    Forsaken

You make too many assumptions, Steve. I never made the" cosmic child abuse" argument. This is a smoke screen. You can put that card back in your deck. I never called you a heretic. You can rest easy that you do not have that "honor by the likes of me". The idea God separated from Christ is a...

    Forsaken

I agree with the definition that you provide in post # 62. In that post you define "forsake" as to "withdraw one's help". If you view "abandon" as a synonym for "withdrawing ones help" that is fine. I view Christ as being forsaken to suffer the cross in that God withdrew His help in delivering...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

"Fake evidence" seems to be a growing problem. I have witnessed many forfeit their integrity simply by not checking out the evidence of their claims. This is a huge issue on social media. I can't count the times I have read propaganda forwarded on Facebook by good intentioned Christians. It...

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

Why is it people can read the Bible and still look for salvation that is God's righteous manifested through the Law?

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

I am not Lord of the Sabbath. Christ is. I observe the Sabbath to which the Mosaic Law was but a shadow. I have never been under the Mosaic Law. I am not a descendent of Abraham in that sense and my High Priest is not a Levite. I am a "child of Promise", a spiritual descendent of Abraham (not...

    What is the mustard seed?

Peach seeds (they are inside peach pits). Lima bean seeds produce bad fruit.

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

I have not addressed your questions, you are right. This is because I do observe the Sabbath (I have entered into the Sabbath to which the Law testified). I have no interest in treading upon the blood of Christ by turning back to "Egypt". Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man...

    What is the mustard seed?

I am not sure of your question. Quantity of faith (the allegory to which I am referring is of a measurement of faith, illustrating that the audiences lack of faith). And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard...

    What is the mustard seed?

In the allegory the seed illustrates quantity.

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

My faith is Christ. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only e begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him...

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

Yes. I do know. I made a statement that I observe the greater Sabbath (the Sabbath to which the Law pointed) without defending that faith. But my question is specific... Would you prefer to keep the Mosaic Law in regards to resting on the seventh day or actually enter into the Sabbath to which...

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

I do keep the Sabbath (the Sabbath to which the Mosaic Law pointed). Do you, or do you turn back to "Egypt"? Do you know the greater Sabbath to which the Mosaic Law pointed?

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

Why is resting on the seventh day a benefit for man?

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

Again, Christians do not disregard the Sabbath. They do not hold the Mosaic Law (and do not keep the seventh day as prescribed under the Law) but they do keep the Sabbath. I believe you are confused on this issue.

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

@shnarkle , I think we all know the command under the Mosaic Law to keep the Sabbath, and that the seventh day of the week is Saturday. We know that it was instituted as a "day of rest". But what do you believe is the significance of the Sabbath? How do you believe that the Sabbath should be...

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

It is very interesting that you interpret (I take it both James and Paul as they address the topic) that the "early church, including gentile converts kept the Sabbath along with the rest of the Mosaic law because that was what was required". I am not exactly sure how you arrive at this...

    What is the mustard seed?

Perhaps Jesus spoke allegorically. The mustard seed is, of course, not the smallest of seeds in the world or even among the seeds known to Jesus' audience. But it was a common seed and a good illustration to carry the teaching.

Does the day of Christ resurrection tell us to worship on Sunday?

This is a curious thread. The earliest Christians were Jews who did observe the Sabbath (this was not only a religious issue but related to national identity). But thus does not mean the early church (inclusive of Gentiles) observed the Sabbath. The thought that Sunday replaced Saturday as the...

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

I think these two most often (perhaps always) occur when people turn to Scripture to validate theology rather than deriving theology from Scripture. It happens much more than it should. Biblical illiteracy is a problem in our churches today.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

I think it is often the other way around. Doctrines are not necessarily affected by modern versions (most who develop doctrines know that our English bibles are translations and study beyond the translated words). The biggest concern, IMHO, is how much our doctrines affect and have affected...
