Hi there,
So we frequently hear about the return of Jesus, that He comes to rule the Earth (and its nations). There is scripture for this, which is fine (I couldn't tell you which scripture specifically). But there is another return, which doesn't get much attention because it is obscure.
The verse which talks about the return of Jesus as a smart man, is hidden in the verse that speaks about the Lord setting the goats on His left and the sheep on His right (Matthew 25:32-33). This verse is about discernment, not rule and I contend that it points to a second type of return. You see, separating goats from sheep is a wise decision, the two do not agree with one another. Now imagine that every decision that Jesus makes as the smartest Man, was this smart? You would have to be pretty smart, right?
Now, I am not saying this happens before Jesus returns to rule - that Jesus is the smartest Man already - what I am saying is that belief in Jesus eventually comes to encompass being very, very smart. It should be understood that "scripture" makes us "smart". Christians are smart people, for a reason! What we should be doing, is thanking God for making us smart (for helping us discern)!
There is something else that is entailed by Jesus returning as the smartest man, we should rest (that is, in being smart and becoming smart). Being smart is not about being a loner; being smart is about working together with other smart people, or just Jesus, even, to do things which bring glory to God. It should not be hard for us to cooperate; it should not be hard for us to be guided.
I hope this has been of some encouragement.
God bless.
