It was horrifying to learn the number of arsonists arrested in this role scenario. Like 50 in NSW? And even a volunteer fireman in Victoria! What is it with people that would do such a thing? Insanity comes to mind... But demonic activity perhaps more so, or a combination of both.

We get the same here . Fire fighters who want work.. but more so the native indians...they want the work so they often set the fires...it always happens.

Thanks all for your prayers. Thankyou Lord for hearing and answering... At the moment light showers and cooler temperatures are outgoing across the whole area, but hot and dry conditions are expected later in the week. The are some communities in East Gippsland that have not been in contact and are still isolated and with no access. Scary what the authorities might find when they can get there. 25 deaths so far and several missing. There are 166 or so fires burning in New South Wales and Victoria, and another 100 or more in South Australia, western Australia, and Tasmania, some joining up with others, many uncontrolled. So far the area affected is about the size of West Virginia... Just for some perspective. The numbers of deaths and homes destroyed (so far around 1600) is expected to rise significantly.
Please keep praying, God is merciful and gracious... May He receive all the glory and may many come to know Him as a result of reaching out amidst this crisis.

Brakelite , I saw an area map of Australia from a satelight - I didn't realise that there are fires right across Australia - I thought it was mainly on one side.
Where is everyone heading for safety ?
Just praying for rain - or something that can turn this all around, definately needs a miracle.
That's awful about people starting fires, more so when it's not rocket science that it's going to spread and create so many problems with all the high temps over there at the moment.

It's raining now lightly and cooler, but hour temporaries expected later in the week. Two big fires are expected to join up at some time which had authorities very concerned... Such an occurrence creates is own dangerous weather. Ironically the rain now falling is hampering efforts to prepare for that.
Smoke everywhere today. Visibility and air quality very poor here in Melbourne.

Here’s a story from December headlined ‘Firebugs blamed for destructive Queensland fires’ — it notes: Figures obtained by AAP reveal 98 people – 31 adults and 67 juveniles – have been dealt with by Queensland police for deliberately setting fires. A 16-year-old boy was found to have started a fire that razed 14 homes in central Queensland and dealt with under the state’s Youth Justice Act. Two more teens, 14 and 15, were charged with endangering property by fire over a blaze that destroyed two homes and forced hundreds to flee.

Man-made culprit #2: well-meaning idiots who don’t understand that unless you manage forested areas with controlled burns, you’re going to end up with out-of-control wildfires. Jo Nova has a damning story about locals in East Gippsland in the state of Victoria who successfully stopped a planned controlled burn at Nowa Nowa. Two of them were pictured holding signs saying, “Spring burns kill baby birds alive” and “Stop burning nesting birds”. One grandmother was quoted as saying, “I’m more worried about climate change, and the impact the burns are having. I’m worried for my grandchildren.” ABC — the excruciatingly left-wing Australian Broadcasting Company, so woke it makes the BBC and CNN look like Fox News — reported on the protests with some enthusiasm last September but has since mysteriously decided to delete the story from Facebook.

If this is the kind of obstructive idiocy that the mainstream media and the junk-science climate alarmism industry have created with their global warming propaganda, then the mainstream media and the junk-science climate alarmism industry have blood on their hands.

Man-made culprit #3: Greens The people most to blame for the Australian bush fires are the greens. Just like in California, their tree-hugging Gaia worship blinded them to the reality that forests need regular clearance and maintenance if they are not to become a major fire hazard.

I have even seen firemen hosing so much crap that is better left to burn out, so that it's gone. you let all that crap burn out so it's less fuel if another fire comes through in the years ahead and that's the main problem that they don't understand, it's all about making sure that such fuel is kept down to a manageable task if a fire starts, so fire crew can say ok we are going into X and we can deal with it all within a regard to reasonable safety of fire fighters and homes, anything other than that is no excuse at all, someone has to take the blame if a house is burnt down.

I would not go into many places if I was in the fire crew nowadays even if I was a healthy young bloke, no way would I go into such places because the tracks and fire brake's are all over grown. It's hard getting a dirt bike through that stuff nowadays, we could not keep many tracks rideable as trees are down and it's all over grown, not even people walk through now in some places as they could get lost. real nice places that people would come out to camp and now it's all abandoned and the place looks like crap, all sorts of rubbish like lantana etc are a now shocking out of control.

