Can one be saved while they are all alone?

That would be one definition, but not the meaning that I presented. The prophets of old were a precedence, in that they came before by the same Spirit. In which they did, not at the hand of another, but by the spirit of God only.

Can one be saved while they are all alone?

You have that backwards... It was the lack of the Holy Spirit in Samaria, and the preaching and baptism that was ineffective. It was not the apostolic presents either, because Phillip had gone first then Peter and John who went and prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit. Thus, it is the...

Pray for the children we are keeping in cages

Why just pray and criticize? Why don't you hire a medical staff and buy some medical supplies and toothbrushes, and be a doer rather than a complainer? You are making a humanitarian issue into a political issue. What do you hope to accomplish? That someone else will fix things? Or perhaps you...

Can one be saved while they are all alone?

That is why I said they are the "precedence", rather than them being an exact example. But those examples of Peter and the early church that you give, do not make void God's overshadowing prophecy to pour out His spirit upon all flesh. On the contrary, the "equipping of the saints" includes a...

Can one be saved while they are all alone?

The precedence is the prophets of old, and according to the promise of God to pour out His spirit upon all flesh during theses times foretold by Joel, promised by Christ, and confirmed by Peter. The Spirit came upon His chosen and still does.

Does anyone believe in Evolution anymore?

Sorry for being facetious. So...how do you, or do you at all, explain the biblical narrative?

    You mean fashion trends?

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

There is nothing wrong with your position. You have stated it quite well enough. But some will go beyond what is in the heart to also examine every jot and tittle. In which case the argument is futile, for having looked past the heart, they have looked past God also.

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

You may win here on a technical level regarding the semantics of what is written, but loose by the spirit of what is written. There is perhaps a better way to point out that love for Christ is technically not what saves us. But putting scripture against scripture is not the way.

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

I wasn't addressing that point, but rather that the scriptures are not to be used as a tit-for-tat argument when there are other passages that would not draw the conclusion that you have. Scripture must reconcile with itself, as there is no contradiction with God. But if Jane Doe has...

    2 Timothy 3

God pouring out his spirit upon all flesh (on the evil as well as the good) has manifest "a form of godliness" in some during these times, that is anything but His will. Was there something specific that you are not following?

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

Nonetheless, if you will hear the whole counsel of the word and receive it, that one passage does not make these others void: John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My...

    2 Timothy 3

This is the fulfillment of God pouring His spirit out, not on some, but on "all flesh", spoken by Joel the prophet, promised by Jesus, and confirmed by Peter. By the mouth of two or three. By which all things good and evil are made manifest until the end. They are here..."For wherever the...

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

You just don't get it... That "great number of teachers" is known by their great number. But here you are taking up with that greater number, claiming that the few are the greater, and that the few are the ones with itching ears hearing what they want to hear...which is against what Paul...

    Cut off from Christian History

Indeed, you are a Christian. And never doubt the appearance of a cloud overhead--in your case, it is God.

    Cut off from Christian History

That last question is not biblical. Study is good, but do be careful. Solomon was correct: "Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh." When history repeats itself, then beware. But if it does not, then you will never know if God has meant for good, what...

    Top Praise and Worship Songs

Here's one about King David. Bet you had no idea. :) Notice the first verse is about David and ends with a confession of his adulterous affair with Bathsheba ("I'm the one"). Then the second verse is about the prophesied son of David, Jesus Christ, his miracles, and the Bride of Christ speaking...

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

That's great! Yes, there is both...and in the world we do need both. The original post poses the question of at some point in spiritual maturity not needing the written word...and that is a specific consideration. But, yes, here and now we do need and rely on both, and should, both are from God...

Mature Spiritual Christians No Longer Need the Written Word?

People will believe what they will believe. But this is a Christian forum, and to think that anyone here would believe that if they were One with the Word, Jesus Christ Himself, that they would still need a bible...is rather bizarre.
