I would be if there was another one within 50 miles of us. But a 100+ mile round-trip is a bit much. The one we were attending went to the dogs, and became a "Loosie-Goosy, Anything-Goes" place that almost seemed to forget about God.You're no longer associated with the Vineyards?
If truth has any relevance at all regarding faith and practice, then we should be questioning others regarding the foundations upon which they are trusting. Otherwise, when the storm comes and your neighbours house is built on sand, is swept away, and you didn't warn him, God will require of you his blood.
Do we leave others in their ignorance in order to be nice? Or do we with love and patience reveal their error?
Enoch was asking you... Not telling you what you believe... But asking. And I thought it was a good question as it is a very interesting passage he quoted. Would love to know what or who it referred to.
Trusting in the correct Jesus is not a theology test.
Tell me: when you arrive at (metaphorically speaking) St Peter & the pearly gates, does he hand you a scantron test and admit you based on your head's ability to get a passing score?Sorry, but that is a sorry misrepresentation of what is taking place. We are not talking about the difference between trusting in a make believe Hollywood version of Jesus who is easily discerned as fake, and the biblical Jesus Who is the only Way Truth And Life. Jesus said there would in the last days be many false Christs. Even the Antichrist Himself would be a counterfeit. You do not get $99 counterfeits. Your spaghetti Monster is a$99 note. Your Jesus is a $100 counterfeit... Maybe. And based on the left field beliefs your church holds so dearly, I think anyone had every right to challenge those foundations... You are the one who has built your house on them... You are the one who needs to be able to answer those challenges for your own good.
looks like more info is going to be needed on Lds. lots of cloudiness ,i work with a guy who joined there are degrees of worksTell me: when you arrive at (metaphorically speaking) St Peter & the pearly gates, does he hand you a scantron test and admit you based on your head's ability to get a passing score?
Or is salvation based upon one's heart accepting Christ and following Him?
Theology is super important, but it's NOT what saves a person.
I find that often Protestant Christians misunderstand LDS Christian theology in this way. Both groups outwardly reject the idea of "cheap grace" (that you can shallowly say "yeah I believe" and then be ok continuing your exact same sin-loving ways), but Protestants don't understand that LDS Christians mean it. Things done for God our out of love, not out of trying to "earn" salvation.looks like more info is going to be needed on Lds. lots of cloudiness ,i work with a guy who joined there are degrees of works
this is why you post as much info there is only 2 things i know of certainty on Lds the joseph smith book and death baptism. i will reject smith and death baptism. i need more info .I find that often Protestant Christians misunderstand LDS Christian theology in this way. ( That's not saying that Protestant don't mean it either).

"Cheap grace" is a heretical idea that it's ok for a person can just shallowly say "yes I believe" and then treat it cheaply: having no real change of heart, nothing altering in their life, and just continuing about their exact same-old sinful ways. It is completely heretical idea.there is no such thing as cheap Grace. Grace came at a very high cost
Long years after I was out of the Catholic Church I looked as you did at what was taught and compared it where I could with the scriptures. In very many cases I found an openness and an honesty and full explanations of why they do according to the scriptures. This was good.well, speaking for myself,
I was a Protestant Christian for about 20 years before I joined the RCC
I was a Presbyterian youth minister, at the time
I studied the Bible regularly
Honestly, after reading the Catechism,
I was shocked to find it so Biblically grounded
You should read it sometime

I have, however, myself, in my own experience found something better in that which God is writing on my heart. It includes scripture but goes beyond it. This is not adding to... , but rather explaining more fully from time to time what God means when it is "written" also with ink on paper pages.
Brother, no matter what any of the people here on this forum may say or insinuate, we can be certain that not one of them has the whole picture with 100% clarity. The clarity, where it does exist, on any point is in the hearts of people who are, or are to be parts of the Body of Christ. I believe that that 100% is available, but usually it is found within several people. The one person who has it all may exist, but until we also have it all, how can we definitely recognize them?yes. I understand
We need to go where we find God.
I can’t say the Catholic Church is perfect
It is the right place for me
I am grateful that I was introduced to God in a Protestant environment
It was a nurturing place and God healed me through others
I can’t say I have found a similar experience within Catholicism
Yet, the history and prayer life are why I stay

When my neighbors witnessed to me starting 1974 by their lives, I had no experience at all with the things of God except what I recalled from my Catholic days. I had never owned or read a Bible. It was the fruit of the Spirit that attracted me, but I had not idea at time that there was such a thing... at least not so named. They never pressed us to do anything, but they always responded to questions which I seldom asked at the time. We lived in an apartment under them less than a year. In 1976 it was through their witness already long time past that my wife and I received God's call to us in the midst of our failing marriage and turmoil. Because of the witness, without knowing the Bible or anything of their church affiliation or doctrine, we came to God. Our walk with God and our marriage continue to this day...If truth has any relevance at all regarding faith and practice, then we should be questioning others regarding the foundations upon which they are trusting. We don't leave someone in ignorance who expresses a desire to change their situation. Jesus did not knock on his neighbor's door. They all came to him. They were drawn by the Father, even as my wife and I were drawn by the Light we observed in our neighbors. Keep the Light shining always, but don't push. Let God do that. We simply are to be available when He decides He wants to use us. His choice of when, where and why... not mine. Not my will, but Thine!Do we leave others in their ignorance in order to be nice? Or do we with love and patience reveal their error?
And if @Jane_Doe22 did not have the correct answer, according to you or @Enoch111 would that mean she had no connection with the Real Jesus?Enoch was asking you... Not telling you what you believe... But asking. And I thought it was a good question as it is a very interesting passage he quoted. Would love to know what or who it referred to.
Absolutely not! So why the examination by men which effectively questions her beliefs because of her affiliation. I may not agree with all Catholic or LDS or SDA doctrine, but I do believe that within each and every one of the three groups there are people who do know the real Jesus. He is not hiding from hungry hearts!Trusting in the correct Jesus is not a theology test.
Jesus said that there would be many who will expect to receive a welcome because they "believed in Jesus", and He will tell them, I never knew you. So who was the Jesus they believed in? Who are the false Christs that deceive so many people, those crowding the wide road to destruction? How do I know I have the true Christ... How do you know... How does anyone know that the Christ they are trusting in, the Christ they believe is the one that has led them thus far to their various churches, home groups, denominations, sects or whatever, is the same Jesus who now mediates on your behalf on heaven, perhaps desperately trying to get through to them regarding the right way, but they aren't listening, because their ears are tuned to another? How do we know?Tell me: when you arrive at (metaphorically speaking) St Peter & the pearly gates, does he hand you a scantron test and admit you based on your head's ability to get a passing score?

It's knwoing and having a relationship with, not a scantron.Jesus said that there would be many who will expect to receive a welcome because they "believed in Jesus", and He will tell them, I never knew you. See Amadeus we are not so different in how we got here. When my neighbors witnessed to me starting 1974 by their lives, I had no experience at all with the things of God except what I recalled from my Catholic days. When I attended that little church back in 1976 and met Jesus I could not have answered any question about the scriptural basis for what happened to me. Does that mean that the Jesus I met was the wrong one?
So then back to her question: Do we need to be a theologian do be saved?
Absolutely not! So why the examination by men which effectively questions her beliefs because of her affiliation.
