Yes! Did he ask me to? No.
He was writing beautiful words
in replies to the prayer requests from
others! This is what made me take
an interest. Found out he is a known
pastor's son that has a great concern
for improving the lives of the people
in his area!
It is good that you are sending him money to do God's work. I too follow the Lord's prompting in sending money to the Indian sub-continent to people I can trust. However, I am careful that the people I support are trustworthy and honest. In my 27 years of supporting people in Nepal, I have seen pastors who have been corrupted by the easy flow of money from western countries, and they defend their "honour" fiercely when they are found out acting dishonestly. In KTM there was one family of a pastors that people were advised to avoid his sons because of their dishonesty. Now I am not suggesting that Mel is acting in that way, but, for me, after reading his prayer requests, mainly for money, they no longer ring true for me after remembering his past requests for prayer. One such request was for prayer because of his embezzlement of money, and it would seem to me that someone bailed him out so that the case against him disappeared. Helping people out without them facing the consequences of their decisions is not healthy spiritually for them.
My concern for the people in Nepal is that they themselves begin to trust God for their needs rather than depending on foreigners for the financial needs. In their reliance on us, they elevate us to the level of being their deity to supply their needs.
Mel objected to my input in this thread, because I asked God to increase his wisdom in the Lord by drawing him further into God's truth.
God does allow us to make these types of mistakes, when we step out in our own strength rather that with God by our side. Then when our decisions blow up in our face we then ask/demand God that He fixes our problems for us without learning anything about what we are doing wrong such that we keep making the same types of mistakes over and over again.
My Prayer is that God will draw you into His truth and that you will be prepared to humble yourself and repent of the wrong(s) that you are doing. If what you are doing is of the Lord, then it will not fail, but what we are reading is that you are continually having problems and that you want people on this forum to pray to God to tell Him to fix it.
The reality is that Mel is asking people through his prayer request to fix his problems for him. He is not learning from what he is doing wrong. He is becoming more dependent on us than God.
Mel has taken this thread down this rabbit hole.
Proud Christian often do not like correction, whether they line in the west or in the Asian sub-continent.
