Actually, we make a huge profit on illegal aliens. They are actually less likely to commit crimes than are native-born Americans. And since many of them come here legally, and then just overstay and work illegally, they aren't even committing a crime by being here illegally. And they add to GNP. A republican comptroller of Texas found that the state makes billions of dollars annually, as the result of the labor of illegal aliens. Texas also keeps track of the number of illegal aliens who commit crimes. It's a much lower percentage than the percent of native-born Americans who commit crimes.
It won't do what you hope it will...
See I am not against legal immigration and ones who overstay and renew their work visas. I am against those who come in and cause crime. Against terrorists coming into the country. With a war against Taliban going on overseas, persecuting Christians, any form of protection is going to be somewhat of a defense.
We make maybe 4 billion, but lose 10 billion. Not accurate numbers, I'm sure, but the principle is the same. It would be one thing if they legitimately needed and deserved all the free things our taxes pay for, but....
The reason no one does anything about it, and the reason Trump is focusing on a wall that won't do anything to stop anyone, is because our economy benefits by illegal aliens.

This is why some of America's safest cities are those along the Rio Grande Border, where there are many illegal aliens; it's safer where they are numerous.
All the 9/11 terrorists came into the United States legally, as has almost every other terrorist so far.
Building a wall and running down illegal aliens would be like spending thousands for bars on your windows and removing doors from your house.
No. The Texas comptroller's report was the profit made after all costs were considered. The reason no one does anything substantial to stop this immigration, is that it greatly benefits the United States to have it.
That's the other thing. All the taxes they pay, such as social security taxes, go to us, and most of them will never see a penny of it. The property taxes they pay for homes or rents are also mostly to benefit us, not them.
Eh I don't know enough statistics to debate about it. But extra security is a lot better of an investment then trying to sabatoge Trump. A lot more money has been spent on this then the wall itself. Because I saw a video of part of the wall. A bit of extra security in uncertain times is better then nothing at all. We take our country for granted. We want to take guns away and walls away. The wisest king of all, Solomon, showed all he had. That did not go very well for future generations. It isn't just about the here and now. It is for generations after also. We go off and fight in other countries, and yet we do not defend our own. This goes way beyond character. If we vote someone in with the ideal not to defend America, it would be worse then one without it. God puts people in position for a reason to wake people up. Not many have.

Well, you can count me as number 3. This country has been run by corrupt politicians for decades, right under our noses...their consciences have been seared as with a hot iron and they do NOT care about the little folk, except to wring us dry of the little money we do have to live on. Pretty soon it will be just the super rich and the super poor in the good ole U.S. of A. Middle class had been getting pushed either up or down and will be gone altogether IMHO. I cannot imagine how my father could raise a family of 7 kids now a days, he had a tough time of it in the 60's and 70's...he was not a professional but he always had 2-3 jobs just to keep us fed and clothes on our backs. Poor guy was a miserable sort but, he did take care as best he could with what he had. Those who are just starting out who desire a large family should think twice! Unless, of course they are faithful Christians and, would therefore depend on Christ for all their provisions. I see so very many single moms out there, struggling for every scrap they can get. Some are like that because of bad decisions, others, because of the fathers leaving. "we will always have the poor around us" Hmm-who said that again?? lol.
As far a the "character" of a politician...they are actors, very good at what they do and so many are duped into believing anything that comes out of their mouth. I have become pretty cynical towards all things political as, there is only One whom I trust and believe in.

It's a good idea to do the research. Facts matter.
Trump is now trying to get around the fact that Congress will not give him money to waste on a wall that will not work. He's proposing divert funding for our troops and their families to get his way. And that is despicable. Those men and women actually do provide security for us, and stealing from them is a contemptable thing to do.
That's the point; it won't work. Even the border patrol people know it:

But illegal aliens don't. They see what Ronald Reagan called "a shining city on a hill." A place of opportunity for anyone willing to work hard at it, a place where your skin color or who your father was doesn't matter. They believe in America in a way that Trump never will, because he never had to work hard for anything. Reagan was enthused about immigrants, because he knew America would take in all those people, and because our way is better, would turn them into Americans. Trump and his people have lost faith in America and what it is.
And so, most Americans have now lost faith in Trump and his people.
Only if they are weak-minded enough to believe what the media tells them to believe.

