Who is this Israel that has "a place in God's Heart"? What are its distinguishing identifying characteristics?

1. DNA?
2. Religion?
3. Culture?
4. Domicile?
5. ?
DNA, the 144,000 is just the beginning.

DNA, the 144,000 is just the beginning.
From its birth and throughout the entirety of its history, Israel was comprised of multiple ethnicities.

Genesis 17:12
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

Exodus 12:48
And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

Exodus 12:49
One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Leviticus 19:34
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 24:22
Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the Lord your God.

Physical DNA was never a criterion in determining God's true Israel.

Rather, two spiritual criteria.

Two genes of spiritual DNA.

Faithfulness, and obedience, to God and His Covenant.

Which is why Korah's physical DNA didn't save him.

Nor did it save the many thousands of other pedigreed Israelites whom God slew due to unfaithfulness and disobedience.

Nor has it ever, nor will it ever, save anyone.

Rather, faithfulness and obedience alone.

Nothing else.

Rev 7 declares otherwise and they both will combine, the bloodline of Israel and faith in Christ.

It does not contradict Genesis, Exodus, and Leviticus; so it does not declare otherwise.

The difference is the church will have spiritual bodies but Israel entering the millennium will retain their humanity to re-populate the earth but there will be many gentiles as well.
Where in scripture are you getting that idea?

Where does Paul and the rest of the Jewish apostles fit,- Church (believing Israel) or unbelieving Israel? lol
Good luck finding scripture to support any unbelievers surviving his glorious appearing. Note 1Thess 5 below that there will be no escape.
Regarding Peter, I believe he was being shown the "end" of the DoL and Jesus does "not" declare that the heavens and earth will pass away at his coming. It is simply an expression emphasizing the power and duration of "His Words".
Peter said the DOTL comes like a thief, not the end of the DOTL comes like a thief.
Paul said this day will bring SUDDEN destruction.

1thess 5
Now as to the times and dates, brothers and sisters, you have no need for anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the [return of the] Lord is coming just as a thief [comes unexpectedly and suddenly] in the night.

3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety [all is well and secure!]” then [in a moment unforeseen] destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains on a woman with child, and they will absolutely not escape [for there will be no way to escape the judgment of the Lord].

True, but the vast majority of the bible was written for Israel, not the church. We are still the add-ons and as of now there is no difference between a Jewish christian or a gentile one, but that will change in the millennium but this fact remains and will never change and that is that Jesus was a Jew. Those gentiles back in the day had to change who they were to be accepted into Israel. They had to proclaim belief in their God and become a Jew spiritually, and if male, they had to get circumcised and leave their gentile beliefs behind them. The bible makes it perfectly clear that human Israel will have an earthly destiny while the church has a heavenly one. The ultimate goal of God, imo, is to combine the two into one and that is what the NJ describes.

I never said unbelievers and I believe I specified that all of Israel that enters the millennium will be born again believers and the gentiles allowed in will be those who pass the sheep and goat judgment. 2 Peter 3 is often misunderstood. Those receiving prophecy didn't usually get all the details and are usually unaware of when these events will occur and just see the mountaintops of events but not the valleys of time between them. Paul is speaking about the 6th seal event and the start of the judgments and Peter is speaking about "both" of the times described before and after the millennium, the day of the "Lord" the same as Paul's in 2 Peter 3:10 but the day of "God" or the end of the millennium in 2 Peter 3:12-13 which is also spoken of in Rev. 21:1. Folks often believe the two passages are speaking of the same event but they are not.

All born again believers whether Jew or Gentile, all who pass the test, are glorified at the Lords coming in Matt 25.
There is nobody to rule over for a thousand years. You are a sheep or you are a goat, and no goat will pass the test as Jesus makes clear in Matt 25.

Peter and Paul knew what they were talking about and were not unaware about any details. They taught according to the Lords own word who had told them everything in advance regarding his coming.

Mk 13
20 And if the Lord had not shortened the days, no human life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose [for Himself], He shortened the days. 21 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed)!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it; 22 for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and they will provide signs and wonders in order to deceive, if [such a thing were] possible, even the elect [those God has chosen for Himself]. 23 But be on your guard; I have told you everything in advance.

The Return of Christ

24 “But in those days, after [the suffering and distress of] that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory [in royal majesty and splendor]. 27 And then He will send out the angels, and will gather together His elect [those He has chosen for Himself] from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.

The entirety of Scripture was written for those faithful and obedient to God and His Son and His Covenants. That is why unfaithful disobedient Old Testament Israelites by the thousands did not survive, while those faithful and obedient, the true Israel within Israel, did, irrespective of their physical DNA.

Today that faith and obedience is the theme of the New Testament. It is once again, as it was in the Old Testament, for the faithful and obedient; now in Christ.

