    Ephesians 4
    11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

In these days of self teaching and private instructions by the Spirit of Christ, is this biblical? No, it isn't!

These apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers only purpose in life is to perfect saints.

Personally, I feel honored to know one gifted teacher out of the hundreds I've been exposed to in 33 years in Christ.

So there are only two kinds of people in Christ. Those who are doing the perfecting, and those who are being perfected. There's no self perfecting in Christ unless your one of the gifted teachers.

I can say without a doubt there are no gifted teachers in any Christian discussion group online today. So maybe if we were practicing Ephesians 4: 11-12 and realize we are the perfectees, instead of the perfectors, we would have a better chance of being unified. Of course, after fulfilling a correct faith life.

Those who are doing the perfecting are also those being perfected. Every believer in exercising his gift given him by the Holy Spirit is doing the perfecting. In turn, he is also being perfected through the actions of the Holy Ghost in other believers who are exercising their gifts.

I believe there are many on the forums with the gift of teaching. It is harder to sense the Spirit through forums than it is in a local setting. But not impossible.

    And, pleased to meet you.

Nice to meet you also stranger.

Notice the word" some" . He gave " some" , not every faither. Certainly not every believer since there is no such thing.

Yes, no one believer has all the gifts, but all have a gift.

That is a pretty Absolute statement. Who among us even knows all of the teachers on Christian discussion groups? Even if a person did know all of them, how would he or could he qualify to judge that none, that is not even one, of them was 'gifted'?

"For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that." I Cor 7:7

The real gift that all those who endure a surrendered life is recieving the Spirit of Christ, it's referred to in scripture as the "Grace deposit."

Like you said there are many gifts, but only some recieve the responsibility to perfect saints.

In my understanding is that Spirit of Christ in those gifted Ministers would teach the narrow path and what it looks like. The Spirit of Christ in the ones being perfected would give them the ability to recognize that.

I've been active in all the discussion groups over the last 20 years. I've never met one person who understood how to fulfill pisteuo correctly. All are caught in the " believe and recieve" trap, and they don't even realize it. In fact, they seem to like it there!

The Spirits man Judges all things, and is under no man's judgement.

This is referring to a temporal judgement, not an eternal one.

I have also been active in many discussion groups bearing a Christian label on the Internet during the last 20 years. I might even agree with you in a measure, but your written words were too absolute. I could list a whole lot of forums on which I have been a member , and it would surprise me greatly that you had also been a member of each and every one of them. As to their being no gifted teachers, that is either a revelation from God or a judgment call from the carnal mind of a man. You used the words, 'temporal judgement', by which I presume you mean, 'carnal', coming from your own thoughts and reasoning powers without input from the Holy Spirit. Perhaps this is a wrong presumption on my part?

The number of people I have encountered not caught in the "believer and receive" trap you mention would certainly likely be few, but without a lot of documentation hardly non-existent. Can you clarify your meaning?

First , the" Spiritual man" means a man that belongs to the Spirit of Christ. That is where the temporal judgement comes from, not a carnal mind.

Second, that state of being can only come by NT Faith as it relates to the living God. This is communicated to us from the Greek texts by the use of the word pisteuo.

Pisteuo is defined as, " a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender".

The Strong's gives the disclaimer that " pisteuo means NOT just to believe."

So if one that is being called out by the Father and has never heard of this act of Faith, had never fulfilled this act of Faith, or even go as far as to reject and attack this act of Faith, there is no way they could have received the Spirit of Christ yet.

So because the response to the call of the Father is incorrect and the Spirit of Christ has not been given, Christ, His word, and His promises are none of theirs. Rom. 8:9

Faither, you are absolutely off your rocker, completely mad!
Your name is stupid, the expressions that you use are entirely invalid. You are clearly and absolutely, in no position to discern who is a teacher, an apostle, a pastor, or a 'perfectee'!
You have shown so much ignorance, lack of discernment, dogmatism and narrow-mindedness, that you do not qualify to one, interpret Scripture correctly, or perceive either what standing, position or gift that anyone has within the Church.

Here are the credentials of your 'super teacher', that you cited to me in a previous thread.

'He owned the largest collection of biblical manuscripts in private hands behind the Vatican. Greek texts, Hebrews texts , dead sea scrolls, many of them original texts,Bible's in more than a dozen different languages. This is what he taught from.
He taught nearly every day of the year for 35 years. Being a Dr. Of theology from Stanford University and a Dr. In education, he was a teachers teacher.'

Now tell me, how for one, does this qualify you to have such a monopoly on truth and wisdom? And two, how do his credentials in scholarly endeavors, automatically make him a competent exegete on spiritual matters?
Have you ever heard of the Pharisees or Sadducees? Are you familiar with their acumen in regards to the Law and Jewish history? It was unequaled to all others contemporaneous to them, and even many scholars today, due to their affinity with the historical times that they lived, and with their fellow Israelites. And yet, they crucified Christ. They could read the weather, but not the signs of the times. ...maybe they should've got that 2nd PhD after all?

What is your point about teachers, or even gifted teachers? Whatever it is, it is completely invalid, both theoretically, and in practice, as you clearly display every time that you attempt to express your exegetical prowess to others. You appear so one faceted in your comprehension of the Word of God. The Gospel of Christ is not exclusively about Pisteuo. There is the ability to impart to another the full implications of the Son of Man, from its inception in God's plan, to it's chronological and historical deployment in human history.
From the first-born of all creation, to the first-born from the dead. From the pre-eminent King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to the suffering Messiah. From the Levitical Law, to the Law of Faith. From the exclusivity of the Jews, to the inclusivity of the Gentiles. From the condemnation of all men, to the offer of absolution to all men.
There is much to understand of the Word of God, pisteuo is only one facet. And it cannot be attained in its full implications, if a proper comprehension of the Gospel of Christ is not apprehended.
One cannot be convicted (pisteuo) of something, that they do not understand!

Salvation and faith in Christ is certainly a gift from God to the believer. But that is not the 'spritual gifts' that is given to the believer once he believes.

I didn't say 'only some' receive the responsibility to perfect saints. You are saying that. I said just the opposite. Every believer is involved in the perfecting of the saints as he himself is also being perfected.

We who are Christian are all being perfected. And we who are Christian are involved in the other Christians perfection in the use of our gift.

The entrance is narrow. But once we enter, we are free to roam.

Ya were not on the same page.

Where did you get your understanding of this? Did someone influence you or some other way?

I can say without a doubt that there are gifted teachers in Christian discussion groups online. What is missing is people who are not gifted acknowledging these people's ministry and who try and correct them without a scrap of support from scripture.

Could you please show me some examples of those gifted teachers?

I'm always open to know Christ better through someone else's understanding.

There is a saying I believe is true, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." God has a way of providing for those who diligently seek Him.

You are correct, we are not saying the same thing.

Many have contributed to my understanding of the Bible.

Without wanting to sound my own trumpet, my anointing from the Holy Spirit is as a teacher. That being the case, then it is a gift.

    Matthew 7:13-14

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The Christian walk is the narrow way. So it isn't just the gateway that is narrow.

Wonder why Faither won't disclose who his "gifted teacher of a Stanford level education who taught everyday for blah blah...blah" is?
