Concerning being born again, Jesus Christ said:

"...Except a man be born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God."
— (#John 3:3).

When a man is born again, he will be able to SEE the kingdom of God. How is a man born again? Is he born again by receiving the Holy Ghost, or by baptism? Neither. Instead, a man is born again:

"...Not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."
— (1 Peter 1:23).

It is the word of God, which is that incorruptible seed, which makes a man born again. Remember the parable of the sower! Jesus Christ said:

"Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God."
— (Luke 8:11).

It is by the will of God (not by the will of man) that a man becomes born again. And when a man is born again, he will receive power to BECOME a son of God. The scriptures testify concerning Jesus Christ that as many as received him:

"...To them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
— (John 1:12-13).

It is written again in the scripture about God that:

"Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."
— (James 1:18).

It is therefore:

"...Not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."
— (Romans 9:16).

This has always been the case. For it is even written in the psalms:

"I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me."
— (Psalm 119:93).

This is why Jesus Christ answered Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, saying:

"...Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?"
— (John 3:10).

And now, when a man is born again, he will be able to become a son of God and ENTER into the kingdom of God. And how does he do that? Jesus Christ said:

"...Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot ENTER into the kingdom of God."
— (John 3:5).

So, how then were the children of Israel born of water and of the Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God? They were:

"...All baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea..."
— (1 Corinthians 10:2).

And how are men and women born of water and of the Spirit in the New Testament? Jesus Christ commanded his apostles to go:

"...Into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
— (Mark 16:15-16).

He said again to his apostles:

"...Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
— (Luke 24:49).

And so, when the New Testament began on the day of Pentecost, the disciples:

"...Were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
— (Acts 2:4).

And they preached the glorious gospel of the blessed God, saying:

"...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
— (Acts 2:38).

This is how men are born of water and of the Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. They repent and are baptized in the name of the Lord for the remission of sins. Because:

"...Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
— (Acts 2:21).

And they receive the Holy Ghost. Which will cause them to:

"...Speak with tongues, and magnify God..."
— (Acts 10:46).

This will happen to all who receive the gift of the Holy Ghost because:

"...The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
— (Acts 2:39).

Amen. This is the difference between being born again, and being born of water and of the Spirit. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. May God reveal this to you. For how can you enter that which you cannot see?

Not to go too far off topic but not all born again Christians have been baptized in water. That is a ritual statement of one's rebirth, but not automatic or required.

You are entirely wrong. There are and have been many "born again" Christians that have not been baptized in water.

Do you really think that every single Christian has been baptized in water? I know several myself who have never undergone the symbolic ritual statement.

Robert, being born again and being born of water and of the Spirit are not the same thing. Being born again gives a man the ability to see the kingdom of God. Being born of water and of the Spirit gives a man the ability to enter into the kingdom of God.

There are many people in the churches who are born of water and of the Spirit but they utterly refuse to obey the Lord and that which he hath set forth in his word. Because they are not born again of that incorruptible seed which is the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

In those wicked children of disobedience is fulfilled that which was written by the prophet:

“Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.”
— (Psalm 68:18).

This is the parable of the sower.

All christians are born again and born of water and of the Spirit. But not all who are born again are Christians. And not all who are born of water and of the Spirit are Christians either.

In thy generation, David, is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: for this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Born again means baptized by holy spirit sir. They are personally selected by God and only a very few Christians are called for that service.

Agreed, you cannot enter the gate (v5) that you cannot see (v3). The language is very poetic and figurative, as John tends to be.

I personally love the relationship between enlightenment, our ability to see (v3) and our actions (walking through the gate, v5).

And the difference between a Christian and a born again Christian is ..? Secondly, how can you possibly know what every born-again Christian has done? Have you done a world-wide survey?

Great question Jim, very relevant in fact. With the sin of Adam, God had to make alterations to get to the finality of His purpose. Immediately He foretold a seed that would crush satan out of existence, and it was revealed later this seed would be the King over God's Kingdom, which would settle the entire issue of sovereignty.

Most likely you and I would agree that seed is Jesus. Later it was revealed that there would be Kings and Priests selected from among humans as co-rulers in that heavenly government. They would leave the earth, reside in heaven, and would be baptized (anointed) by holy spirit, the number of them given was 144,000. The selection began with Jesus' faithful 11 disciples on the last day of his human life Luke 22:28-30, they were anointed by holy spirit on Pentecost that same year. The gathering still continues until their completion and those who are still alive upon Jesus' return will be raptured to meet him in the air upon his return. Rev 5:9,10; 14:1-3. 1 Thes 4:16,17

We believe most of them are already in heaven as we think the first resurrection has been fulfilled Rev 20:6 So as you can see, they are very faithful Christians, who are clearly advanced therefore all who are selected would have been baptized in water early in their service to Jehovah.

That is our understanding of it Jim, thanks for asking sir.

1. John 3: 3 tells us what must be done to us, we must be born again

2. John 3: 5 jesus speaks of two births water and spirit

3. John 3: 10 - 18 John tells Nicodemus and us how to be born again.

10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