In God's New Will and Testament, all covenants and promises are fulfilled only in Christ, and in those who are in Christ.

The OT covenants and promises are the promissory clauses of God's Old Will and Testament, and they are both revoked and fulfilled in the promissory clauses of His New Will and Testament, written in the Blood of His Son Jesus Christ, the Divine Testator, coming into full force and effect upon His death.

If you have made your own Will and Testament, you will see that the very first clause states the following or its equivalent:

"I HEREBY REVOKE all former Wills and other testamentary dispositions by me at any time therefore made and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament."

This means that all former wills and testaments, and all of their promissory clauses in their entirety, are completely null and void. In their place, the promissory clauses of the current last new will and testament are the only ones in force and effect. Any promissory clause which appeared in the old will and testament, but does not appear in the new will and testament, is irrevocably null and void unless yet another new will and testament is made which re-includes it.

Thus we see:

Hebrews 9
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Hebrews 10
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hebrews 8
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

God`s New Will and Testament is everlasting:

Hebrews 13
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.

There is none greater.

We see other new promissory clauses of the New Will and Testament in:

Matthew 21:33-45
In this parable, the son, who is identified as the heir, typifies Christ.

Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Hebrews 1:1,2
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

In them, we see that the Heir and Beneficiary is Christ alone, that all of the promises are affirmed and confirmed in Him, and that He is Heir of all things. All includes the OT land promises, the restoration promises, the blessings promises, and all else. There are no exceptions.

If you deny that God has appointed His Son heir of all things, you declare God to be a liar.

His New Will and Testament contains even better promises:

Hebrews 8
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Such as:

Hebrews 11
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Additional promissory clauses in...:

Romans 8:16-17
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

...declare that we who are in Christ are joint heirs with Him.

But notice:

There are
no promissory clauses for anyone, Jew or Gentile...

Who is not in Christ.

Perhaps one should concentrate on the many OT prophecies that declare otherwise. That Messiah will reign upon the earth over a stubborn humanity is pretty much prophecy 101.

If you read my first line, I say the same thing. But the fact is there are Israelis who have become christians on an individual level (since the resurrection) but there will also come a time when Israel on a "national" level will also accept Christ as Savior, Dan. 9:24, Matt. 23:39 and Zech. 12:10 and it is undeniable that it is to those many of the OT promises are forgiven. God doesn't "revoke" His promises, men do. Christ inherited the obligation to fulfill his Father's will, literally!!

So were the scribes and pharisees.

Was there any difference between them and Jesus?
Of course but Jesus promises a time of restoration for the nation of Israel in practically every prophetic book in the bible. Nothing has changed in that regard.

Perhaps one should concentrate on the many OT prophecies that declare otherwise. That Messiah will reign upon the earth over a stubborn humanity is pretty much prophecy 101.
What are they being stubborn about? Is it not repentance to receive such a gracious salvation?

Act 17
26 And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. 27 This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. 28 For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of [f]your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ 29 So then, being God’s children, we should not think that the Divine Nature (deity) is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination or skill of man.

30 Therefore God overlooked and disregarded the former ages of ignorance; but now He commands all people everywhere to repent [that is, to change their old way of thinking, to regret their past sins, and to seek God’s purpose for their lives], 31 because He has set a day when He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed and destined for that task, and He has provided credible proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

Today is this day to find salvation through repentance. because at the end of this age the stubborn will embrace a deluding influence that judge and condemn them.

2Thess 2
9 The coming of the [Antichrist, the lawless] one is through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], 10 and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not welcome the love of the truth [of the gospel] so as to be saved [they were spiritually blind, and rejected the truth that would have saved them].

11 Because of this God will send upon them a misleading influence, [an activity of error and deception] so they will believe the lie, 12 in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe the truth [about their sin, and the need for salvation through Christ], but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness.

Those who do not accept such a great salvation today will completely fail the test.

You apparently overlooked some of the Scriptures I cited.

Read them again.

Then describe what they say about Christ and the fulfillment of His New Covenant and Promises.

Do you think that God broke His promises when His Son took away the old promises to establish the New and Better Promises?

If you do, then keep re-reading them until the Holy Spirit enlightens you.

Hebrews 8
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Hebrews 8

In what NT book, chapter, and verse does Jesus promise a time of restoration for the nation of Israel?

True believers are the Israel of God:

Many ask, Who are God's chosen people in the earth today? Who are His elect? Are they of the natural seed of the children of Israel? Are they the "Jews" according to their ethnic lineage? Or are God's chosen people now the Christian believers of Jesus Christ?

It is commonly believed that the church must be raptured into heaven so that God can renew His separate program with the natural Jew. But is this truth? Is He going to redeem them in their present state, then remarry them?