ScottA - I have spoken with people for 15 minutes and later learned horrific things about them. The bottom line is that you don't really know Trump. He just appealed to you at some level. Very suave and sophisticated people know how to do this - it's taught in courses. Talk is cheap.
Christ said "by their FRUITS ye shall know them" NOT by their TALK. Trump talks a good game but the fact remains that he has packed the White House with swamp creatures. Learn who is on the Council for Foreign Relations - and when you see their names BEWARE. The CFR's main goal is DESTROYING AMERICA'S SOVEREIGNTY. So why in the heck does Trump have them in the WH??? So continue to think yourself superior because YOU don't buy into CONSPIRACY THEORIES - even as Trump continues the war machine, fails to defund Planned Parenthood, fails to hold criminals in government accountable, packs his cabinet with CFR and globalists and plans to implement Red Flag gun laws. He continued a version of NAFTA which has hollowed out the manufacturing in America. I saw it collapse our city when all the factories closed. I did extensive research into the drug epidemic and learned that it hit after Clinton signed NAFTA - which was disastrous for America. My neighbor's unarmed grandson was assassinated and a judge threw out the lawsuit. My brother was pulled over and beaten by police and they robbed him of several thousand. A friend's daughter was molested during a traffic stop and the lawyer told them to drop it. They tampered with the video - something you would be arrested for - but not them. You'll find out sooner or later. Yet your hero Trump spoke at a police rally and told them they should "knock a few heads around" and "make sure you slammed them when you put them into the police car" - what else do psychopaths need than the blessing of the highest office in the land to abuse the populace? It's all there for all to see if they look for it. BUT YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT.
You ask me where is my faith. I have close relationship with God - although I freely admit that I don't understand Him at times and I tell Him. I often feel like Habakuk - I tell God that He placed justice within me and yet I see very little of it - although I will say that God has shown me where He has exacted justice now and then - and it gives me enough faith that He will continue. But throughout my life I have had to act. My husband and I worked and bought a house while our pastor bemoaned that he's prayed for a house and God hadn't given him one yet. I said "shouldn't you take steps to buy a house?" I think that sometimes Christians expect God to do for them what they should do for themselves.
I have Christian friends who never contact legislators to complain, never speak up, never make waves. They think that's God's business. But are they right? I asked a pastor at our bible study and he scoffed and said that's just an excuse.
Are Christians being complacent and using God as an excuse? Each one of us has to answer that for themselves.
If we go by your reasoning we should never work, we should never complain when laws are enacted that are not to our benefit, - we just need faith in God. Oh it sounds super-spiritual but it is not how I have experienced God. I saw when all the complacent people on my street did nothing when the town refused to pave our road. I called the mayor and set up a meeting and sent words to our neighbors - I didn't have to say a word - all the neighbors exploded on the mayor and the road was paved.

If enough people woke up to what is really going on all around us then I believe that future generations may stand a chance. I miss the America I used to know. I believe it was Heart&Soul who said too many Christians have turned the other cheek and that is why everything is such a mess. We all know Revelations - we know things are to wax worse - but are we to sit by complacently and do nothing like the people on my road? I have asked that question and I don't believe so. Silence is interpreted as assent. If we refuse to speak up when a young man's testicles are brutally tasered then the next sick government employee will do it to the next person and the next. And eventually it will happen to YOU.

