Okay, just so you understand this is only my opinion, the way I see it is, we are His body, I don't believe for one minute there was an ounce of fear of man involved in this metophysical occurrence.i believe the anguish was a result of having knowledge of the suffering inflicted to His body over the proceeding mellinials?
That's an interesting thought!

This is what I've been studying and praying about too!

Just like you wrote!

I'm starting to form an idea of the fear of the Lord being something that we are 'inside of'.

Exodus 20
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Don't be afraid of God, that His fear may be before you.

So the fear of God isn't being afraid of Him.

Isaiah 29
22 Therefore thus saith the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

Rather than being ashamed, rather than growing pale, Jacob will see the children God gave to him, and will sanctify, and fear God. When he sees God keep His promises, he will sanctify and fear Him.

Jeremiah 33
6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

Fear and tremble for the all the goodness and prosperity that God will bring to them.

There's something to think about!

Nothing can stop God from doing whatever it is He wants. Nothing!

I've been considering the thought that the fear of God is having a deeper appreciation of the fearsomeness of God. There seem to be several passages that link those who fear God as being those who are hoping for His mercy.

In that our two commandments are to trust Jesus and love others, the fear of God will promote both faith in Chrsit and love for others, a true faith, and a true love.

Much love!

Occasionally I get a sense of how the Lord uses everything to weave a thread of what is possible. We try to see with our own understanding, but things are far deeper in His ways.

His will is unstoppable, but we can become part of it, or be chaff cast aside. Reality comes about at focused places and times. It is a privilege to be there, when things can move. Fear of the Lord is acknowledging this wonder and how small we are. It is also liberating to know love drives Him forward, and He calls us to work with Him in His grace.

Listening to the Spirit moving in us matters. It costs but it is also life. I wonder at the pain, yet without feeling it how can we see resolution or need. Sin binds the lost because they defend without hope, a losing battle but nothing else to fight for.

Jesus sweated blood for us, bore the worst we could give and overcame. He calls us to walk His path, so unless we know these places how can we ever know the language of heaven or its love. It is a profound mystery to share in His sufferings, to be privileged like this. I have rarely heard anyone touch on such a thing.

When you lift the lid on people's lives, there are some truly hard realities to see and tears to cry. God bless you

Well, if he was afraid then this would conflict with,

Matthew 10:28 KJV
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Thats because so few are willing and because few desire to speak of Christ. Religion and the bible, which religion is right, and who is right with the understanding of the bible. One came on said, no one writes about Jesus, than never wrote anything.

Something top do with, they worship me with there lips but there hearts are far from Me. Started a topic months ago like 20 people responded, shows where the hearts of men are.

One thing you do have credit for, at least you speak of the things of God, we may not see eye to eye on everything but we only have a piece of the puzzle not all.

God bless

My friend, it takes time to learn about another, their expressions, their experience, their heart, their way, and their walk.
Each believer is unique, and often has their own emphasis. Forums often limit this so much, people think they are talking the same approach, but in reality some are different faiths, while others use different words but say the same thing.

I have seen enemies agree about a third party, when actually they strongly dislike each other, if they understood where they were coming from. I have had enemies, who I testified to about my walk, and theirs was the same, it was just how they put a few sentences together that misled the interaction. And funnier still, some contributors are just nuts. I would rank flat earthers in this group and possibly the everything is a conspiracy group. But hey, Gods grace has been a great blessing to me, so I will give grace to as many as I can.

So thank you for your complement about speaking the things of God. I come to forums to explore issues that in church you would not touch on, and are truly deep in theological sense, and often lost on most. Today I learnt of a guy I knew 25 years ago, who now appears to have become an agnostic, after being a committed christian. Some of his positions declare quite simply he has not begun to see some of the real issues and tensions in life, and reality. In a lot of culture there is a thought that if God was obvious people would love Him. The truth is if God was giving away success packages, people would take them and blow them and ignore Him like Israel did in the desert, time and time again.

Like I said, so few are interested in the things of God, can count the number on two hands, you do post really good stuff, I wish people would see, but until they put religion and men behind them and persue after the one in whom is the life of al men, they will never see.

My friend, I have wondered about such things my whole life. My answer is to be a light, to speak truth to power, to be still and know who is God.

Jesus will do the rest. Jesus is our teacher and Lord. The answers are always there if we are willing to have faith and walk. God bless you.

know who is God.
Should be "know God".

Act 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Act 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

He is there if we but Ask

I stand at teh door knocking.
