how does this verse apply to your claim?
Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Baptised into Christ..
I declared as an outward confession of my faith in Jesus Christ by publicly portraying a resemblence of my dying to self in the Baptism of repentace, turning from a sinful death of not Knowing God, and walking in a new life Knowing God.
By faith I believe that I died to this old way of life of doing it my way, to a new way of life doing it His way.
The putting on of Christ can be seen in a sense in Ephesians chapter 6.
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
It is also walking in His righteousness, his mercy, his grace, his commandments and his testimony.
And carrying ones own cross until the ego is dead. The you, that wants to control what you want.
That "you" no longer dominant in me. I have no desires in this world other than to serve the Lord, with the abilities he has given me.
Although that "you" has a nasty way of rearing it's head from time to time. I ask Jesus to help me put it away for good.
That's the cross we all must bear until we reach the promised land.
