When someone makes a comment on any given subject... I don't think that binds them to speaking to every single person that quotes them. It happens all the time... people make comments to CERTAIN people's points... and then they move on. I think everyone experiences people they do not trust... admire... or cannot relate to... thus the beauty of a free forum... where one can pick and choose whom they communicate with.
Knowing one's limitations is an important attribute I feel. I could debate until the cows come home as to WHY I left the Catholic church... and why I LOATHE this institution... it would serve NO purpose... I am not afraid of confronting questions about Catholicism... My stance is simply that I do not desire to WASTE my time on something that is no longer a part of my life.
The topic of Mary's perpetual virginity was a discussion I felt the need to comment on... and only in light of stating that NO one can prove for sure if this is true.... All the scholars in the world agreeing does not make this a case of "proof".
I think @Mungo will agree that I have been most respectful with all our communications.
