HINT: I honestly don't think Russia wants anything from Ukraine. Rather, they want the puppetmasters @ NATO to keep the previous agreement of non-expansion East toward Russia. And of course, this means immediately stop providing Ukraine more weapons of war and take back what has already been given, i.e., demilitarize Ukraine.
When Russia nukes NATO for their failure to stop this conflict and 10's of millions of people around the world are killed, you might be willing to entertain an actual good faith negotiation. This is especially true if a nuclear detonation happens at a town near you - if you survive at all.
