Oh my. Check out the footnote and the difference between the two translations.
Hard to say what this means exactly. Mercy, mixed with fear?

He thinks he's better than everyone else but he forgets that the only reason he believes is because of God's gift of faith given to him. We were warned not to be arrogant about it but most Christians ignore the scriptures.
