Exactly, not actual eternal life but the promise thereof. Pretty much what I said for about 3 or 4 posts.
So how does a believer lose eternal life if he already has it? It's God's promise, not ours right?

Are you being deliberately obtuse or just playing around? If a person doesn't actually have eternal life but does have the promise thereof and he is not claimed by Jesus when Jesus returns as a believer then Jesus can't give them eternal life. Why is this so difficult for you to comprehend?

If you have eternal life you also have the promise Stan. It is the deluxe package.

The promise of eternal life does not mean you have eternal life otherwise you wouldn't need the promise. Again don't quite understand how you don't get that?

You still haven't answered my question about Hebrews 9:27?

Yes Stan, it does. The promise of eternal life means you have eternal life. That is why it is called a promise. Oh boy.

Heb 9:27, right everyone dies, that's why we can be certain now that we will be a part of the first resurrection.

Then if you actually have eternal life why are you dying? Oh boy is right! Do you know what the word vacillate means?

Now you're just going around in circles ATP. We already agreed many posts back now that we have the promise, BUT you keep on trying to change that into HAVING the actual gift of eternal life, which we can't and don't have and is easily proven by the fact that we DIE. It's not just oh boy now, it's actually quite sad.

Stan, you're confusing the promise we have now to when the promise will be revealed to us. Why?

You're confusing the promise to receive eternal life when Jesus returns, to actually having eternal life before he returns. The promise is for the future not for now because if it was then Hebrew 9:27 would be a lie.

Where is your confidence Stan?

1 John 5:9-14 NIV / Psa 21:4 NIV We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Where is your answer? I am more than confident that you're afraid to answer this which is why you don't.
If you had confidence you would know you have the promise of eternal life now. Very simple.