Americans have fallen into a flabby complacency even as our country is destroyed for future generations. I was chatting with a man when we were out - he enthusiastically talked about the local sports team, mutual people we knew, but then when I brought up a political issue it was amazing to watch - he sat and stared off into the distance and zoned out. That scares me. But that is exactly what the globalists want - a dumbed down populace concerned about their football team and what Kim Kardashian is wearing. Hollywood is their biggest asset - and they're after the youth of America.
So to answer you, ScottA - God does act - and sometimes independent of us - but I have also seen that He expects us to do our part. The American people are kept busy with "bread and circus." My faith is intact - but I don't believe that God wants us to be stupid and do nothing. He forewarned us about Satan appearing as an angel of light. I could be wrong about Trump - and I've questioned myself again and again but things don't add up with him. If he is all about MAGA then he shouldn't pack his cabinet with CFR.

Amen Nancy. I too have become cynical. Every time I think "we FINALLY have someone in office who will change things" I am disappointed. I finally realized that nothing is going to change. Not unless there is a Revolution - which I doubt because Americans have lost the will, the spirit. I actually hate politics because of the lies, the deception. But they're impacting our lives and we all know this can't continue. America is on life support.

Texas, so far as I know, is the only state that does keep numbers on this. And it very clearly demonstrates the fact that illegal aliens commit crimes at a much lower rate than do native-born Americans. That's not debatable; it's just a fact. I think a lot of what you're saying, which I agree with, is a result of the communist philosophy/mindset - it's an evil angel led belief system, that is utilized in human organizations that are controlled by satan and his angels (if it works to control humans loyal to them the evil angels, why wouldn't it work for humans to control other humans). A belief in the elite, and the "plebs". The few elite rule the many "commoners". Thankfully Jesus is a "commoner", so I'll stick with Him, and us.
Thankfully life will be much better for us in Jesus' millinium kingdom, and eternity thereafter. No more taxes (I'd guess)!
I have to give it to people like your dad and mother, and my own parents. They did what they had to do to provide for their children at great sacrifice to themselves. I come from a broken home, so I know how tough it was for my single "mom" (long story about why I have mom in quotes - turned out to not be my mom, or something - new information to me so I'm still sorting it all out), how some of my childhood was spent helping her with her two other kids while she worked. It's tough for us all.
It's funny how with Trump, we have another literal actor, just like Raegan. Literal actors are/have been president. That's proof of what you're saying, in a funny way. I agre with you though, that all the others have been actors as well - puppets, that are good front-people; good in front of a crowd.

That's your prerogative Scott. Remember: people are not always as they seem. I dealt with a person who was very corrupt one time. I spoke with a neighbor who said "so-and-so drove their kids on the bus and said they're really nice." But how well did the bus driver really know this person? Only on a casual basis. She talked to her for perhaps 5 minutes every few days when the bus driver picked up her kids. It's when you have up-front dealings with a person when you truly get to know their character. I had an up-front dealing with the person and they were NOT nice. I know someone who was extremely nice to me - but she didn't want my husband - she wanted a friend's. I could say: "I know Kate - she's really nice!" But was she? She didn't think twice about stealing someone's husband. It's all in your dealing with them. You spoke with Trump for a few minutes and he seemed like a regular guy - Kate seemed like a regular gal. But you don't really know Trump.
I researched this for several years and I was formerly very pro-Trump so I understand where you're coming from. I was just like you several years ago and I vociferously defended Trump. As I've said - I could be wrong - I just don't think so. There are too many things that don't add up. There is mass deception used on the American people. I urge you to read Vigilant Citizen and The Rutherford Institute. Hollywood's aim is youth.

I've tried hard to exercise my senses to discern good and evil. Maybe you have too. But after doing countless hours of research and copious prayer I believe that we are being led like lambs to the slaughter. It's up to God to show us the truth.
I don't mind healthy discourse - I just want things to stay civil. We're professing Christians and I don't think that any truly regenerated person would believe that God wants us to mistreat a brother who we disagree with. Arguments become heated because each person holds strong views - but we can still be civil.

Don't know you, or your motives. But Trump's history gives us a lot of information on which to judge him. Assaulting women and bragging about how he gets away with it. Getting nailed with a multimillion dollar judgement for fraud. Repeated bankruptcies. Betraying three wives, one after the other. Paying off a porn star to protect his candidacy, and then lying about it. Abusing children to get at their parents, including one in his own family.
Stuff like that.
