Just look at the Middle Eastern Christians and Christians living in other persecuted nations in Africa, in Asia, the majority of them are living without weapons, and they are probably the strongest Christians in the world.
Most of them have been killed Josho, the history in such places proves this. oh and the media don't point such goings on in them places as well.

As for Australia we once had rights you know and near everyone had a gun and no one gave such a second thought as being a problem until the drug culture came in and a low life virtue less type started to gain power.
RSL President Bruce Rucston pointed it all out as to history of dictators taking away peoples guns and standing over peoples rights.

So yes I am all for gun control only because of the crap culture that we now have of people only worthy of being called a boy and not worthy of being a Man.
I remember the days when our police did not have to carry a gun and now they have to, why because many people now are trash. the idiots have a go at the police. talk about stupid mouthing off at the police, what are they on drugs or is it a 3rd rate culture that we now have that creates this crap and all the worse have guns and such people are still shooting others all the time.

Go have a look at our hospitals and what the guards have to deal with everyday, trash ! and our Ambulance people get bashed I have seen it my self, what person goes and kicks a Ambo who is helping someone, I would have such a one kicked out of the State after they served jail time.

When I had a SKK semiautomatic and no one was bothered about it, but now people would have a mental breakdown just to hear you have such a thing. Oh no guns kill people, no they don't gutless morons who have no virtue are the problem, first deal with that problem and the main problem goes away, send them off the boot camp to make men out of the weak minded gutless slobs.

It all starts in the schooling they are only creating trash people now in fact, if kids want to fight bring it on in the ring for them to have a go with rules, the problem nowadays is they have no rules when fighting, so they will go to far, you see this all the time nowadays. not to mention gangs are allowed to run wild.

Forgetting the constitution for a moment, what do you personally believe? Although I am not personally a gun owner I believe in the right to defend ourselves and property.

As long as I'm in this flesh, not gonna make it easy for Evil to have it's way with me or my family and friends. God Bless You!

In today's climate of anger, dissent and me first I think carrying weapons is dangerous.

That was Jesus telling them to do it then. What does or would he say today?
the question is....was it that Jesus was telling them to get rid of a portion of clothing and get a blade?....think about it!

When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. if you don’t have a sword (gun) sell your cloak and buy one.

There are so many guns and ammunition in America that if there were people trying to escape the cities during the apocalypse they will get mowed down in the suburbs.

Nevermind all the panicked snipers in the countryside.

Fear will kill more people simply walking down the road than anything else.

I believe in trusting in the living God of the Bible to protect me and mine. I don't have to kill anyone, like Satan's children do.

Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you'll be saved, you and your household.

Like Satan's children? Are you including pretty much almost every single prophet of the Old Testament in that category, including King David?

@April_Rose I believe in turning the other cheek, but I also believe that we have a responsibility to protect. For example, if there was a shooter then would I say better one dangerous life gone than countless innocent people. Ecclesiastes 3:3 states that there is a time for everything, including "a time to kill."

There are even some Amish who are supposed to be complete pacifists, but don't think that a lot of them aren't wise and ready to defend their families if it came down to it. And also, since many are hunters, it's common for the Amish men to have a collection.

Care to humor us and elaborate then?
Do you recall Jesus saying 'he who takes up the sword dies by the sword?' Will he now contradict himself by telling his mates to invest in weapons and be cold in the winter?

Both the word sword and clothing are used in scripture as metaphors at different times. Sword is used as the word of God and clothing as a covering. That which we are covered by and that which is used to break down evil strongholds.

Interpreting so the scripture is consistent is necessary if its message is to be clear.

lol....my point is, you don't get what Jesus is saying.
Hi QT,

The OP stated "what do you personally believe" sooooooo I am not sure that it matters what Jesus is saying in those passages since I am expressing my personal belief using Scripture..... therefore your attempt to suggest I am ignorant of "what Jesus is saying" has no bearing on my response to the OP. I am expressing my personal belief....not interpreting Christ's words. Goodness.....:p

Besides that you Protestants believe that anyone can properly interpret Scripture as long as they feel like they are being enlightened by the Holy Spirit sooooooo even if I was giving my interpretation of those passages it would be just as valid as yours. ;)

None the less......Please be my Holy Spirit and enlighten me with your interpretation of what Jesus is saying in those passages (Luke 22:36 and Luke 11:21).

Keeping it real.....Mary
