None of those. And are you talking about 2 Peter 1? If so, it is well written and easy to understand. I doubt if I'm the only one who understands it. Except, you and 101.

Have you read that first verse?
Its talking about other born again believers who have the same faith as the Apostles.

Gnosticism teaches that spirit is good and matter is evil;

Listen.

gnosis teaching teaches that there is no sin nature, no fallen adamic nature, and so, no sin found.
that is "gnostic teaching"., that sin does not exist because there is no such thing as a fallen mankind, etc.
This is why gnositics or "gnosis" teaches that there is no need for the Sacrifice of Christ on the Cross, as why would He be needed to pay for sin, if there is no adaminc nature, no fallen nature, no sin..

So, whoever the nutbar is that has not explained this to you accurately, which explains why you are clueless about this also...
Pick up a phone and call them and tell them that they have also ruined your understanding of even this subject.

Get a clue, son.
Really.

He's not naive...

You are teaching that your FLESH< which is the "sinning" part of you, that is DEAD, that died with CHRIST, is the part of you that God is dealing with.....=so, that's extreme error, theologically, and literally.
You are equating the "New Creation in Christ" as the same as the FLESH, that is DEAD.
You are not to see yourself as "the sinning part", which is your flesh, that is circumcised apart from you, and is DEAD.
God does not charge what is DEAD, with sin.
What is dead? Christ having born your sin, and the old man that was crucified with Christ.
You are teaching the opposite, by misleading people here to think of themselves as sinning flesh, when in fact this is DEAD.

Gnosticism teaches that spirit is good and that matter is evil. And that therefore what we do in the flesh doesn't matter.

This is, in effect, what you appear to be teaching.

Listen.

That is a good defense for your false theology, I suppose; to claim that I am misinformed as to what the false theology is that your theology represents.

J. Vernon McGee was a renowned Bible teacher and commentator in his day; his commentaries are workd-renowned.

Sorry that I cannot call him up and call him a "nutbar" (as if I would actually do that)....he passed away some time ago.

A Christian is NOT in the flesh, but in the Spirit. That means that person no longer commits sins of the flesh, unless their flesh is a zombie, or the walking dead. Therefore, if a Christian still commits murder and adultery they are no more Spirit-filled than an unbeliever. But you say those actions of the flesh are not even sins.

A born again person can do these (listed below).... all of these.., at any time....day or night.
The reason they are not imputed as "SIN", but are listed correctly by Paul as "works of the flesh", is because we are not under the Law.
What keeps us from doing all these?
"if you walk in the Spirit, you will not commit works of the Flesh".
If you "walk in the flesh", as a believer, you will probably commit most of these works of the flesh.

19 Now the works of the FLESH are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness,

Paul says those who commit these things will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. You say they will.

Think.

"paul said that those who DO THOSE THINGS< will not >>Inherit<<<t the KINGDOM OF GOD"..

Yet, the BORN AGAIN, are not waiting to Inherit it, we already HAVE IT...... It is INSIDE US< we are already "translated from Darkness to Light", we are already BORN AGAIN.......
Being Born again is to already BE A PART OF THE Kingdom of God, which is The Spiritual Kingdom that Lives IN US< and that we exist within, by being "in Christ".

So, those who are not going to inherit the KOG< would be anyone who is not born again.
The BORN AGAIN, already HAVE the KOG....We are already IN IT.

The Born again already have CHRIST IN US..
We are already seated in Heavenly Places, right NOW, = In Christ.
We are not waiting to inherit the KOG.... We are already IN IT. = 'ONE" with God and Christ.

Your first point, makes no sense.. As Works follow after everyone.......sinner or justified.

and, The reason its not necessary to quote the end of verse 21, is explained by comparing scripture with Scripture so that you get the context.

Paul said this.....>"use not your liberty, for an occasion to the FLESH". "flesh". = doing a work of the flesh, as found in that LIST.

Let me explain that to you, reader.

Paraphrase... "now that you understand that God does not charge your sin to you (Romans 4:8)...don't now go out and live as the sinners live, doing carnal deeds"..
For if you live in sin, and stay there, "you will DIE".

Although, when our inheritance in the KOG is mentioned, it is very likely referring to our heavenly mansion and our entrance into heaven itself....which can be forfeited by us if we lose our faith because our hearts were hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

The Born again will not commit those things at all. Their old flesh is dead and can not do anything, cannot commit murder or adultery. Their new flesh does righteousness and does not commit murder or adultery either.

