John 3:17-18 KJV
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus taught that the two greatest commandments were to: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind"; and, "Love your neighbour as yourself." Thirdly he added a commandment "Love one another as I have loved you"; there is no greater love than when a man will lay down his life for a friend".
Obedience is the above! If we have the love of God then we want to do that which is pleasing to our Father by doing his will. His will can be found within his word for our discipleship. Obedience comes by the leading of his Spirit as we walk this path.
