Hello, GISMYS. Hope you are well.
Listen, I hate to rain on your parade here, but this is a favorite verse of the Prosperity crowd, and unfortunately they interpret it in such a way as to turn actual New Testament teaching on its head. They put material wealth and health above spiritual concerns, but the verse carries a stipulation: "I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers." The problem with the Prosperity crowd is that the souls of many of those caught up in that movement are not actually prospering spiritually like they think they are. I'm familiar with the movement because I was caught up in it for a time several decades ago, and they are fed highly inaccurate interpretations of scripture they assume are true when they are not. The stress of New Testament teaching was on storing up treasures in Heaven, not in this earth (Matthew 6:20), and the general teaching was that blessed is the man who endures trials and hardships in this life, not the man who has it well (James 1:9-12). The reason was because he would receive far greater reward in the next. But for the rich, the scriptures often contained warnings about prospering at the expense of the poor (James 5:1-5). The same unfortunately applies to many of the preachers and teachers who are living in multi-million dollar mansions at the expense of the church.
Like I said, my intention is not to run you down here. But that verse always gets my attention as something many people lay stress on while ignoring the rest of the New Testament, to their detriment and the detriment of others.
God bless,
Hidden In Him
