NO!
This is protestantism.
For sure.

Here's how I know:
Catholics mix up Justification and Sanctification because of the works thing. Don't let me get into it but I will if you so choose...
i'd like to see the concepts de-religified, after all they are applicable to daily life, and have no meaning whatsoever in a church

I was a little hesitant in replying to this post directed toward "slackers", but what the hay, here goes.

With the washing over of salvation, you don't need it again and again. You can't be born again, again and again.

1 John 1:7, But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Cleansed by the blood of Jesus and the need to be washed by the Word, continually.

Ephesians 5:25-26, Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

Aaaah, the living water, John 7:38, Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

Footwashing is needed if you sit with God in heavenly places because the devil is under your feet, the only place he can reach, tossing garbage at you, such as, "you are partly saved", "you can lose your salvation", "you were never saved in first place", "you're a filthy sinner", "God doesn't love you". Shake the dust off your feet, the garbage, and get your feet washed. The foot-washing doesn't save you, the blood does that and you are cleaned through words spoken to you, hearing about Jesus, washed by the Word.

John 13:8-10, “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

Go ahead, wash someone's feet today, share the Good News and talk about Jesus.

John 13:14, "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet."

I'll start.

Ephesians 1:13, And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 2:8, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God

2 Timothy 2:13, if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

Romans 11:29, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

Do your feet feel squeaky clean?

John 13:7, Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
Great job.
I only would like to add, since you used one of my favorite scriptures,
John 13:8-10...
This show that Jesus wants us to accept His love. Peter did not want his feet washed. It's kind of humiliating to be sick (physically) and have to have your body washed. A person is giving love, and the other (Peter) has to accept it, or Jesus cannot be part of the person who will not accept His love.

Of course they are applicable to everyday life.
Churches, however, are here to teach us things we may not get to know on our own. The maybe not so important things, but it's good to know them to understand our faith better.

John 13:10
"He who is bathed":He who is totally clean. IOW, born again.
"Is Completely Clean": Because he has been washed by the blood.
"Needs only to wash his feet": The new sins which are committed
"You are clean": The Apostles
"But not all of you": Judas

As for "the Way": Not sure how you make the connection. Will be interested to hear.

It was what the Christians were first called...Jesus IS The Way.
It makes me think of when He told the disciples He had sent out to shake the dust off their feet where they were not welcomed.
Mathew 10:14
Acts 24:14
John 13:10

THAT...my friend was ....Priceless!!
( I was having the same thoughts...but you said it far better!)
Thank you...I needed that! :D

Goodness, this crazy thread has moved fast...I had to catch up from three pages back!

Like many other things...I say both arguments are right.

We were sanctified by the blood at our salvation experience. Done.
Just as Moses sanctified the table of shew bread, Candlestick, altar of incess and all the vessels of gold used in worship. We worship...we are sanctified by His blood.. So we were, we are, and we continue to be sanctified = "Set Apart" for Him.

Exodus 19... God said to Moses ..."Say unto the people...
Ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes
.."
...and we continually wash and keep our raiment white and our lights burning..
Sanctified inwardly and outwardly.

little? ok

truth is established in the mouth of two or three, so fwiw i would use those (i assume you mean someone 'liked' the post) as guides

most ppl would only like posts by those considered friends for instance, which might easily be perceived as sycophancy, so fwiw i now try my best to like the posts i agree with in those perceived as opponents or whatever, as this would maybe indicate a more unbiased witness, but regardless i would not...i would be careful how you treat any witness
If I like a post its becaue they are speaking truth. I dont not hit the like button for any other reason.

not at all! i understand that "Jesus did not die for your sins" is attacking a sacred cow, and you might justifiably feel quite differently. So, if you detect some...mumbo-jumbo, bam make your case and let's see! Bc of course there is a sense in which Christ died for us, but the point is to reveal the much more popular counterfeit, not to deny Christ.
Yeah its that mumbu jumba comment that hurt ya no? Yo u keep bringing it up.

i suggest that what you have done is admit yourself into a suggested group, an ideal, that Scripture goes to some lengths to define as accepted, by way of justifying your ego, and that the Book even invited this perspective, by way of revealing where our hearts are at. See bc the next step is to then identify who these are, right, and really what is the purpose for this? It is so that a them can be established, see, for purposes of different treatment essentially, right? A way to not love your "enemies," iow (another play on one's perceptions, as the Book clearly tells us who our real enemies are elsewhere)

yes, in a very clever way imo, as parents are wont to do
I and many others do not have a clue what you are talking about most of the time. I think you go out of your way to do that. I have a friend who is very clever but acts stupid as he wants people to laugh at him and think hes stupid. If someone syas he dumb he likes that knowing there wrong
