How can you say that when the Scripture plainly says "they shall fail". The Greek word there is καταργηθήσονται (katargēthēsontai).

Strong's Concordance
katargeó: to render inoperative, abolish
Original Word: καταργέω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: katargeó
Phonetic Spelling: (kat-arg-eh'-o)
Definition: to render inoperative, abolish
Usage: (a) I make idle (inactive), make of no effect, annul, abolish, bring to naught, (b) I discharge, sever, separate from.

I did not suggest any such thing. Prophecy = DIVINE REVELATION. Those revelations have ceased, and all that we need in terms of revelations is right there in the Bible.

It says the gifts will fail but love will go on. All gifts, not just prophecy.

You want to get technical, I can as well. In the New Jerusalem there is no need for prophecy but there still will be love.

Fail means to end.

The verse is not limited to just the church or while this planet is populated.

You obviously do not know what prophecy means. It is not limited in context to the major prophets of the Old Testament or the apostles.

The gift of prophecy is still given today. But always for a purpose, same as with tongues or any other gift. It never adds anything to Bible revelation.

1 Corinthians 14:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.

How very profound. I love your gobbledygook, but there is no denying that genuine Bible prophecies came to an end with the book of Revelation, which is an integral part of the NT and should indeed by combined with all Bible prophecy.

So if you would like people to think that Prophet Scott is speaking by divine inspiration, forget it. Please strive for clarity at least.
I refer to what has ended and what has not, and for personal rivalries you do not stop to consider what actually has ended. You have made a vendetta out of a biblical milestone, and it has blinded you.

Can you define just what has ended with Revelation, and what has not?

In the NT church PROPHETS were a position in the Church.

There are no prophets today. All the prophecies have been given and there's no more need for them. Prophets, like Apostles, continued for only a short time in the early church after 70 A.D. When people think of prophets they associate them with predicting the future, and Old Testament and NT prophets, Jesus, his apostles, and John of the Apocalypse. Prophets continued after John as a position in the early Church primarily to establish the foundation of it. In the Old Testament they often 'spoke forth' God's will for Israel. In the New Testament they spoke forth God's will for the emerging church.

NT prophets went from church to church 'telling forth' God's Will for the establishment of the local church. They were 'wandering prophets' as they had no place to live, were only meant to stay for no more than a few days, had no family, and were not allowed to receive any money. The position was often abused as they often extended their stay, accepted money and lived large at the expense of the congregation. The NT prophets became 'obsolete' in the sense that after the church was established and the foundation was laid, they were no longer necessary. These 'wandering prophets' became more of a disturbance and nuisance than a help. The church eventually viewed them as an intrusion and the office of prophet just faded out.

There were no prophets after the New Testament church was established, and there were no prophets between the Testaments.

Today we are disciples, have deacons, and are able to prophesy, but that in no way makes us prophets.
Before the church was established spiritual gifts were administered only to certain individuals hand picked by God. As the Spiritual gifts emerged into the general population of the church, the apostles and prophets eventually died off and were no longer necessary.

Prophets had a dangerous job and were usually the first to be persecuted. As the church grew and developed each local church eventually had their own deacons and ministers etc. to run the local church.

"And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?"

"And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus."
Ha...and the same say, "Everything is not fulfilled!"

And so it is true, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.

You deserve nothing more.

Just another typical 2-3 line reply with no substance. There's too many of you here.

Jesus was referring to himself in Mathew 13:57.
...And what you do to the least of these (in Him), you do to Him. He said that too.

In 1984 I was attending college in Tonkawa, Oklahoma....Northern Oklahoma College. On one particular day after class I was driving home and was listening to a Christian radio station. An advertisement came on announcing and upcoming event of a prophet-evangelist coming to a church in Oklahoma City as a guest and who would be ministering to those who attended. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said pull over and write down the information...time, date and address.

When I got home I went into my bedroom and prayed and asked if I was supposed to attend this service and the Holy Spirit said YES.

The day of the service I dressed and drove to Oklahoma City...(it was a 2 hour drive). When I got there (no GPS at that time) I had to stop and ask for directions 4 times. Now in my mind I am expecting a huge beautiful church....when I finally found the church it was a little white building not much bigger than a house. I was the only car in the parking lot....I saw a light was on so I went inside and there was a little ole black lady in the pews. So I sat down and looked at my watch. It said 7:30....I waited, and waited, and finally I went over to that lady and asked her about the service and if it was suppose to start at 7:30.....she said "honey it is fixin' to fill up...they be showin up..anytimes now...don't you fret." and then she smiled....well sure enough the church filled up and by 8p.m. it was full.....They were all black people....I was talking to God in my mind and asking "Lord is this a test to see if I am prejudice? You know my heart better than I do so I don't understand."

Well the song and worship leader led the singing....then the pastor began preaching.....no sign of the special guest speaker....I cannot even tell you what the pastor's sermon was about because by 9 p.m. I was upset and crying that I came all this way for nothing. (Feeling sorry for myself because I had a test to study for and I should have stayed home)…..
The pastor finally closed his sermon and introduced the guest speaker....this man stood before the congregation upon the stage and just began pointing to people and they would stand up and he would speak a prophetic word to them....and this went on for awhile...I was really in awe that he could know all this about these people...I had never heard a prophet speak.

Then he stopped....I looked at my watch it was 10 p.m. and I thought he was getting ready to dismiss....….but then......he spoke.....he said..."there is a lady here, her name is Patty, she is from Pawnee, Oklahoma, her dentist name is Dr. Keith Smith and she just had a filling repaired a few days ago and it cost her 35 dollars...and if she is here the Lord has a word for her".
I was in shock...I even looked around to see who there knew me....then I raised my hand and said that is me.
He said come up here....(he didn't make anyone else walk up to the front)...so I walked up to the front. Then he looked me directly in the eye and said...."the next several years of your life will be like one behind an old plow shear plowing a field....this is symbolic of the trials and tribulations you will suffer but if you remain faithful to the Lord in the end you will receive your harvest."
This really didn't mean much to me at the time but as the years came and went I would remember this word every time I suffered a major trial or tribulation.

Now I need to also say that a month or so after this...another advertisement about another prophet in OKC...same thing...the Holy Spirit said go...I went ….he prophesied the same prophesy as the 1st one.

So for those who say there are NO PROPHETS today....PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS.
Just hopped over on your link, what a great testimony!

It's such an amazing thing when we see God looking at us, as we realize, God sees . . . me! And know me. And loves me. And speaks to me! You!

Much love!
