People too often in too many things, as I see it, follow their own minds or the minds and ways of others instead seeking first things first. If we get their priorities right God will lead them us all of the way to Him.What people may claim, and what people may presume should not be foundation for doctrine.
The answer here is the same. If we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness continuously He will not fail to lead us anywhere else we should be going according to His order! To those be feel that being born again is something that we receive after a life of righteousness, how do you first obtain that life of righteousness without rebirth?
Much love!
You question her "soteriology"? Why do people insist on using words like that. I have to look them up every time to even understand what they are saying. Here is the first Internet definition I found:Nonsense!
I've already said that we walk in grace by faith, and I don't question her faith, or her walk, rather, I question her soteriology.
That being said, I'm not really interested in discussing one person with another.
Much love!
I explained those verses to you once quite a while back. My memory is not that good these days, but I was thinking you were quite a bit younger and would remember... even if you disagreed. Have you forgotten my explanation? I am 76 years old.You ascribe Scripture which you don't like to OTHERS? Are you NOT ACCOUNTABLE to Scripture YOURSELF?
Perhaps either a "Sharpie", or an "Exacto" knife, or possibly tearing whole pages from your Bible is to your liking.
Lke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.
Burn your whole Bible for all I care. But don't tell me that you obey Scripture ...

I explained those verses to you ...
I am now starting to remember why our conversation ended the last time. No, you make excuses for defying what Scripture DEMANDS. And you're old enough to know better than to DEFY SCRIPTURE.
There's a saying about "excuses are like", and there's no shortage of people who fit that depiction ...

Insist? You make it sound bad. It's merely descriptive. Why do people insist on using words like that.
Absolute agreement! The answer here is the same. If we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness continuously He will not fail to lead us anywhere else we should be going according to His order!
Of course not!Do you really believe that a person who does not know all of these things and is unable to effectively out argue you will as a result be lost?
How would you think I would answer this question? You continually ask me this. Why?Is He a respecter of persons?
For me when it is a word I constantly have to look up, LOL, it is bad. When I was young new things, including words, stuck easily, but I never heard words like that when I started reading and studying the Bible in English in 1976. It wasn't until I began visiting Christian forums on the Internet about 20 years ago that I first came across such words. By that time my brain was already having a hard time holding onto anything new, that I did not use very regularly.Insist? You make it sound bad. It's merely descriptive.
Because it is on my mind and I believe everyone who loves God should be reminded that God is fairer always than any man can be. That certainly means me and, I believe, every other person... Many will agree with their mouth, but then act as if He is a respecter of persons by what they expect from me or others. How would you think I would answer this question? You continually ask me this. Why?

The meaning of a great many Spanish and German words, especially as used in scripture, come to mind more readily than for some of these 'descriptive' English words. Of course I already was familiar with those and started reading Bibles regularly in those languages in 1978.
I'm sorry if I come across that way!Because it is on my mind and I believe everyone who loves God should be reminded that God is fairer always than any man can be. LOL , yes, remember that you have a few old duffers around like me. Sorry for the old word, 'duffer'. See below from the "free English dictionary":I'm sorry, I just got used to using these terms. I'll need to keep in mind my intended audience, as communication doesn't happen if someone doesn't understand what I mean!
Much love!
Really it is not you in particular. I believe that everyone who has not yet overcome completely as Jesus did is likely to still be a respecter of persons. It is the way of men to automatically compartmentalize people and in doing that some are placed up higher or down lower than others among all the ones in our mind. For God it means that He is always fair. Every person receives ultimately no less or more than another based upon what he has done with what he has received. I guess there are other places in scripture that explain it but this one nearly always comes to my mind:I'm sorry if I come across that way!
Amen! That is one beautiful thing about God. He will judge me based on He and me, and nothing else. And not, how did I do keeping the list of rules, rather, well, it was C.S. Lewis, talking about something like not our circumstances and opportunities, not our handicaps and abilities, but our moral choices, that is what God will judge.
Agreed, but there are a number on planet Earth and some here on this forum that will strongly disagree. It IS very important to keep in mind! No one gets a free pass!
And even more so . . . As we put our views out there for others to receive and hopefully benefit from, I feel we put ourselves in the seat of the teacher, and let not many be teachers, knowing we shall receive the stricter judgment.
I suppose it's on the lines of, he who says he knows, is responsible to actually know.
Much love!
There may be more who are not respecters of persons, as they simply live as Jesus says,Really it is not you in particular. I believe that everyone who has not yet overcome completely as Jesus did is likely to still be a respecter of persons.
We need to put that in context. We DO get a free pass on sin, in that we are not condemned for it if we've died and raised with Jesus. But all our works will still be judged. Only not to our condemnation.greed, but there are a number on planet Earth and some here on this forum that will strongly disagree.
I think so. I think it's a matter of what humility we've learned. There may be more who are not respecters of persons, as they simply live as Jesus says,
even if or though they have not overcome other troubles by far.