Are in reality destroying them. I drove through Kinglake a few months ago where they had that mega fire that destroyed whole towns...2000 houses and a1000 other buildings in 2009. Arson and lightening caused that one... Not climate. Officials reckon arson and/negligence is responsible for %85 of fires for which no explanation can be determined... Which is a lot of fires. And apart from the black colour on the bark of the trees through Kinglake, the forest there is now doing great. In fact, once the undergrowth and debris is gone, the forest itself thrives... More light on the floor to give growth... More room on the floor to sprout seed. Sadly, in super heated fires that melt metal, the soil itself is burnt and damaged which takes a lot of time to recover.

I'm not Australian, although my great grandfather was born here, in Bendigo. I'm from New Zealand, 2000 ks over the ditch. Here in Melbourne where I have been living the past 3 years, we find ourselves in the middle, as in Sydney in NSW, of a Victorian disaster that is ongoing, and seemingly without any end any time soon. The smoke from the fires now raging in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, is so thick and widespread it is clearly affecting visibility in my home country 2000 ks away. This is unprecedented. Regardless of the why's of the current situation, we need rain. There are entire towns now being evacuated because they can no longer live in their own homes, either because they now don't have any, or that the danger is to great to stay. And the only escape route is by sea. The entire South East coast of Australia is either on fire now, or will be. The situation in NSW interior and coastal regions is no better. The area so far burnt is more than 15,000,000 acres. That's a quarter the size of NZ.
Tomorrow, Friday, is expected to be another extreme danger situation heat wise, with temperatures again threatening 110F.
It's time to pray please for all those in this country who are in imminent danger and are trapped... or homeless, without communications, food, or water. 1000s are affected. Please pray for Australia.

Time and time again the experts, the firies themselves have said one thing over and over again. The cause of the fires are laid fairly and squarely at the feet of the Greens politicians in the Federal government, who have locked up the forests so that deadwood on the floor cannot be removed. They are a tinderbox and it only needs one spark to set them alight.

A firey on TV said that the forests have been locked up by the Greens so there are no longer tracks to get into the forest, hence the deadwood and the fires. Of course, the Green Party in parliament is denying all this and instead shouting Climate Change from the rooftops. They reckon if we close down society and get rid of CO2, there will be no fires, only those that you have to light to warm you in the caves you live in.

To add stupidity to stupidity, A climate alarmist has said in public that up to 80 million animals have perished in the fires. Yes, that is right. It started at 40 million but as it gained traction in the mad stream media, the climate alarmist saw that it was no good ruining a good story by telling the truth, so it escalated each day.

And of course, we won't mention the 57 arsonists that the police are looking for. I for the life of me do not know how climate changes a person into an arsonist.

The farmers have been calling for years, along with anyone else with a head on their shoulders, to allow for back-burning and a reduction in fuel load. We were all patted on our heads, told we were stupid 'environmental harmer/deniers' and to go away. Well, the toss pot Greenies have achieved their goal to save the habitats and animals...not. Billions of animals dead. Lives lost. Fires still raging out of control. And, of course, pollies doing what they do best; covering their own butts and looking for others to blame.
If you were to believe anything you read on the main-stream media sites, you'd think these fires started on their own because of the pure heat. And sure, its hot and dry. But the 87 arsonists arrested sure didn't help, did it?
The thing is, we now have millions and millions of hectares of unreachable, uncontrollable bushland. It's dry as tinder and some idiot lit a match. It will burn. Trying to put it out now is like using a water pistol on a volcano. The fires are so strong they are creating their own weather systems. I didn't know they could do that. But yep. And anything that hot....mate...the water won't even touch it.
So, the Greenies can point fingers, the media can salivate and hound the PM, and every one else has to live with the consequences. As usual.
Thankfully, we live hours and hours away from the sort of bushland that goes up like that, but even here it looks apocalyptic.

@Naomi25 . I'm also a couple of hours from the Gippsland fires, but live in the foothills of the Dandenong national Park which some idiot could set a match to any time. At least we do have easy escape routes... Not like those poor souls in the isolated communities and trapped.
I wonder if given the just media spotlight and the real bs motives and ideology became fully known and understood by the general public, the greens could possibly become a...nah... Too much to hope for.
