Yes, and that has happened several times.
Your point of view requires JESUS to not be Reigning now ...but what is going on in this Scripture?
Ephesians 1:20-23
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
If you want to get technical, Christ never stopped... reigning, because He is Immanuel God with us. He didn't stop being God while He was in the flesh like us. So it's important to understand the 'type' of reign He was pointing to, and His Word shows at His return He is going to literally reign over all nations with "a rod of iron". We don't see that happening today, because it's not time for that yet, He has not returned yet.
So to say He is already... reigning over all nations today, is to lie, and say He has... already returned, or will not return.
