I need one as well....just waking up.
iu

I think I'll start a coffee thread and everyone can write how they like their coffee or tea,
plain donuts or coffee cake..
Maybe start a menu, and a catering service..

Just come in and place your order and whatever thread I find you in, I'll deliver to that thread.
Kind of like hide n seek, only I get to drink the coffee if I can't find you.
:)
Hugs

I don't know about you guys...
But
I think teeth were the first original nail clippers...

Does anyone have any historical facts on this important subject?
Well George Washington had false teeth and they were wooden....:):D
And I don't know about you but this subject is quite chattering.

oh…okay, I see now. I’m so obtuse. My obtuseness cannot possibly be overstated. I spent hours trying to figure out what the frickety frack! I literally move past things and forget all the specific details of them. Like…forget them to the point that they do not even come to mind a day later. I literally thought you and she were mad at me or at Barney fife or at the op. I literally do not remember the details when I move on. I have so much in my head that I let go of the unimportant stuff. Oh my gosh it’s a wonder that I remember to breathe…
Yeah , i thought you might have thought that . JUST MARCH ONWARDS IN THE LORD .
Believe me , IF i see error in someone , I will be very specific . Often i just remind generally .
Unless i tell you , You are in error, dont see it as an attack . well even if you are in error , it wont be an attack .
Lambs look out for lambs . IF i were in error i hope someone would tell me too . Like GOD sent nathan to rebuke king david too .

hi there …

No, I first met you before Mikes, though he was on it too, with Patsy etc UKCW. I think the owner /Admin was Terry or Terrance . He had a good forum going …my brother Neil - “Laterunner” got me started there. Remember?
I think it was 1998 or so….as I’m pretty sure I lived in the other house back then .

@Rita Were you there too? Or was Mikes your first Christian forum? I can’t remember,

x
Yes I was , use to really like that forum. I believe UKCW was my first online forum xx
Wow 1998 !!!!!!

No, no, no... Remember its wall building qualities!
something came so clear to me when i say those words , WALL BULIDING QUALITY .
I have no idea what you meant . But let me tell you what came to me .
IF we build the walls with wordly temper and morter , those walls GONNA FALL ON THE DAY OF THE LORD .
BUT if we build those walls with the pure and true words in that bible , of our Lord , of the apostels
THAT IS the walls that lambs build in the kingdom . Where each stone is a lamb added by truth , the morter of GODS words .
OF JESUS . In SPIRIT and in truth .
The problem today with wall builders , NOT SAYING YOU MEANT THEIR KIND , is that they build us up , they build a kingdom up
a wall up , BY CARNAL WISDOM . that wisdom is futile . Those teachings and words , no matter how well meant theyare ,
WONT stand on the day of the LORD . that KINGDOM wont stand on the day of the LORD . FOR that kingdom
was of men , NOT GOD . I hope that makes sense my friend .

A flip phone....eek, what's that!! Lol

I have a pencil that has a metal ball on the end of it. One day, drawing with the younger kids, gave one of the kids that pencil to use.
What is that ball for???
A rotary dial phone.
A WHAT? LOL
I do have antique phones...so got out a rotary dial phone...and said, this was after crank phones...
WHAT'S a crank phone?...so got out a crank phone...
Took out all my old phones...they had no clue, of the history. The drawing went to the wayside, and instead wanted to talk about and play with the phones...
....found out later from the parents...
The little girls were asking parents for a "princess phone"...ha ha...
...can of worms....oh ya, gave them a "tin can of worms" to open too. Tee hee.
Kids are awesome...Old is good.
They gave some teenagers over here an old dial phone and just asked them to make a call. They had no idea that they had to lift the receiver and dial the number, they just dialled the number with the receiving still in place !!

LOL...
Getting a visual..."GOING" to have a stranger "DO your nails"...they biting them...lol eek!

Tidbit...mommy's should "clip" an infants nails, by biting them. (Not clippers). Point being, by biting, one can tell, it's only the nail and not surrounding delicate skin.

I love kids, and think there are endless ways to teach, that is enjoyable for them.

