Mm. That would greatly depend on the attitude of the one you are speaking with. Some whose behavior is unacceptable would react to your expressions of intolerance than other's expressions of tolerance. Up to them whether they accept counsel and correction or prefer the approval of the tolerant. Your pearls may get trampled. Or not. Me, I'm a stubborn old coot at times and don't easily take no for an answer. I'm reluctant to shake the dust off. The more the pearls get trampled, the more determined I get to grit the teeth and be obnoxious.
So at the end of the day, we need to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. You are right, I think, people respond to different things in different ways, even Jesus demonstrated that.
