Should we pray for tribulation?

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." Rom 5:1-5

Or should we pray that our faith be tried?

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." James 1:2-4

Perhaps this is why I often pray in tongues which I do not myself understand! If I understood might I want to keep my mouth shut?

I don't know how to pray in tongues but are you saying that we should pray to have patience for other people?

Already ate. I'm going out to supper tonight though at Texas Roadhouse. It's my first time going out to eat in about a year. :)

Oh wow, that's funny, we just got one of those over here and I hear good things about them...they got roadkill and some rattle snake stuff, etc...but I haven't got around to going.

We need to be patient with other people certainly! Also we need to be patient with God. God is never late even though we may think He is because the answer seems to be so important to us. Let God decide when it it time...

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:29-31

So what do you do to be patient with other people when they're making you upset? And what do you mean being patient with God?

Hey everybody, instead of a lesson today where I'm the teacher,.. now it's your turn to teach me. Cause today's topic covers patience and I'm not just talking about patience for doing things that you want to do, I'm talking about patience when it comes to dealing with other people that might upset you. Does anybody got any advice or Bible verses that cover this? Also, just like I was saying yesterday you guys have homework today so here's your first assignment. :)

Tomorrow's topic is all about manners and not just the kind of manners where you say "please," "thank you," and "you're welcome." It's also how you act towards other people and say things so your assignment is to go out somewhere in public whether it be a restaurant, the movies, or just for a walk down the street and observe how other people around you are behaving and if they seem to have good manners, bad manners, or maybe even both. Also reflect on your own manners if you're saying hi to people, smiling at them, or saying excuse me if you're getting too close together with them since it's still social distancing time. Make sure you remember all of that for tomorrow since that will be our discussion and good luck!! :D (I'm going out to eat tonight myself so I'm going to be doing it too. :) )

Good question! Very simply, if you're in a position where you feel like a geyser about to go off, let the person know calmly that you need space, go alone and pray with God, and keep quiet. Sometimes if I'm really angry with a person I need to let them know that I need a minute to figure out how to articulate what I need to in a thoughtful way.

I had to learn a lot about empathy, too, and learning how to communicate with difficult people.

Scriptural references:

Holding Your Tongue

"Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless."

Be Articulate If You Do Speak

James 1:26

"There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." - James 12:18

Proverbs 18:1-8 and James 3:1-12 points out direct instructions for dealing with these kinds of situations and the main focus is usually to hold your tongue - and then forgiveness is essential! You won't feel like it at the time, but you can put it into place by letting it go.
