need to confess or that we never sin after being saved. And i've been a believer over 30 years.

I don't adhere to the idea that our future sins are automatically forgiven by our Lord Jesus. Paul taught in Romans 3 that it's our sins that are past are what is forgiven when we first come to Christ. We have to repent and ask forgiveness of future sin, per 1 John 1.

And what about the idea that we are not required to do ANYTHING because Jesus has done it all when He said It is finished from the cross.

We are required to have works in Him. And that is according to each believer's calling. It's what makes up our righteous clothing in Heaven. The false prophets simple want believers to think they are saved and then go about their own business without a care in the world, and thus not run the race nor fight the good fight like Paul taught. Pew potatoes, that's what the hirelings in the Church want for their congregations.

As to not being able to sin anymore after being saved...I don't even understand that and have no comment.

Not being able to sin, that idea comes from a misinterpretation of 1 John 3. The real meaning is that if we truly remain in Christ, then we won't be habitually sinning. We will be on watch, and when we do slip up, 1 John 1 applies, meaning we repent and ask Jesus forgiveness and He is Just to forgive us. We then get back to working for Him.

Hang around. You'll see it here. Already been there, done that, with that debate. They abuse 1 John 3:9.

1 John 3:9
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
KJV

Lots of people misinterpret John, especially 1 John.

Agree 100% with all.

Those I have debated with that do believe in eternal security claim that salvation is totally, completely UNconditional. IF one must confess sins ((1 John 1:9 starts with a conditional 'if')) then salvation is no longer UNconditional as they claim but conditional. The promise of salvation therefore is lost IF the Christian does not conditionally confess his sins or quits conditionally walking in the light ((1 John 1:7 which also starts with a conditional 'if')).

If we're saved permanently on earth after being born again then why does the bible say in phil 2:12 you have 2 work out ur salvation wiv fear and trembling.
Quite clearly YOU ARE CLUELESS about salvation. And to call any teaching "garbage" shows how clueless you are. So now you need to decide whether you wish to LEARN or you wish to PROMOTE nonsense.

Congratulations, you can actually read and understand what's written in the NT.
And you have chosen to NOT make excuses for your any habitual sinning that you
may be involved in whilst the precious Holy Spirit is trying to sanctify you unto holiness!

I didn't mean I don't know anyone that believes in osas. Although I don't care for the term (osas) I believe in the eternal security of the believer. There simply is too much one would have to discard to believe otherwise. Jesus loses none that are given to Him....Jn 6