Will the O.T. Law: the Mosaic Covenant which was only temporary, Hebrews 7:12 & 8:l3, be able to somehow in the future, disannul the Abrahamic covenant, of which the church is now the only partaker through the Seed of Abraham: Jesus Christ?

It has been well said, that the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. The whole Bible teaches only ONE acceptable seed, ONE family, ONE all-encompassing covenant, only ONE Israelite people as the true Covenant "children of the living God." Romans 9:26, Eph. 4:4-6

The New Covenant promised seed has been sown and is risen to replace the Old Covenant chosen seed and its unfruitful, ineffective, but once necessary life has passed out of God's plan, just as surely as have works of the Old Testament Law.

Ancient Israel, is a type of the "first man Adam, the old man": the natural body. Whereas the new Israel of Christianity is of the "last Adam, the new creation", a spiritual body.

The firstborn was Jacob, typifying Israel of the flesh- Ex.4:22; Hos.11:1. The second born: Jesus, was of the Spirit, 1 Cor.12:12-14. In Genesis 25:23 we also see two nations, a natural ethnic Israel and a spiritual true; Israel of God.

Israel of old was chosen as the firstfruits nation of the fallen Adamic seed to receive and carry the revelation of the creative, redemptive, promises of God Almighty. Isaiah 43:10; Romans 3:2 It was revealed to them long ago: I the Lord am holy and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. Leviticus 20:26

God later divorced ethnic Israel on the grounds of whoring after idols. Jer. 3:1-11 and will marry another woman: the true Christian believers. Matt. 21:43, Isaiah 62:1-5

The faithful and obedient children in the true "Israel of God" are being prepared and made ready, Revelation 19:7…prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
In perfect holy union, the bride, the Lamb's wife, shall be called "the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord”. 1 Peter 2:9-10, Revelation 5:9-10

False teaching is that God's chosen are still the natural Jew and that everything for us as a Christian is in heaven; that Jesus has to hurry up and rapture us out of the earth so that He can renew His program and make another covenant with the chosen Jewish nation.
But, the truth of Bible teaching is that Christian believers are His only chosen and that only through Abrahams Seed, the true Christian Church, shall all the families of the earth he blessed, then we had better stop and re-evaluate this issue. The serious mistake for far too long, has been--that much of the Bible's truth concerning Israel is part of another Covenant and for another day or another people.

Friends, that is actually "another gospel." Galatians 1:8-9

The issue is the difference between the physical and the spirit. Not the spiritual, the spirit. Paul is not claiming a spiritual body that is not physical. Paul is saying the difference between two physical bodies are like night and day. They are literally the difference between death and life.

The physical body from Adam is dead/temporal corruptible flesh. The physical body from God is permanent incorruptible flesh. Jesus and Scripture points out, Adam's body goes back to dust. The physical body currently in Paradise is forever, and cannot be touched by the second death. Going with John 3 the first death is physical, and we live it every day. The second death is spiritual and eternal in the LOF.

2 Peter 3 is not about the end of the millennium. There will be a destructive change to heaven and earth at the Second Coming in the 6th Seal. This is the coming of the Day of the Lord. It is not the tail end of the Day of the Lord. When the 7th Trumpet stops sounding, it will be the end of Adam's 6,000 years of punishment of sin and death. It will be the end of Daniel's 70 weeks. There will be a new heaven and earth for the last Millennium. But it is not the new reality of the NHNE per Revelation 21. It is the new heaven and earth of Isaiah 65. Yes all the works of earth will be burned up, at the 6th Seal, the Second Coming. 2 Peter 3 will happen, and those on earth will still wait for the NHNE, according to 1 Corinthians 15:25-28.

"For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all."

Should it take 1,000 years? No, because time is not the point. The 1,000 years were witnessed by John and he wrote down there would be 1,000 years.

But we see terms in light of the church and the Gospel of Grace. Salvation by faith irregardless of nationality. That will change in the Millennium. There will be no sin, nor sinners. Disobedience results in instant death. Death is removal from the Lamb's book of life. All will have a permanent incorruptible physical body. No one will be living in Adam's dead corruptible flesh. That is what the final harvest is for after the 6th Seal. The sheep of Israel, and the wheat from all nations hand picked by Jesus as King personally. The final harvest will be the firstfruits, the first generation of humans to populate the earth.

The church will put on the spirit, a robe of white, and remain in Paradise until Paradise comes down as the New Jerusalem in the NHNE. Jesus hands back a perfect creation, not one burned to a crisp. The transition between current reality and the next reality will be seemless. The fleeing away part is this transition, and we will go from one to the next both in Paradise and on earth as if nothing happened.

The sheep and the goats represent living humanity to see if they are worthy to enter alive into the millennial age.

Hebrews 8
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

The covenant being spoken of here is the "law"! Period!
