You quoted the verse before, but haven't explained where goodwill comes from in men who have been born to a sinful nature. "There is no one good but God. "

You witness against yourself, concerning your ignorance. Goodwill pertains to doing the will of God. You are right in the sense that only God is good. Goodwill=God's will. And so it is, that anyone following the natural law of God, that is written on the hearts of men, He will call them. Those of bad will, He does not.

Zacharias 1:3 And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Turn ye to me, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will turn to you, saith the Lord of hosts.

Man is born with a sinful nature, but it is not utterly destroyed, otherwise man would not even be able to follow the natural law.

Romans 2:14-15 For when the Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature those things that are of the law; these having not the law are a law to themselves: Who shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness to them, and their thoughts between themselves accusing, or also defending one another,

I love how you falsely create a reply for me 'Ibid'. Very deceitful.
actually the only correct word anyone could install once you have broken the software like that, which was the point. You would have to point out how anyone was deceived i guess, unless you mean you accidentally making your words into his?

And how do evil and sinful men at enmity with God do His will. Grow up child.

Indeed!

Thank you. I just don't take such personally. And there are those, who intentionally shall do / say things designed to elicit a response.

May a blessing be upon your home and your heart.
Thank you for your blessings. I've found that over the last few years my emotions have become more powerful and bordering on the overwhelming, due in part to my age (and lowered testosterone levels). Self control is a desirable thing, but as we become weaker in the flesh the Lord is able to use us more powerfully by His Spirit. It's a strange thing, but true as I see how he uses me with people in my immediate circle of friends and relatives.
May the Lord bless you as well and keep you growing in His grace.

It is you, who doesn't know anything but lies. God does not command impossibilities.

Pope Paul III, Council of Trent, Session 6, Chap. 11 on Justification, ex cathedra: “… no one should make use of that rash statement forbidden under anathema by the Fathers, that the commandments of God are impossible to observe for a man who is justified. ‘FOR GOD DOES NOT COMMAND IMPOSSIBILITIES, …

Pope St. Pius X, Acerbo Nimis (# 2), April 15, 1905:
“And so Our Predecessor, Benedict XIV, had just cause to write: ‘We declare that a great number of those who are condemned to eternal punishment suffer that everlasting calamity because of ignorance of those mysteries of faith which must be known and believed in order to be numbered among the elect.’”

Pope Gregory XVI, Probe Nostis (#6), Sept. 18, 1840: “We are thankful for the success of apostolic missions in America, the Indies, and other faithless lands…They search out those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death to summon them to the light and life of the Catholic religion… At length they snatch them from the devil’s rule, by the bath of regeneration and promote them to the freedom of God’s adopted sons.”

You MOCK the great catholic missionaries and the things that they suffered in order to save souls! According to you, they wasted their time, it was unnecessary, just leave them ignorant.

Fr. De Smet, S.J., Jan. 26, 1838: “New priests are to be added to the Potawatomi Mission, and my Superior, Father Verhaegen gives me hope that I will be sent. How happy I would be could I spend myself for the salvation of so many souls, who are lost because they have never known truth!

Fr. De Smet, S.J., Dec. 8, 1841: “My heart aches at the thought of so many souls left to perish for lack of priests to instruct them.”

Fr. De Smet, S.J., Oct. 9, 1844: “What emotion at the sight of this vast country, where, for lack of missionaries, thousands of men are born, grow to manhood, and die in the darkness of infidelity! But now through our efforts, the greater number, if not all, shall know the truth.”
You don't know much about the dogma of Infallibility, do you??

NONE of the above statements about ignorance are infallible decalrations - not ONE.
NONE of them can be corroborated by the Catechism. Only the teaching on Invincible Ignorance can be found in the Catechism.

You're fighting a losing battle here because you're a disobedient servant . . .

Actually, all those in the vatican II sect are protestants, with their protestant brothers, and it is also fact, that prominent protestants were at the second vatican council, for their input.
And yet, not ONE heresy was espoused at the 2nd Vatican Council.
Your lack of faith and rejection of the authority of Christ's Church is abominable . . .

You are such a liar, its disgusting. You cited John 15:22 to make the false point that those who don't know the gospel, have not sinned, i.e. "if I didn't speak to them, they would have no sin", therefore because of their invincible ignorance they are saved. The fact of the matter is, they would not have been guilty of the sin of unbelief. But they would be guilty of the sins of the natural law, that is written on the hearts of all men.

John 15:22
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin
; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin.

You are exposed and busted, you are a fake and a fraud.
And YOU are just another angry little anti-Catholic.
You don't agree with what the Church teaches - so automatically it is the Church that is in error and not YOU. You are like the proverbial spoiled child who blames everybody but himself for the mistakes he makes.

Tell me - at which point did the Catholic Church fall into the hands of Satan, making Jesus a liar for promising that the gates of Hell would NOT prevail against it (Matt. 16:18)??

Oh, by the way - it is YOU who just lied by stating that I consider the invincibly ignorant to be "saved". That's NOT what I said. Their culpability may be lessened - but they have NO guarantee of salvation.

That's what Christ's Church teaches . . .

It took me a while...but I can see the Neshushtan reference now...it just took me a while.

Well, I have to say our Christmas was okay...a few too many people, relatives and friends for me though. Too many conversations going on...The older I get, the more I prefer just the 'one to one' conversations now.
I ate too much of the 'naughty things'...so now I feel sluggish and drugged (which is what bad stuff does to the body :( ) I feel like- " Let's get back to lots of soup and salads again"
I like seeing all the rellies, but I am also glad they will all be leaving town again tomorrow. :)

You do more harm to the Catholic church than good.
You should just give it up and go away.
All you're doing here is trying to prove how right you are.
And even if you are right, who cares...
Your venom spills over....
This is NOT what God would want of you.
Disgraceful.

No - God doesn't want people like YOU to continue to spew lies about His Church.
THAT'S disgraceful.

I said it before and I'll say it again: Don't lie about the Catholic Church or its teachings like you normally do - and you won't hear fro me.

It's really that simple . . .

oh, they do, believe that
the evil serve God's Will
The question was not do they, but how? The word good is derived from the word god. Goodness is defined by godliness. How do men born to a fallen nature do or have the will to do anything good? The basis of the New Covenant was described by God through the prophet Jeremiah hundreds of years before the birth of His Son, in Jeremiah 31:31-34. The passage speaks about what God does to and for His people. It's about His work, not ours. When a man receives Christ by faith it seems as though he's made that choice for Himself, but it's the teaching of scripture that God has sought such men out Himself and given them a heart (or mind) prepared to believe Him and to receive His word as the Truth. We live in a time when men "of science" have done everything that they can imagine to prove to themselves that God doesn't exist, yet some well educated men still hear the word of God and recognize that it is true in spite of what they've been taught in Universities or read in books, so why does one " choose" to believe while another scoffs and continues to do whatever he imagines? It's not background and upbringing, as atheists are sometimes born and raised in families of believers while believers are sometimes raised in families of atheists. It's about God's calling and election. People have been arguing over these things for over a millennia, but scripture remains pretty clear on the topic, it's all about God's grace.