I have one profoundly deaf child...during her younger years...not unusual to have a houseful of kids over on the weekends...my kids, nephews, nieces, friends....

Had them all at different times...have their ears plugged, or eyes covered, or mouths with no speaking, or a hand bound, or foot bound....for a day.... to, play, eat, communicate, go to bathroom, get dressed, do chores, fixing food, sweeping, simple things....per age....very interesting...
Frustration, imagination, compassion, understanding...
No "grades", trophies, etc....but valuable lessons while having fun...able to laugh at themselves....
"Not seeing"...while finger painting, using play doh, drawing, etc. laughing, fun, big mess, awesome!

“I don’t know about you” - but I’m glad that we met on here , you’ve been a blessing . :p

I’m tagging @101G. Long time no see .
101G has been gone for a long time now. The system is showing "last seen 3-29-2021". I fear that something has happened to him. For me he was one of the better ones here.
We requested prayer for him here: Prayer for 101G

I guess my age is really showing here. The first phone I remember in my mother's house was a crank phone on a party line. Then our small town got rid of all the local telephone operators because they had installed a rotary telephone system which eliminated quite a few jobs. It was the latest thing then... Now like me the rotary phone is also out of date...LOL

I have never been drawn to threads like these but the past couple of days I can’t stay out of them. I think it’s like ziggy said, things just coming way too fast and who can keep up with them? It’s too much. I’m not one to want to shut my mind down often. In fact, I think we have too many things we shut our minds down with. And letting the world tell you what direction to go in is shutting your mind down too.

I’ve watched people who play games. I can watch them as they play and can see they are trying to shut everything out. I think everyone needs to shut it all out and let their mind decompress at times. I do it when I fold laundry and do dishes and drive in my car. Anything I do that is mostly by rote gives my mind time to quiet and shut out the world and not focus on any particular thing.

But now, just recently, I have to try really hard to shut my mind down and I think it’s why I’ve been drawn to silly threads. But even with seeking them out, I’m suddenly having a hard time sleeping. It was after 4 a.m. that I got to sleep last night. I’m not worried or scared, I just…can’t stop my mind from going. There seems to be too much to try to connect and understand. It’s too much rapid change to and fro for my mind. If I watch any news, which I do for about 1-2 hours a day, I find myself laughing at things that really aren’t funny but I can’t help it. It’s all begun to look like a comedy routine to me. I know it’s not funny but…

That phrase, to and fro…that’s what it all feels like. People run to and fro when they are concerned, nervous, scared, confused, exhausted, angry, excited.

Wait…to be perfectly honest…I do feel some worry. But it’s not about the world. The world is going to go the way the world is going to go. I’m worried about those in here. When THEY seem to be caught up in the whole cancel culture of unforgiveness, and suppression of speech and certain topics, and almost robotic repetition of what they hear, I thing that’s what’s keeping me up…

okay, so…at least I worked that out…I had to ruin the lighthearted thread to work it out.
So…you can throw fruitcakes at me, I deserve it.

It's a viscous cycle anymore. My mind goes 1000 mph, all. the. time. And unless our minds are stayed on Christ 24/7...it seems it will continue as sin abounds and love grows ever colder.
These silly threads can bring much needed lighthearted edification, and let's us get to know one another better too, IMHO.
It IS a comedy routine Jen, comedy/tragedy really and, more tragedy than comedy. There is certainly a time and place for light humor. Graveness is certainly needed all the time, especially where the lost, confused, misled and weak are concerned.
This cancel culture gives life to verses like :

"20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Matthew 6:14-15
"14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Matthew 7:2
"For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

This cancel culture has no place in Christians life.

But ask me about something important and it’s almost instant recall. Nancy had shoulder surgery. Amadeus’ dad said boy howdy! Ziggy has been in pain. Truman can’t get the medicine he needs and also has chronic pain. Marks is a butthead. Ferris is…Ferris. But what I had for dinner? Forget about it!
Truly very important things you remember there. Me, I have lost track of my tricycle. I wonder what my mother did with it.
