Is it possible to lose salvation?

@marks I'm leaving now till tomorrow. Could you explain the difference between the Mosaic Covenant and the New Covenant? Do you think there is a difference? What is it? Did God require obedience of the Israelites but not of us?

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Yes. I'm saying that God requires our obedience in order to stay saved.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Who said you have to be prefect? Same ole' strawman I've been hearing for 10 years. Let's make this easy.... Answer this question plainly and simply: IS IT NECESSARY TO OBEY GOD AFTER BECOMING SAVED? All that stuff you write seems to hint at the fact that we could obey, or we could not...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I'm not making this into anything. YOU are the one posting a belief system that is not found in the bible. I reserve the right to disagree with you and I post scripture to support what I state. All you have to do is do the same. I don't find any verses in the NT that state that God does NOT...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Actually, I understand both points of view too because we all read the bible and we have to come to understand it. The problem is that we bring our own experiences to scripture and then we end up making excuses for what we believe when what Jesus taught is very plain to read and understand.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I don't see any scripture to which I could respond. The rest is YOUR OPINION... which, BTW, is NOT biblical. GOD DEMANDS obedience from those that are saved. JESUS SAID. John 14:15 15“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. Luke 6:46 46“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Take it easy Ezra. No. The other member does not get it because those that believe as HE does do not WANT to get it. They want to believe that it's not necessary to obey God. They are the blind leading the blind and falling off the cliff. I post here to open the eyes of those that believe...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Faith in Christ. Doing good works as CHRIST directed us to do. Jesus died on that cross for you marks. How about doing YOUR part?? Yes sir,,,unlike youself,,I DO believe that we are to obey God: John 3:36 36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

YOUR words K. Don't accuse ME of saying YOUR words: Let's look again: Here's what you stated in no. 653 "Anyway, if you'd read through my posts in this thread, you'd know that I've already thoroughly answered this question. In short: No it is not necessary to obey God in order to remain His...

WHAT IS THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5?

It's not good that there are only a few. But, look around you, do most believe God exists? Do they worship Him if they do? Jesus knew what He was talking about. Do you see many??

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Agreed 100% I wonder WHY it's so difficult for some to state that, yes, we must obey God. There must be a reason, but I don't know it. You're quoting Romans 6:16 Yes sir. I plan on presenting myself to our Lord... I plan on obeying Him... I scream this from the roof tops... and when I don't, I...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

That's being a good Christian... Double down on teaching that it's not necessary to obey God. Here's what you stated in no. 653 "Anyway, if you'd read through my posts in this thread, you'd know that I've already thoroughly answered this question. In short: No it is not necessary to obey God...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Perseverance of the Saints is a Reformed/Calvinist teaching. It states that if God has chosen someone to be saved, that person WILL be saved because God will keep him that way. God keeping someone, to the calvinist, means that the person has no choice. So, it is not because the person WANTS...

WHAT IS THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5?

I've always felt that I know very little of the OT. It would require much more study than I'm able to handle, and I really admire those that know so much about it. Like you ! (You know, the Catholic priest is very much like the OT priests. If they teach that we are all priests, as it's...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

I've read all 3 of your posts to me. I am having no further conversation with you. The reason is that there seems to be a communication problem and I'm not here to correct communication problems. I'm here to state that OSAS is NOT biblical, is not taught in scripture and was never believed by...

WHAT IS THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5?

I'm not sure about John 3:5. Sometimes I think it's referring to the water of baptism... sometimes I like the idea that it's the water of birth, physical birth, It helped me a lot to hear that it might be physical birth. IOW,,,,man is born - that is one birth. Then man should also be spritually...

WHAT IS THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5?

Mary was more spiritual. Martha was more practical. One wanted to feed her spiritual part, and one wanted to feed her physical part. Well, in the case of Jesus it's not overwhelming because He was God (is God) and He did what He was supposed to do.... be the perfect lamb as in Exodus 12:5 5...

WHAT IS THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5?

Interesting... The CC here does teach that we are each a priest. Of course they don't really explain what that means, to the laity... some bible study would be nice. I used to go to a good study with a Catholic monk, for about 12 years, (boy time flies by)...but he stopped with Covid and never...

WHAT IS THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5?

John said there will be one that baptizes with fir and spirit. The difference between John's baptism and Jesus' baptism is the same difference found in the Mosaic Covenant and the New Covenant. The requirements are the same. The method is different. In the Mosaic Covenant it depended on the...
