Do not go beyond what is written in your heart.

It cannot mean what is written on stone or paper. Even the limited info in the bible shows it cannot mean this.

So, it appears that the "Lake o f fire" was 'prepared' for 'the devil and his angels here, but no one else is mentioned. Then in this next verse we read.

REV 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So what do you make of the addition of people in this Rev. verse but people were left out of the Matt. verse?
It obviously wasn't an 'after thought' from the ominscient God, but what are your thoughts?

What if this was 'written' in the bible?

JER 8:8 "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie.

We have a lot of Holdeman Mennonites in our area. They too are very much KJV only...brethren that I love and respect. I was trying to gently talk to one of their older women in my office one day concerning their 'opinion' versus my 'opinion'. And I asked in a moment of silence; 'seeking a WORD from the MOUTH of God'. Do you know what I believe I heard? "Ask her why the NAME on the book wasn't GOD'S VERSION instead of KING JAMES?" I thought that was a pretty good WORD from His mouth personally.
She must have too, because she looked like a cow staring at a new gate. I don't mean that disrespectfully at all either.


I'll add some more thoughts here now, since I do love KJV and several other translations, and some I don't like, and some I kind of hate. Father forgive me for that....or reward me on the day of judgment for my discernment...however that all works out.

Young's LITERAL Translation.disagrees along with a hundred other bibles This was the same Young who wrote YOUNG"S Hebrew/Greek Concordance for the Bible. But Strong's became more popullar because his definition agreed with the TIMES he LIVED IN theologically more than the TIMES it was WRITTEN.

Philosophically it does "make sense" to me. As to the scriptural based question I asked, not so much. I was hoping for more of a 'spiritual truth' analogy backed with even more scripture than I just shared, asking the question. I tend to not limit myself to the one source, namely the bible. In fact I go out of my may to resist my, if I can put it this way, natural default tendency to go to the bible and quote the bible.

I know this may not scratch the itch many believe can only come from using the bible as their back scratcher. For me the bible can be used but I have chosen another means, another type of scratcher that satisfied the itch as it were.

If you are satisfied by only using the bible to answer questions, provide understanding and your means of finding truth then we may end up speaking to each other in differently languages without an interpreter.

The guy who spoke these words, or should I say, the prophet of the LORD spaketh unto them and sayeth. Isaiah wrote this quote around 700bce so if he was asking people to read something then it had probably had to be already written. Unless there is another way of reading something that hasn't been written yet.

May AI could help with that. But I'm not sure whether AI was available back then.

So this documentation (like AI, books didn't exist back then as the first books were created around 500 BC as hand-written scrolls) must have been written before 700 bce.

The bible as a book of books wasn't compiled as a compilation of recognised and accepted by the evolving church til after the final contributor finished his writing around 100 ce that's 800 years after Isaiah referend to this documentation of the Lord.

The KJV came into existence around 1600 ce that's 2300 years after Isaiah said, seek out...and read.

Maybe its only obvious to me that it wasn't the book, the bible, the King James Version of the bible that Isaiah was referring to.

So I think you are saying that Isaiah was expecting God to enable his audience, like him, to be taken 811 years into the future, to spend 3 days (70 hours) to read the whole King James version of the bible, then go back to year 700 bce and agree or disagree with Isaiah, after testing his words with the KJV they had read and committed to memory.

Actually they probably would have to stay in year 1600 ce for the whole year or more to memorise the whole KJV bible before going back to year 700 bce.
