Simply having the Bible is Not a final assurance that we are OK we God. We also need that more personal connection with Him.
I have never argued anything different and completely agree. But, the idea that we can gain knowledge of the attributes of God outside of what is revealed of his power and majesty in nature anywhere but Scripture is utterly false.

Jennifer said: "I know the truth naturally sometimes"
You do not know Christ naturally. That is literally impossible.
Ignore him. That is just the Pharisee in him coming out. He can't help it. He is pretty hung-up on "Biblical terminology" and can't see when a person uses normal terms. If he weren't blinded by that flaw, he would have read something like "automatically", or another such word, as most of us understood you to mean.

This has nothing to do with theological terms vs. lay terms. Nobody knows Christ naturally without Scripture or someone telling them what is i n Scripture. There is no more special revelation.

And I see you now have turned hypocrite and have resorted to name calling.
I'm calling no one names. You actually do exhibit a lot Pharisaism. If you doubt this, just ask an open question of the members here, and listen to what they have seen in your treatment of others, especially Jennifer.

As I said before, a black belt picking on a white belt is nothing to be proud of. She's trying, and needs to be helped along, not ridiculed simply because you know a few verses to hit her with and want to show that off.

Might that be one of those Absolute Truths [AT] that our friend @bbyrd009 has frequently been asking or warning people about? Remembering that God has never changed [as it is also written], just think about all of those OT people who communicated with God and certainly did not have the written Bible we have, if they had anything in writing at all. Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Moses seemingly did not even have the first five books of the OT. Most, if not all, of the good Kings and true prophets of God about whom we read in the OT probably never had much more than those five books.

When Jesus came what he brought was more abundant Life for us. He ushered in a period of gifts for not only prophets and such, but for whosoever will. The writings of scripture speak of those gifts, but those gifts are not the Bible itself, are they? Knowledge of the gifts indeed is available for one who reads the scriptures as led by the Holy Spirit, but how does one receive any of those gifts? How is one changed from a sinful and sinning old man to a new man who is able to become like Him?

Should we simply read the Bible and then sit back and wait assured that God will provide or should we do what the writings say?

So then it is written:

"But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way." I Cor 12:31

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7

So then should a person expect to a receive a gift such aa prophecy without ever talking to God and asking of Him? Are God's answers to us limited by what is prescribed in written scripture?

How does a person proceed from the "through a glass, darkly" vision about which Apostle Paul to the "then face to face" vision? Is the face of God visible in the scriptures alone?

This was not written to me but it caught my eye. What do you mean by "special"? There is certainly revelation to people when they actually meet Jesus for the first time. To them that is a revelation. Maybe the word, "special" as you have used it means something special to you, but while I may have an inkling, I really don't know what you mean.

Special revelation meaning something other than what we find in Scripture.

God interacted with humanity in different ways at different times.

I agree the Christ gladly accepts all who come to Him my Sister. However, Romans 3:11 says there are none who seek Him. In Matthew 18:12-14 we see Him going and finding His sheep, placing them upon His shoulders, carry them and placing them back in the fold. It is He who seeks, and finds, the sheep. Not the other way around.
Who says I wasn't seeking?

Special revelation meaning something other than what we find in Scripture.

Interesting ...in my time I have had three profound dreams , very obviously spiritual ones from the Lord. Also two open-eyed visions.
These obviously were spread over 53 years, so not a 'regular thing' or monthly happening by any means...but they happened.

Or would you say they didn't happen and were not from God?
I guess if you believe what you posted above you would says that.

Yes, I have taken you off ignore. Maybe we can have a civil conversation?
We will see. :)

Well we certainly need whatever God provides. Since most, or even all of us on this forum, are blessed to have written Bibles, we should thank God for the blessing and make good and proper use of it. Not everyone is so blessed so we should especially hold those without up in prayer. If they are sincerely reaching out to them, will He ignore or neglect them because they do have access to a Bible? The key always is the heart of a person. With the right heart a person may be richly rewarded through the Bible, but as we read the blessings Jesus spoke to his audience in Matt 5:3-11 we should realize that those same blessings may be received by anyone. Owning a Bible again is not a prerequisite to receiving those blessings.

Simply having the Bible is Not a final assurance that we are OK with God. We also need to have a more personal connection with Him.
It is. It's a matter of the heart. God is seeking people who love him and worship him and spirit in truth not people who think they are smart and can earn thier way through scriptures...it would take a whole lot of the holy spirit and Jesus within you to interpret scripture correctly and if the spirit isn't revealing it and unless the Lord told you personally how do you know your own thinking of scripture is the absolute truth? But we will know all truth when Jesus sets his foot back on this earth because he is the truth way and life..and the only one who was worthy to open up the book in Revelations.. Jesus has the keys to the kingdom of heaven..not you..nor me or anyone else for that matter..you can try to argue all you want with me but it won't work because you are truly becoming a pain In the butt..you just tryna work up my last nerves ..it ain't gonna work because for now on you can talk to yourself..I don't have time to argue with you...you are getting to loud in my head..it's becoming annoying...

That's pretty vague. You have shown anything about the content of the drams, or how the dreams lined up with Scripture, or how they were validated to be actually from God.
