Matthew 25:46

Mk 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched!

These scriptures don't prove man to have an immortal soul.
Immortal means beyond death, deathlessness. Human beings die. They stop being living souls or living persons at death. God tells us how he caused the first human to become a living soul or living person at Genesis 2:7. God tells us there, that he took dust from the ground, and then formed it into a flesh and blood human body, then he blew the breath of life(spirit) into that flesh and blood human body, and that flesh and blood human body, became a living soul or living person. So this scripture lets us know that its the combination of a flesh and blood human body combined with the breath of life(spirit) in that flesh and blood human body that makes that flesh and blood human body a living soul or living person. So if a person tries to say that the breath of life(spirit) separately, on it's own, without the flesh and blood human body is a living soul or living person, Genesis 2:7 disagrees with that. At death a human being ceases to exist as a living soul or living person, that's what death is. So human beings don't have immortal souls Genesis 2:7 proves that.

Surely Jesus isn’t talking about immortal worms and never ending fire. What do you think the phrases “their worm dieth not” and “the fire is not quenched” mean?

God said you will die, satan said you will not die, take your pick. Personally I side with Jehovah as being correct. If humans can not die, then how do you explain the sacrifice of Jesus sir?

When human beings die they are no longer living persons. If you continue to believe that a person continues living then you're saying a person doesn't really die that there is no death and you agree with the serpent who deceived Eve.

Why didn't Jesus just die and go away and cease to exist, if Him being the Word of God - the soul inside the body of Jesus Christ?

Jesus - The Word of God - went to Sheol (the covering place for the dead, being in paradise, and then going to the prison part), while three days in the heart of the earth. He did not stop existing, neither did Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob who went to the realm of Sheol.

The Sadducees and the Resurrection
(Mark 12:18–27; Luke 20:27–40)

  • 23That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and questioned Him.
  • 24“Teacher,” they said, “Moses declared that if a man dies without having children, his brother is to marry the widow and raise up offspring for him.b
  • 25Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died without having children. So he left his wife to his brother.
  • 26The same thing happened to the second and third brothers, down to the seventh.
  • 27And last of all, the woman died.
  • 28In the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? For all of them were married to her.”
  • 29Jesus answered, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
  • 30In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angelsc in heaven.
  • 31But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what God said to you:
  • 32‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’d? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
  • 33When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.

Man isn't a hybrid. You calling man a hybrid is proof you do know what a hybrid is. So you're not going by scripture concerning what makes a human being a living person. Genesis 2:7 is very clear and you're not in agreement with it.

This is more literal translation, thefaith.

All of it lasting an age. You can read In Revelation 21 where individuals had a part in the lake of fire. They had “a portion”, but the Lake of fire was made specifically for Satan and his angels, which you can see in Revelation 20 where the devil, the false prophet and the beast were thrown into the lake of fire forever.

body and soul!

The body dies and goes in the ground until the resurrection of the body when Christ returns the soul goes to the particular judgment

  1. Man consists of two essential parts–a material body and a spiritual soul.
  2. The rational soul is per se the essential form of the body.
  3. Every human being possesses an individual soul.
  4. God has conferred on man a supernatural Destiny.
  5. Our first parents, before the Fall, were endowed with sanctifying grace.
  6. They were also endowed with donum immortalitatis, i.e., the gift of bodily immortality.
  7. Our first parents in paradise sinned grievously through transgression of the Divine probationary commandment.
  8. Through the sin our first parents lost sanctifying grace and provoked the anger and the indignation of God.
  9. Our first parents became subject to death and to the dominion of the Devil.
  10. Adam’s sin is transmitted to his posterity, not by imitation, but by descent.
  11. Original sin is transmitted by natural generation.
  12. In the state of original sin man is deprived of sanctifying grace and all that this implies, as well as of the preternatural gifts of integrity.
  13. Souls who depart this life in the state of original sin are excluded from the Beatific Vision of God.
  14. In the beginning of time God created spiritual essences (angels) out of nothing.
  15. The nature of angels is spiritual.

the body dies

It sure does, and you will go to the grave until your resurrection. What is the beautiful thing about death, you can lay in the grave for thousands of years as some have but in what seems to be an instant, you will wake up in a completely new system where all worship God in spirit and truth. That is part of the good news that the Bible teaches Faith.

you’re spiritual soul is put in the ground?

What is death? Here is what death is Faith:
(Genesis 3:19) . . .you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”
Psalm 104:29) When you hide your face, they are disturbed. If you take away their spirit, they die and return to the dust.
(Ecclesiastes 3:20) All are going to the same place. They all come from the dust, and they all are returning to the dust.
(Ecclesiastes 12:7) Then the dust returns to the earth, just as it was, and the spirit returns to the true God who gave it.
(Psalm 146:4) . . .His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6) . . .For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) . . .Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.

The spirit that goes back to God is not a spirit being sir, it is not conscious according to those otehr passages, it is the breath of life that animates the body: (Genesis 2:7) . . .And Jehovah God went on to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living person.

Spirit and breath English words from the same Hebrew word Ruach, and mean the same thing. The breath or lifeforce.

we still have a mortal body and an immortal soul

new are a hybrid body and soul

the body changes all thru life

the soul or person does not change

so there must be two entities

Jehovah said you will die, He defined death in His word beyond any doubt which I posted for you sir. satan stated you will not die, I am going to side with Jehovah on this Faith, I believe you die. If you don't why did Jesus have to be sacrificed, and why the resurrection? We will never agree on this.
