I was afraid of this . . . I had meant that God is successfully working on you.

Much love!

"I had meant that God is successfully working on you." <--- Gotcha! Lol.

Oh yes he is working on me marks! He's brought me a very long way...only took so long because of my refusal to submit ALL things to Him  lol. Once I did sincerely submit everything (especially that sin that "so beset me") that was when, after decades! - that I finally understood how sufficient His Grace surely was! I "got it". He is SOOO good...I want to be continually grateful for every breath I take, every thing He gives me...and also the things He takes. I trust Him like never before ♥

In Him always!

You know, Nancy, I think this is the flaw with this doctrine of total depravity. Yes, we as humanity are depraved. But we fall short if we just look at man. We look at God to lift us out. And a God that doesn't desire all is less loving then the God that does. And God is the pinnacle of love.

In Him!

Amen to that! My God also, is the "pinnacle of Love" ♥ Just as He is the pinnacle of every one of His characteristics. His goodness is boundless as are His mercies (love that one, new every day!) and all of the other perfect facets of our perfect God. The Gospel is not called the "good news" for nothing! And, certainly not only for an elite group of people but, for ALL!
In The Name Above ALL Names!

I guess this is where we differ. I see the context set forth in scripture is as important as what is being said .ie the very words being used .
Blessings

My pov is that the plain meaning of the text (cf. 2 Corinthians 3:12 (kjv)) will never be truly contradicted or nullified by the context.

There is no challenge.
Saying "there's no challenge" to someone who is challenging you is possibly the weakest response that anyone can make when challenged.
You are posting like a horses azz.
Better to post like one than make points as worthless as that which drops out of one :)
your constant attacks show you as an accuser of the brethren, which is closer to the work of satan than any cal ever posts.
Please learn the diff between criticism of a person's views and the person himself.
You make accusations because you cannot articulate any scriptural position of any substance. man up and try and use some scripture if you can. I am not holding my breath as i see your weak drive by posts as quite lame.
"Man up"? Brother, I stood up to a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION and got fired (and later exonerated by God's grace) for refusing to disobey God's commandments, while the fact that you hide behind your "exclusivity religion" in order to escape having to choose between serving God or sin only serves to prove you need some manning up.
Plenty of texts and arguments have been presented to you "exclusivity religionists" by us "inclusivity religionists , but if your desire to be "specially chosen" blinds you to the truth, that's not my problem.

And you STILL have yet to explain why your religion so closely resembles Lucifer's religion when the two should be as far from one another as possible.

That’s my opinion as well , but Romans like each Book as originally written in the Bible is with out chapters or verses we can’t isolate one passage or verse it needs to be taken as a whole ie context.

but if your desire to be "specially chosen" blinds you to the truth, that's not my problem.

Your drivel is juvenile and tiring. That said I will address the above for the sake of others, and hopefully you as well.

Just for the record, with you and your pseudo-philosophical ramblings which are devoid of Scripture or biblical truths, all who are in Christ were "specially chosen." And he is going to save each and everyone he has chosen; 2 Timothy 2:8-10; John 6:39-40; 2 Peter 3:9.

It appears you're really ticked off at God over all this like the Romans 9:20 man. My hope is you will bow your knee to him and his ways and come to repentance; 2 Peter 3:9.

Here's the text showing how we're all (those who are saved and believe the one true Gospel and LORD) "specially chosen" 1 Corinthians 1:26-31; plus these; 1 Thessalonians 1:4; Ephesians 1:4; Titus 1:1; Romans 8:33. Look at that! It's all over the place in Scripture! :)

There's also the "special enlightening" for these "specially chosen ones" as well because, except for God, none would see the truth; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 1:15-23; Matthew 11:25-30.

I'm fairly certain all the inhabitants of hell ridicule his people in the same manner as you are doing. Think that through, there is a bitterness in you, a resentment toward the truth and the God of truth.

Since all the above is true, and for the fact that you mock it and God's ways, I'm certain it is clear where that would leave any person that rejects and ridicules it. I say this not in glee, not in mockery, but in concern as this is your daily penchant as we continue to build the biblical case against you.

@Preacher4Truth Hi. A while back you said, correctly, that we should all examine ourselves as per Paul's instruction to see if we are in the faith. What would you suggest we ought to do if upon investigating ourselves, we find ourselves deficient?

Non-Calvinists DO NOT deny that those who are saved are also specially chosen, and are called the elect according to God's foreknowledge.

The difference is that Calvinists wrongly teach that God chooses some for salvation and others for damnation, whereas the Bible says that God chooses the ones who are saved for PERFECTION AND GLORIFICATION, and the making of a Royal Priesthood. And that God is ultimately glorified in and through the Church because of this. That is exactly what we see in Romans 8 and the book of Ephesians (as well as other Scriptures).
