When one believes in Christ does he have eternal life?

Stranger
Yup - unless he LOSES it by choice (Matt. 5:13, Matt. 7:21, Rom. 11:22, Heb. 10:26-27, 2 Peter 2:20-22, 2 Peter 3:17, Rev. 3:5, Rev. 22:19).

Yes, that is what I'm saying as the Parable of the Prodigal son teaches.
Had the son not had a change of heart - he would have been lost forever.

No he wouldn't. The prodigal son was still a son. That is the point. He did not cease to be a son.

Try harder.

Then it wasn't eternal. Just temporary. Yet Scripture calls it eternal.

Stranger
No - it's eternal until the person decides they want out.
Eternal life is a gift - not a sentence - and a gift can be returned . . .

Yup - unless he turns away from it and loses it.

You might have a "lifetime" subscription to a magazine - but it is up to YOU if you want to end it.
Does that mean that is was never a lifetime subscription??

Then it wasn't eternal. We are not talking about 'magazines'. How silly.

Apparently, YOU think Jesus was just kidding when He said the Son was "DEAD".
Jesus wasn't a comedian - He is God.

That's funny. It is given due to no work done. Yet you say it is taken away due to a work done or not done. How fickle. And a lie.

Hey - I'm not the one who said it - GOD did.
If YOU think He's a liar - then take it up with Him . . .

Rev. 22:19
And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

How can God "take away" somebody’s share of heaven if they never had it to begin with? This is about CHRISTIANS who may or may NOT make it into Heaven.

Really. I thought it was a gift. So, you have now changed your story. It wasn't a gift. Just exactly what was it?

Stranger
A gift requires your cooperation.
You can give a gift back to the giver.

No, I will take it up with you. Cause your not saying what I think God is saying.

What YOU think God is saying??
I'll go with 2000 years of constant living teaching of the Church on this one - not YOUR opinion . . .

Easy, easy, remember you don't want to make this a protestant catholic thing.

When we are dead to God - we are SPIRITUALLY dead.
End of story - unless we repent . . .

That is not the end of the story, just because you say so. The son was already a son. He didn't quit being a son. You cannot use this as proof that a believer can lose their salvation. Absurd.