You can commit every work in that List., in your mind, as well as in your life.
But, God will not impute this ACT to you, as "sin". Romans 4:8

2 Reasons.

1.) you are not under the law, as Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the Law.

2.) God has already Judged Himself, for all your sin, on The Cross.

So, you will not be judged for your sin or for any carnal deed, or for any work of the flesh, as God has already judged HIMSELF for them ALL

You had a question for me that turned into your usual anti-scriptural "look at me" BLOG that you create on all my Threads.
So, isn't it great that i keep posting Threads for you to waste time on, seeing that you are not able to post one for yourself, unless its about me, or its one you say you wrote, 50 yrs ago.
You have inner problems, son.
I hope you are able to get them worked out.

So, let me explain "sinneth not".

If you are born again, then John is talking to you in that verse.
He's explaining, as Paul does..... that we are "new creations".
Our old man is DEAD and we are by new birth, become a NEW CREATION.
THAT is who we are, in God's perspective.
This NEVER changes.

Your problem, one of them, justbyfaith, is that you see yourself as the "flesh", as its in the flesh where all lust, sin, hate, sin, sin, sin, works of the FLESH, is found.
You constantly want to prove to us that you are a sinner who has indwelling sin.
OK, we got it 3 weeks ago before you told us 35 more times.
We know you have a sin problem, and we know you like to talk about yourself as a sinner.
We HEARD you.

Now, to correct this, is to discern what John is talking about in your verse.
See, unlike you, these Men are Spiritual.
They talk in Spiritual Language that bounces off your carnal mind. This is why you read verses & then always try to teach them based on your fleshy failed reasoning.
This is why you read my Threads but can't SEE the Light that is In them.

So, John is explaining to you that there is the flesh, but we are not the flesh. So, its our BORN AGAIN SPIRIT MAN, that is sinless, at all times, that abides so, and cannot Sin.
its Impossible for the Blood of Jesus to miss one.
The blood of Jesus has in fact taken care of ALL sin.. Colossians 2:13
THe Blood Of Jesus is a continuing Atonement, that exist as an ETERNAL Sanctification.
However, its not sanctifying your flesh, or as you define yourself, "my indwelling sin part"...
The good news is......God does not see that part of you.
God is a HOLY SPIRIT who does not SEE anything except the Spiritual, regarding the Born again.
He sees us as Completed, "IN CHRIST"< = Equal to Himself in Righteousness =at all TIMES.
That is what John is explaining.

You dont see yourself there, because Hebrews and bad teachers flipped your faith into the abyss of SELF, long ago.
That is why you always talk about YOURSELF as a sinner, and never do you understand who you are because of the Cross, and the "Finished work of Jesus on the Cross".
I'm not sure that being aggressively confident in one's own interpretations makes a person correct. I think it just makes them, well... aggressively confident.

Do you actually own a New Testament?
Have you ever studied one?
What you just said, is so unrelated to scripture.

Listen..... Jesus was correcting pharisees who were teaching what you are saying.
You don't know this...because you have no idea what you are talking about..
Luke 17. """ The Kingdom of God is within you"

Romans 14 17 .. explains that the KOG is SPIRITUAL... "For the Kingdom of God is NOT Meat and Drink (created stuff).... but its RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND PEACE, AND JOY, "IN" THE HOLY GHOST.

To be "in the HOLY Ghost", is to be IN CHRIST.

No, the reason why you didn't quote the end of verse 21 is that it contradicts the epitome of what you are teaching here.

It says that if you commit the works of the flesh, you will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I believe that the reason why you teach that they are the works of the flesh and not sin, is because if they are not sin then you can get away with doing them and still enter heaven.

But the end of verse 21 teaches us that you cannot get away with doing them.

There is a specific lifestyle that will be lived out by the born again...a lifestyle that is devoid of the works of the flesh and filled with the fruit of the Spirit. These things are contrary to one another, as the scripture teaches.

C'mon....

It is Common Sense 101 to realize that the kingdom of God to a certain extent means our entrance into heaven itself.

You teach that a Christian can now commit the acts of murder and adultery, and it not be imputed to them, because you stopped reading in the middle of the teaching. That's pure ignorance.
