Of course we worship a different Christ.
Your Catholic Christ is a HUMAN.
My True Christ is SPIRIT.

Glory to God,
Taken
Wrong.

EVERY denomination within Christianity Catholicism & Protestantism - believes that Christ is 100% man and 100% God. This isn’t just a “Catholic” thing, Einstein.

Your rejection of this Biblical truth proves that you perverted theology is anti-Christian.

Trespasses are still in the New Covenant, as are willful sins, but they are not the same. Where do we learn what is adultery? Or what is homosexuality? The Old Testament, so if you throw it out, you become ignorant of the definitions of anything God hates. And if you try to interpret 1 John 5:16-17 you will only come up with human guesswork based on human reasoning, instead of what is clearly written in the Old Testament - our tutor. It has nothing to do with not being under the law. It still shows us how God thinks. If you can't understand the Old Testament, you'll never understand half of the New Covenant.

Look BOL, the reason why I'm still answering your posts is because I think there is hope for you. If you can accept the Catholic doctrines, you can also accept the Bible. At least you're not on a planet of make-believe cheese. But I will only do this if I see signs you are developing an open mind and want more and more of God. If not, oh well...
Well, aside from being fairly full of yourself – you apparently don’t understand why it is that I’m here.

Although it might be “nice” if I got through to you – that’s not my goal. I am ONLY here to dispel myths, lies and fairy tales about the Catholic Church – which @Taken spews like a fountain. So – whether or not you continue to have a discourse with me is not important – regardless of how much you think it is.

With that being said – you have not provided ANY Scriptural evidence that we can “accidentally” or “unintentionally” sin. Christ was CLEAR that ignorance lessens and even removes culpability (John 9:41, John 15:22).

No matter how you try to rationalize it – a “trespass” is a sin . . .

Of course a trespass is a sin, I NEVER said it wasn't, but NOT a sin unto death like a willful sin is. If you want to believe sin is sin, and all sin is willful, then you don't care what God says. The Word of God should be our foundation, but denominationalists believe whatever their denomination tells them. That is all denominations, not just the RCC.

I'm not full of myself, but the Holy Spirit. I'm here because I care for those trapped in false doctrines of demons. And I don't mean you are. The RCC is better than a lot of Protestant denominations, especially from the Reformation, but it still has some errors that you are repeating.

I'm not your enemy, and I have been treating you with respect and I'm still talking to you. If you want me to stop, just keep a closed mind, and I'll brush the dust off my feet.

ALL sin requires consent of the will.
Name ONE sin that doesn't.

Do you believe that stealing a pencil from work carries with it the same gravity as murdering your boss?

Yes, stealing and murder are both willful and against the laws of God. Even lies, which people do all the time. They all carry the same weight.

But what if you borrow some money from your dad to pay your rent because you had some unplanned medical expenses, then because you had to miss work because of your injury, your company fired you and you could not pay back your father when you told him you would. Your inability to keep that promise to your dad on time was a sin. Was it willful? Was it planned? No, it was a trespass - a sin unwittingly committed.

Can you see the difference, or not. Or do you believe the son did not sin when he couldn't keep his promise. What about if you forget your anniversary and it hurts your wife's feelings. Causing that hurt is a trespass - a sin. Can you see that the will and intent are not involved?

Stealing a pencil and murder is comparing apples to apples. Both willful sins of lawlessness.

Unintentionally failing to keep a promise, or hurting your wife's feelings unintentionally, and comparing that to stealing or murder is comparing apples to oranges. Both sin, but stealing is a sin unto death, but trespasses are sins NOT unto death. And as we forgive others for their hurts committed unwittingly against us, the Father forgives us of these trespasses that we have committed.

No - it's not a sin NOT to repay your father a loan when you lose your job. Your intent is STILL to pay him when your situation improves.
Sin is about INTENT - not circumstance.

Minor or "venial" sin damages our relationship with God. Grave or "mortal" sin severs our relationship with Him. This is the sin that causes death (1 John 5:16) - spiritual death.
Stealing a pencil or a loaf of bread and killing a man are NOT the same thing.

I've never heard that. Where does it say a trespass is a transgression?
According to Strong’s, the Hebrew word used in Scripture for “Trespass” is אשמו, which is defined as:

1) guilt, offense, sin, guiltiness 1a) offense, sin, trespass, fault 1b) guilt, guiltiness 1c) compensation (for offense) 1d) trespass or sin offering

You connected it to a transgression. That is what I want to know about. I already know a trespass is a sin, but what type? A transgression is a different type of sin than a trespass. But if you can show me otherwise, I'd like to know where in the Bible.

Transgression simply means "rebellion", which, when against God is willful sin.

ALL sin is rebellion against God.

Do you really believe forgetting your anniversary and hurting your wife's feelings is rebellion against God? Even if you make it up to her, you still sinned against her. Or do you believe the only way he forgot was on purpose and willful so rebellion? It couldn't possibly be unintentional? Rebellion against God is worthy of death? Is unintentionally forgetting what day it is worthy of death?

Can you see that this sin is not lawlessness, rebellion, or intentional? Or are you going to keep your mind closed and say again that all sin is rebellion, even though the WORD OF GOD says otherwise? No denomination can trump God's Word?

Forgetting your anniversary isn't a sin.
Hurting your wife's feelings isn't necessarily a sin either - unless it is done with malice.

ALL sin is about intent.
NO such thing as "accidental" sin.

John 9:41
Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.

Of course it is a sin, because it is a trespass. The wife has a choice whether to forgive her husband or not. But if she doesn't, her lack of forgiveness which is also a sin, will not be forgiven her.

Any imperfection or fault is sin. Anything less than perfection is sin. Jesus wants us to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. This is why Jesus came to make us born again with a divine nature, He didn't just cover our sin, He took it away. But that is the type of sin called lawlessness, which is intentional. There is no law against forgetfulness, but it can cause hurt feelings and is a fault. One of your Strong's definition of trespass is fault, but also sin, just not lawlessness. And if you would read the whole Bible, there are verses regarding unintentional sin, but you believe your opinion is better than the Word of God.

No - a trespass is a sin. A sin involves the will.
Forgetting your anniversary is nothing but forgetfulness but NOT sin because there was no malice.

According to YOUR bizarre logic - not putting enough tape on my wife giftwrapped present is a sin because it is imperfect . . .

You just don't understand that not all sin is willful. And you won't accept Old Testament definitions, so you will just remain ignorant of unintentional sins. We are now in a repeat mode, so I'm not teaching the unteachable. Now BOTH you and Taken will go on ignore. So you don't have to respond, unless you want the last word for everyone else, because I won't be bothered with seeing it.
