Does scripture say that Israel will make peace with the king of the north...for 3.5 years and then destruction for 3.5 years?
Dear H2S,
Some people observe that in Scripture a "double-statement" has greater significance. But I would go further, -- I'd propose that it's "log scale", like the earthquake "Richter Scale" where each number increment, (from 4.0 to 5.0) is TEN times greater magnitude.
As such, where most people can quote an ENTIRE CHAPTER of Scripture with a few prompts, without even being aware that they can, -- Psalms 23 --, if a person examined Psalms 24 they'd find not just a "double-statement", but a DOUBLE "double-statement", which by my opinion is not just "1", but is 1,000 times more important than any regular Scriptural passage:
7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory!Selah
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory!Selah
... and so we find the "going forth of the word to establish and rebuild Jerusalem". And then some seven years later an ANOINTED David Ben Gurion came on the scene as the "Father of Israel"; and "AFTER" another sixty-two years later an ANOINTED Yitzhak Rabin was ASSASSINATED.
So to your question, then the 1993 seventieth LITERAL "WEEK OF YEARS" in which there was a SEVEN YEAR PEACE ACCORD, called the Dayton/Oslo. And now some 30 years later we're waiting for the a/c which "shall come".
Dan. 9:27 ...and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
And as asserted previously all this occurs in MODERN HISTORY, -- not ancient! :)
